A very unfortunate ending to our stay

Location was great.

Had a very unfortunate ending to our stay at Drift Hotel. It started off great, even extending our stay for an extra night. After check out, we got a notification that we were being charged $190USD for a robe that we apparently took with us. I help run a hotel myself, and would never take an item from the hotel room, especially if it was that much money. I even searched our bags high and low just in case it got packed unknowingly. It wasn't there. I told management I did not have it, and they said someone would be reaching out to resolve the issue. I've never heard from anyone. Very disappointing to say the least. Especially since I often stay in San Jose, and was excited to come back to this property with family and friends. Not happening anymore.

Absolutely will go back again!

The style! The robes, hats, little touches of design are really great. The staff was friendly and helpful.

There was not deeply hot or deeply cold water in the shower. It was all one temperature, which given I was there in August was not a big deal.

Beautiful, stylish, centrally located property at a great price. Just watch out for noise!

Overall, a really awesome property! The hotel is beautifully designed and considered, and the price point was great for what you are getting. The location right in town was also super convenient.

My ONLY complaint is that it can be very noisy. We were there at the beginning of the week, so this was not an issue every night, but some of the local bars play extremely loud music late at night, so you are subjected to the thump thump base next door. We're personally used to some noise, so we were still able to sleep, but it would be a problem for someone who is noise sensitive.

Nice overall except noise issue

Beautiful property and nice, central location. Walking distance to many top restaurants in the region. Staffs are super nice and welcoming

The noise. Couldn’t fall asleep for two nights due to loud nightclub nearby. Noise cancelling airpod pros don’t help as my room trembles with the bass. I later found out that a large square window appeared to be welded to the window opening from the outside. There is large gaps between the window pane and the opening, making sound travel into the room quite easily. Management switched us to a different room and solved the problem. They have been nothing but accommodating and pleasant. Definitely a saving grace to the whole situation. My suggestion is to Management is to do a thorough analysis of sealing and soundproofing for all rooms facing the nightclub (Building B). Seal the windows and doors well and consider swapping them with sound-controlled windows (double pane, offsetting thickness to start with). The walls seem to be concrete so should already be fairly sound-resistant (dense materials block sound well). Focusing on windows and doors would likely yield roi

Loved the constant and easy communication before check in and during our stay via text message. Loved the complimentary coffee service each morning in the beautiful courtyard/pool area. Staff was very helpful, especially the manager, and the property and rooms are very chic.

The shower in the middle of our room looks great in photos but isn’t super functional, with a shower head that makes it impossible not to get water all over the floor of your room. This wouldn’t be a problem in a very hot climate but when temperatures are in the low 70s, it’s uncomfortable to stay in a wet environment. There’s also a bar across the street that was incredibly loud until 2am on a Saturday night, but the hotel provides ear plugs that make it bearable.

A palm tree shaded oasis not far from the airport.

Jonathan and the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The vibe and overall aesthetic of the property is beautiful and calming. The food was convenient, casual and the shrimp tacos were tasty. The drinks were well priced and the bar options are extensive. It seemed to be in a more touristy part of the city, but it was in walking distance to tourist shops and some restaurants. The pool was small but there was always pool noodles, towels and seating cushions within close reach.

The text responses were a little sporadic, they had a slow down with the water (I think this was a city problem), the rooms are a little inconsistent (our group of 8 had 4 rooms total and all were different), the Wi-Fi made you re-log in consistently. If you’re on the B side of the property you’ll probably hear the loud loud music at night on the weekends from the bar across the street. There’s also limited surface space within the rooms, they could benefit from a side table or two.

Very good

The staff was very attentive and helpful. It's a very minimalistic, stylish hotel with a great location. We gelt it was a great value for the money. Also, delicious bar food and drinks!

You had to log into the wifi every time you got in the room again.

If it were not for the outstanding staff & guests I would’ve checked out the second night.

location was stone throws from everything. the unique architecture & theme was very different in a very good way.

I stayed about a month (30 nights) during sept. 2022 & there was full on building a hotel construction commencing before 8am & grinding away till past 9pm (that should be freaking illegal to make a guy Spider-Man himself in the dark doing dangerous construction work) in many of evenings right next door. not to mention at the bar of our own property doing remodeling/construction! But in defense of the property…prior to arrival I was informed that the bar would not be available due to remodeling, no mention of the construction next door or the nightclub activity till 4am. Anyway, I’m not sure what was more annoying, was it the night club across the street (literally less than 10 meters away) that was thumping 120++ decibel base to 4am four nights a week or the construction that started at about 7ish.

A total hidden gem that I am so glad we found!

Had such a lovely stay at Drift San Jose!! The staff was super friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the pool and grounds were beautiful picture-perfect! Loved being out of the party-centric Cabo area and in a more quaint, historic district with tons of cute restaurants and shops to walk to!

Everything was Great! Couldn't recommend the hotel and team more. I had a great stay, and it was central to historic Cabo San Jose, and walking distance from everything we wanted. Shops, Food, Bars, and nightlife.

Everything was perfect from check-in to check-out! The staff was incredible, the hotel was beautiful and the room was exactly what I was looking for! I got to try the bar and the drinks were the best I've had in Cabo!

There was nothing I didn't like. My trip was perfect and everything at the hotel was terrific. 10 out of 10!

Overall my stay was amazing! Drift really knows how to make you feel welcome. The room was clean. The pool was stunning and the bar had a great choice of signature drinks. It truly made our vacation magical. We are excited to book again soon!

Way exceeded our expectations and was a wonderful surprise in a beautiful and charming town.

The design was amazing -- rooms, showers, pool and bar were stunning. Staff was amazing, super friendly and very knowledgeable about local recommendations.

Drift is a curiosity but I will not be back.

The location is great. The young men on the staff are very friendly. The landscaping is lovely lo look at. The industrial feel to the design.

Horrendous loud music from a bar across the street till 4 am. Ear plugs are supplied in the room with the toiletries. The shower is a huge concrete tub in the middle of the room. The controls for the water are 8 feet away. So you need an attendant to regulate that for you while you bathe. No shower curtain, The toilet was not cleaned in 3 days. It is extremely difficult to walk around deep gravel and to ascend high steps without a hand hold. You climb into and fall out of Room 4 with its one foot high or more step. Breakfast is mediocre. True, there is fresh squeezed OJ, but the same cantaloupe cubes past their prime are not OK. No eggs. Plain white bread and a few slices of the same salami. Coffee was fine.

Loved it, good mezcal, good beer, great people!

People are very nice and really make an effort to talk to you and make sure you have a good time at the bar. They gave free Mezcal because my room wasn’t ready when I arrived, nice touch.

Pool is a little small, and other than thursday night theres not much going on, you just go in and out without anyone noticing most of the time. Some time is hard to find personel. I would like cleaning seevice to be a must every day and not upon request, but I get that its a kind of environmentaly friendly thing.

Perfect start to the trip! The hotel was comfortable and quiet!
