Lovely house, although not as advertised. Thought we had a hot tub and a pool table, but three houses are advertised under one set of photos. Luckily one of the houses was empty and we were able to use that hot tub with the agreement of the letting company. Close to Ross on wye (10 min drive) great parking at the Ross Rowing club.
Felt like the property was miss advertised with the photos and glad I checked before we left. Garden set up is a bit wierd with having to go through the neighbours garden to get to the top with the dogs. Kitchen ceiling is very low and anyone over 5'11" ig going to be stooping.

Lovely village with friendly residents. Accommodation had alot of equipment and facilities. Comfortable beds and sofa's. Excellent selection of games, books and toys for the child that came with us. Lovely garden and patio area.
The DVD player wasn't working.

Lovely big kitchen diner area excellent for socialising
Hot tub lovely extra
Location nice quiet, but the local pub closed for refurbishment looks like it has been closed for some time, there was no work in progress was one of the reasons for booking

The cottage had all facilities needed for our stay .having towels provided was a useful extra . The room with the hot tub gave an extra space that was helpful during the day and would be a good space for stays later in the season.rooms were comfortable and the kitchen, though small, had everything needed. Position was ideal to navigate around the Forest of Dean. Local shop was great and very friendly the Berry Hut was a novelty for fresh fruit and eggs.
Not the cottage but the advertised local pub has been closed for a while.
Having never used one before I feel it should be clear that we were responsible for maintaining the hot tub and emptying the dehumidifier whether or not we were using it.

Lovely cottage. All the comfort if home. The dog friendly element was most important for us. We had a good family time. Lovely walks and nearby towns. Next time might apply for the one with a hot tub but it wasn't majorly important. Thank you
Nothing to not like

Lovely comfortable cottage. Lots of room for everyone and lovely and clean
The stairs may be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. I was concerned by 84 year old father would fall but he managed OK

Great hot tub. Really good location for getting to forest of Dean.

lovely cottage. Everything we needed. Only thing I would suggest is a runner in the bedroom as it leads to the top area of the garden and although our dog had very small paws it would be easier to keep clean. Not an issue as we used the one from the lounge. We had an amazing time and would definitely book again.

The super cute adorable cottage was very well appointed and clean. Well located for Cannop cycle trails. Great little local shop at the bottom of the road.
We stayed in the middle cottage (Owl) and had the benefit of a lovely garden room where we sat with some prosecco one evening.
Thanks to Phil for arranging a new WiFi router! Had a fab stay!

Great for a group of female friends, x4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a separate toilet. Lovely and warm, hot tub huge and everything you could need
Only niggle was that stair gate was awkward, especially when carrying luggage etc up and down stairs- would have been great to have facility to keep it open ( though understand the owner would not want any possibility of dogs upstairs )

Lovely house which had been nicely decorated for the Christmas period. Has everything you need for cooking meals plus the nearby village store is excellent. Easy to contact the owner if needed.
Some plumbing peculiarities with showers which were explained to us when we arrived.

Good location for exploring the country side. Great local shop but information needs updating as the pub and takeaway had closed down.
Thought we had booked the property with the pool table and hot tub.It was a nice character cottage though.

Super location with easy access to bus routes and a pleasant hand over from the owner. A comfortable fully equipped cottage.
We found and operated everything eventually, but printed instructions of appliance operation and the location of a vacuum cleaner, etc, would have been good. Not a problem, just a time saver.

We loved everything. We wanted a relaxing break away and this is exactly what we got. The lovely little village of Lea was the perfect setting, very calm and peaceful. The local shop had everything we needed for our stay, however there was a Morrison’s 10 minutes away. The cottage itself was beautiful, lots of character and clean and tidy.
We had a lovely time using the hot tub and playing pool. There was a bbq set up ready for us which we happily used one night.
Dog friendly and the garden was plenty big enough for our boy to run around and explore.

