The house was perfect. In the quaint Stoutburg Village. Met our every need. Cozyl gas log fireplace which we had trouble starting but the owner sent wonderful help and it wasn't anytime we enjoying its warmth. Peefect getaway nestled among a plethora of antique malls. Best Sister's getaway ever!! Thanks Kristen.

This neighborhood is so adorable ! Walking around outside made you deal like you were in another country. From the most adorable houses to the extremely well manicured lawns, courtyards, shops etc, the German restaurant had live music outside Friday night that you could hang out by the fountain or enjoy from your apartment. What a hidden gem !

Great place to visit antique stores. Close to Lancaster and Reading. House was nice and clean. Check in and out was easy.

The property and the area around it looked surreal. I felt like I was in a storybook or traveled back in time. The location gave us convenient access to Lancaster, various farmer’s markets, antique stores, and thrift stores. There are plenty of pamphlets provided to help you plan a trip if you haven’t beforehand.
Also, make sure you receive a second e-mail (not from VRBO, but from the host) that will help you check-in a couple of days before. I didn’t receive anything and thought I would get it right at my check in time, which I found out was not the case. I don’t blame the host since this was a technical error and not intentional. Just message the host if you don’t get one to prevent checking in delays.
Pros about the property:
• Plenty of appliances and supplies provided.
• Spacious home in a safe neighborhood.
• Beautifully decorated.
• Nice kitchen that’s well ventilated.
• Beautiful view of the surrounding area.
• Plenty of beds. I went with my elderly parents and aunts, and the set up was perfect where we each had our own beds.
• Pamphlets of attractions and nearby restaurants provided.
• Host was easy to reach and communicate with when needed.
• Amazing bathroom in the master bedroom.
Cons about the property:
• Plumbing issues with the upstairs shower. It wasn’t frequent, but there were times it just would stop draining the water properly for a few minutes. It always ended up resolving itself so we didn’t have too much of an issue.

The unit itself was quite nice. The surrounding village was quiet through the week. On the Friday we were there, the restaurant across the courtyard had live music outdoors that was entertaining.

Cutest location ever! I loved that it had a garage, so convenient, and the 2nd parking space was as well! Plus, if there were more the parking lot is not a far walk at all! The house was beautiful! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and I know that all the other girls did too! Couple tips, the washer sounds like a space ship taking off, so I would not run it at night, if you use both showers at the same time the water pressure gets reduced quite a bit, the TVs are great, but not Smart TVs, so if you want to stream then bring your Roku or HDMI with a laptop, the bottom towel bar in the Master Bathroom is very loose and will fall off if pressure is put on it, but easy to put back up, the house is old and creaky, so if other guests with you keep that in mind! The air conditioning and heat were great and easy to use, the kitchen is amazing (the pantry is huge, and has some much needed supplies, and the fridge has water/ice features), and the living room was a great size, plus the dining room table was perfect, and had comfortable seating, and finally there is a whole bunch of phamplets in the living room under the TV for local things, and a folder on the TV stand bottom shelf with more local resources 😀

The Handel Haus is located in a village specifically built to be like a village in Germany. The architecture is cute and the village is quiet. The unit itself was super clean with plenty of room for parents on the main floor with bedrooms and separate bath for kids above. Loved the location, but be aware that the shops inside the village are only open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday this time of year. The restaurant in the village is also closed on Monday and Tuesday. The large antique malls are only open on Saturday or Sunday so check hours carefully. There are other shops (recommend thrift store across the street) and small restaurants nearby, particularly recommend the Park Place Diner for breakfast, The Riveria for dinner and the Beringer’s ice cream in Adamstown. Overall, a great stay.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was beautiful and conveniently located to many things to do in Lancaster County. The shopping and restaurant in the village was great and transported me back to my days stationed in Germany. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

Not what we expected
The unit needs updating and the area is not what we thought. Our unit had no air for 4 days and it was very uncomfortable and hard to sleep. The shops were not open and the restaurant was only open a few days. The blinds in the bathroom were broken and there was mold in the garage from an old water leak.

Amazing
We loved our stay here. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The only thing is the twin beds need updating. Everything else was perfect! We would definitely stay here again!

This unit was exactly as depicted and perfect for our Easter weekend getaway! We explored local antique stores and found a few great restaurants too. We would recommend this place!

Everything was great at this cute house, except for the fact that the entryway, downstairs bathroom, and garage had to be shared with the shipowners. This was not explained in the description and was very off putting. We were told to park next to the garage and almost everyday, the shop owner was parked in our space. This was a nuisance having 3 kids and having to walk extra for no reason and trying to keep them out of the entryway because we never knew when she would show up. Everything else was great, please change your description so people know what is happening when a random person shows up in the house they are renting

We were looking for a place to spend the Christmas holiday and Handel Haus was perfect! Not only a great location and surrounding area, it was perfect for us to be near some of children and grandchildren.
The house not only had everything we needed for our stay, it also gave us a place to decorate for the holidays and bake cookies with our kids.

We found this home to be perfect for our family for Thanksgiving week. We received clear instructions prior to arriving, so it was easy to enter the home and get settled. Kristin was easy to reach with questions when we had them.
The kitchen is very well-stocked with cooking supplies, plenty of soap for both hand-washing and the dishwasher.
The kids enjoyed the playground down the road, as well as just running around in the square. There was even a vendor show on Saturday before we left.
We found the entire home to be clean and comfortable for us. Thanks so much for sharing your home!

Extremely comfortable
My friend and I had a wonderful time. The two of us had our own space. I stayed in the upper level which has its own sitting area. Perfect place to recharge.
The village is quaint. It will be more awesome when the shops repopulate and open.
