Our 2-night stay here worked well with our (limited) budget and our itinerary.

Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of food of varying types. The location was spectacular, right by the waterfall. It was great having the coffee machine available 24/7. The hot and cold water were certainly HOT and COLD!!

The room was very tiny. There was no place to put our suitcases. While there wasn't room for another chair, it would have been nice if we both could have sat down somewhere in the room.

Perfect hotel, perfect location. Tea/coffee available the whole day. Large choice at breakfast.

Too expensive compared to other accomodation in Iceland.

Exceptional

Excellent location at the end of the Fimmvorduhals hike, 5 minutes walk from the famous Skógafoss waterfall. Check-In was perfect - it is actually a self-check-in and self-check-out. We got a code for the room by email and that's it. We haven't met anyone from the staff (only at breakfast). Breakfast was perfect - all the usual popular food, whatever one needs.

The rooms are a bit tiny, but it is ok for travelers. If anyone wants a resort, that is not the place. The bathroom smell was a bit funky - It can be better aired/vented.

I don’t recommend to stay here.

We specifically choose this hotel for the sauna and bubble bath. It was on the listing during our booking. Just before our stay they took the sauna off the listing without notice. They have not offered a compensation. The bubble bath was very dirty. Heavy sewage smell in the bathrooms and fungus on the ceiling.

Nice and helpful staff, good breakfast.

Self-check in easy and straightforward. Staff were very nice and super apologetic about our first room being dirty (see below). The bed in our second room we were given was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and had a really big variety of foods to eat, staff were on top of replenishing food that had run out. Location was great, a 2min drive from Skogafoss.

We did have issues with our first room - the self-check in instructions lead me to a room that had not been cleaned, with towels/bedding strewn all over the room. The hotel is run under Hotel Skogafoss, so we did have to drive to their hotel to explain the situation to them and ask for a new room - however, the staff was very apologetic about this mess up, and the manager Octavian drove over with us right away to check out the situation and assign us a new room, which was bigger and more spacious than our original room. The shower water did smell a little bit like sulfur, so we did have to open the doors in our room to let the smell air out a bit.

Location

Noisey radiator. Hot tub and Sauna not working. Coffee machine had no milk in it. Pin code was different than the one emailed to me. Didnt no.my room number until I rang them at 9pm

Great location but not value for money.

The location next to Skogarfoss waterfall was incredible. Easy check in process.

Shower facilities were terrible: shower head wouldn't stay up right and water was cold. Sink: Only produced hot water and had a pungent smell. Door to bathroom had a crack in it as though someone had punched it. No staff around at any point during our stay. Decor extremely dated. Coffee machine in lobby permanently on "cleaning" so couldn't make a drink. We were under the impression the hotel had its own restaurant, but this actually seemed to be part of another hotel a few minutes walk away. Expensive in comparison to all other hotels we stayed in during our trip (total of five) and by far the one we liked the least. Would not return.

We really liked the hotel!

Ease of self-check in; comfy beds, sheets, blankets; the robes; very clean; beautiful views; near a restaurant; coffee/hot chocolate/tea availability.

Temperature of hot water was just warm and we were really excited for a hot shower, so that was disappointing; no soap or shampoo for shower; no instructions for adjusting heat in the room. Coffee machine was broken in the morning. Need a backup solution for coffee!

Location is great.. Staff very nice. Comfortable room.

Perfect location with beautiful waterfall walking distance away. Room itself was clean. Breakfast was very tasty!!

No where to set things down while taking a shower.. no hooks for towels no surface area in bathroom to set toiletries on. Hot tub was warm but not clean

Great experience in Skógar

Very well welcomed ! Breakfast is with the large choice and very good. The Hot Tube (Jacuzzi without bubbles) is clearly a plus, especially after walking all the day. Staff is very nice and attentive to our needs.