We had plenty of room for two couples, one single, a toddler and a dog. The space worked really well for us. The hosts were great; really friendly and welcoming. We had one small issue with the coffee maker, which upon letting them know they resolved literally within minutes, to our complete satisfaction. Very impressive reaction! The beds were really comfortable and the bedrooms good sizes. Although the shower pressure wasn't fantastic, it was certainly adequate, and better than expected after having read some of the reviews. They provided beautifully thick, large bath towels - the best we've ever had anywhere!
It was a bit of a hassle having to go upstairs and through a bedroom to get out into the garden, but once there it was a nice spot. It just made eating meals out there a bit difficult, so we used the little paved area outside the kitchen, but it was tiny. We managed though, and it wouldn't deter us from using the property again.

Quiet location
The advertised public house/restaurant was derelict ,access to the raised garden was difficult

We were met by the owners who let us in and showed us the property.
Unfortunately, one guest in an adjoining property had dogs that barked constantly. The other side property had guests who used the hottub with loud music until gone midnight.

The cottage was very easy to find/location. It was clean, homely and quirky. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The locals especially the corner shop staff were very friendly.
We had a very comfortable stay at the cottage, it was easy to find straight off the motorway.
The advert for these cottages aren't clear as people are under the impression the cottage has a hot tub and pool table, it had neither. The 2 and 4 bedroom cottage has a hot tub. These details need to be amended on the website.
There needs to be grab rails at the top of the stairs. My elderly mother struggled to go up and down the stairs.
Also there should be a step in front on entering the cottage.
Also the 4th bannister rail (from the top of the stairs) is loose.

The cottage itself was lovely. Full of character. 3 good bedrooms and a lounge with plenty of room. Great outside space, especially for 2 dogs.
Water pressure was dire in both showers. This meant it was nigh on impossible to wash hair. We had to buy dry shampoo.
Although the kitchen was well equipped, it was lacking in knives, leading to another purchase. The can opener was broken. The range looks nice, but not very practical to cook on.
The bedroom leading outside really needs much thicker curtains.

Beautiful cottage, friendly host. A car is a must as not much locally. Nice for resting beautiful scenery
Disappointed that local pub and takeaway were closed, difficult to get taxi and nothing really open midweek.

Hot tub was amazing. Great location for exploring the area. Fantastic little place to stay.
Missing a few items in the kitchen, only one small bowl and the can opener didn't work.

Location was good. A very good village shop was a few metres away.
The door to the downstairs toilet stuck in a closed position and had to be pushed hard to release it.

The gardens, summer house and jacuzzi area were amazing and the kitchen/diner in the larger property were perfect for our celebration weekend.
The kitchen in the smaller property was well equipped but very small.

The cottage was great and has everything you need but be careful. The photos have images of a Jacuzzi and a pool room but this cottage does not have either. The owners told us that they have asked Booking.com to remove the pictures a number of times without success. We also told Booking.com but were told to take it up with the owners. It was a disappointment and if we had been really upset we would have sought a refund but the cottage was excellent so as long as you book knowing it does not have these then it is great value and ideally located

Everything you could want and expect within a cottage of this small size - with the bonus of a spacious conservatory with baby snooker table and large hot tub. House and multi-level garden neatly designed to make best use of available space. Location excellent for getting around the area - close to the A40 without being at all noisy. Wifi reliable. Arrival/departure easy. Parking outside straightforward. Beds comfortable. Owners very easy to deal with.
Not a practical problem, but there were a couple of gently dripping taps that need fixing.

Very clean and dog friendly.
A truly comfortable home from home.
The property was great for us but wouldn’t be good for someone who wasn’t good with steps.
8.0
3 comfortable bedrooms, the house generally gave us plenty of room. Nice having a two tier garden, we used the top tier every evening. Very convenient for the pub as well.
One main criticism was the shower downstairs which just gave you a dribble of water which was really annoying. Also, there was no stand up shower upstairs and only half the toaster worked. The annoying thing was that these complaints had been made by previous guests and nothing had been done about them.
