Excellent vacation in an gorgeous location, with very nice and kind hosts

We had one of the best vacations in Greece here. We liked everything in the location, from the apartment, big enough for a family of 4 with 2 children, with a big terrace and a beautiful view over the sea, to the very nice pool, which we were able to enjoy even late in the evenings, and the very nice orchard, from which our hosts repeatedly insisted we should pick up any fruit we wanted (figs, grapes, oranges, lemons and our favorite, kumquats). The hosts were very hospitable and kind, responding to any requests we had and surprising us with home made deserts and other goodies. We got a very warm welcome in the first day, when Dimitris told us about the various beaches and points of attraction in the area. We are happy we took his advice and so were able to go a to a different beach every day of the 10 we spent here. The area is beautiful, with various types of beaches and mainly used by the Greeks, so it is not very crowded, like the more touristic areas. The villa is in reasonable distances by car from all these attractions, and also reasonable close to the 2 cities, Preveza and Parga, where we went for shopping or restaurants. We also found nice taverns in the proximity, for those few days when we wanted to go out. But mainly, we managed by self-catering: shopping from Preveza's supermarket and meat store, cooking in the apartment's kitchen, which had all we needed for that. We also had access to fresh vegetables and fruits from Dimitris and Margarita's neighbors across the street, selling from their own garden, and to bread, milk and yogurt sold by a lady that came every morning at the villa. Before leaving, we went to 2 local olive oil factories and bought cans of olive oil, enough for our typical yearly needs. To sum up, an excellent vacation in a beautiful place, which we highly recommend !

Exceptional

Everything, from the first minute. But first of all, host, Margarita, very attentive, kind, guestful. Besides comfortable wonderful room, sea view, calmness and cleanness, comfortable bed and big living room,we also enjoyed each eve with cup of coffee with homemade jam of Margarita.It was really ideal stay!

We had a wonderful relaxing trip when staying at the Villa Alex.

Dimitris and Maragrita were very accommodating. We first arrived at 1AM and they greeted us warmly to show us our room. When we checked out early they made us a delicious breakfast because we would miss the bakery delivery. They were both very kind and we would highly recommend Villa Alex to anyone travelling in the area. Additionally, the balcony was incredible and provided beautiful views of the sea.

Relax and joy

Everything was super! Nice owners, superb views, sunsets, quiet location... I can describe it in thousend of words and still not cover the beauty of this place and the the people that runs it.

Our booking was not honoured, very disappointed.

At the time of booking we asked the owner which appartment we would be allocated, as it was difficult to tell from the photos. He emailed us back, saying he would allocate us the middle appartment in the yellow building; a 2 bed, 2 bath apt. which he said would be the most suitable one, as it was more spacious. When we arrived the apt. was already occupied by a party of 4. We were shown to the top floor (attic) suite and told we could move to the 2 bed apt. in 4 days time. We had been travelling, and living out of a suitcase, for 10 days and wanted to unpack and relax for the next 2 weeks. At no time were we advised that our original booking would not be honoured. As it was too late to find anywhere else, we agreed to spend the night there. However we found the accommodation very inconvenient, being in the roof space. There was no standing head room by the kitchen sink and the only wardrobe was in the eaves of the seating area, which one had to bend double to reach. Of the items listed as being in the suite there was no washing machine or tumble drier, no computer, video or games console. The toiletries were half-used items left by previous guests. Dimitris was hoping we would change our minds and stay, but we left the next day. In fairness he did not charge us for the one night and, having contacted Booking.com our reservation was cancelled. He could not give us an explanation as to why our apt. was occupied by others. It was very disappointing. We then had to spend considerable time finding other accommodation.
