Location good for our requirements. Good food with sizable portions! Nice friendly helpful staff
Thought maybe a bit pricey for standard of room. With window open there was traffic noise at night but really that can't be helped!

The rooms have been recently refurbished, the staff were so helpful and the food was great value and home cooked.
The owner told us its a rule of the hotel "no body goes to bed hungry" and with the size of the portions you will not.

Welcoming team, large family room perfect for a night.
Nothing to add, we didn’t stay enough time to identify any major issues

Nothing of note.

Friendly team, clean rooms. Magical positioning of electrical sockets
Curtains in rm23 are too thin given that there are streetlights outside. Windows are double glazed but seals may need attention as had a lot of road noise coming through closed windows

The food and drink was exceptional for our breakfast and evening meal. The Bed linen wash fresh and clean access was spot on and the small garden was a bonus especially for our 2 dogs.
There was an intermittent hum throughout the night, which I think may have been the security cameras on the car park transmitting, I managed to block it out eventually and fell asleep. The bathroom Window had obscured glass but I felt uncomfortable to use the bathroom with the light on because people could still see through from the car park.

We loved our 2 night stay here, during a trip to UK from Australia.
Steve and his staff were very friendly and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone.
We had both evening meals in the pub and the food was delicious and great value for money.
The pub was cosy and friendly.
Steve sat in the bar chatting to us one of the nights- a great friendly guy!
Our room was an outside one, which suited us. Decent size, very clean and tidy. Heating great during the cold weather.
Outside location is beautiful. Lake at the back of the property was gorgeous and nice to walk around. Very picturesque. It had snowed the day we arrived, so looked even more beautiful. The lake completely froze over. Our 14 year old son loved skimming pieces of ice across the surface of the lake. Big novelty
for him, coming from Australia.
The breakfast included each day was great. A few hot options to choose from also the usual toast, cereals, yoghurts, tea/coffee etc. Steve the owner/Chef would ask us what we wanted and was very open to mixing up the menu if we preferred something different to what was offered .The yolk colour of the local eggs were amazing!! Steve said they only use regular local produce.
During our stay, Steve and his staff allowed us to use their commercial washing machine and drier for our clothes. This was completely complimentary and included all washing liquid. One morning we had to be out early.Steve’s laundry staff allowed us to put a load of washing on and said they’d “ take care of the rest”. When we returned for the day, our clothes had been washed and dried and placed back on our bed in the room. Amazing service!
On our last day, Steve allowed us a late check out at 3pm with no extra charge. This is not a usual service you normally get!
Plenty of room for parking.
Hard to find anything negative about this property, but a small amount of feedback would be to put some wine glasses in the room. Maybe some basic dishes like plates, bowls & cutlery. Some washing up liquid and sponge also.
There was a toaster and sink- so the extras to go with them would’ve been great.
We easily borrowed some wine glasses from the bar, so it wasn’t a major problem…. but just a suggestion.
Property is a little distance out of the town centre. Not sure of public transport but a car would be a must! Lovely peaceful location though.

The lady serving breakfast was very nice. The motel was set in a convenient location, right on the A303. Bathroom was clean.
Entry to hotel through rear door into dark, dingy hallway. Steep, long flight of stairs to narrow corridor and rooms on top floor. Flimsy building, poor build quality, and very noisy - other guests walking past sounded as loud as though they were in the room with me. TINY claustrophobic room, without a window perhaps 9ft x 8ft (single room) with barely room to walk round the 4ft bed to get to the dirty kettle, and a hard chair. No window (yet open countryside outside) but a filthy skylight set high above ceiling level and enclosed, giving sense of being in a box and not serving as a light source. Airless apart from the big hole in the wall into the hall/next room, with an attempt to conceal it behind the hard chair. Walls of bedroom filthy all over. Very poor state of repair and damage in bathroom. Badly in need of redecoration/something. Too tired to go down the stairs again, needed to sleep, or I would have left and found alternative accommodation. Breakfast room felt like a dungeon as the few windows had closed blinds - waste of a nice view outside to the rear of the motel. This was well below the standard for a £70 overnight stay.

Hilarious! Stopover on the way to Cornwall, wasn't expecting a huge amount for the money, and indeed it was probably the tiniest room ever and no window (but a skylight) - however! Excellent tea/coffee tray with biscuits and kitkats (!), shower was powerful and room was spotless, lots of plugs, very comfy bed. Ferocious air conditioning which was welcome in the hot weather. Really lovely girl on reception who arranged for me to check out early and provided an unexpected but delicious full cooked English to see me on my way.
Nothing! I wouldn't have liked to stay in that room for long, but it was perfect for a stopover and the staff couldn't have been lovelier.
