What a place! Clean, comfortable and you get the lagoon all to yourself in the evening.

La vue et le cadre
L’accueil et le manque de professionnalisme de l’hôte. Tout repose sur la vue mais rien d’autre n’est fait pour que l’on se sente bien! Les repas sont mauvais et l’hygiène à déplorer

Closest hostel to the lake humantay
Very friendly owner that also has a shop to buy snacks etc.
Free coffee and tea all day long
Good dinner (pasta)
Don‘t book it on booking.com, we paid twice as much!
When you book it directly, a private cabin costs per person 50 soles for a night (incl. breakfast) + 15 soles for dinner
No hot shower
Toilet used by day trip tourists as well

Location was amazing, right in front of the starting point to humantay lake.
When we came here it was rain was pouring down and it was extremely cold. There was some tea to warm up, but this was not enough for everyone. However, the staff refused to give some extra hot water to heat up with this cold - because both the common room and the cabins were freezing cold.
The staff also knew that we did not understand them, but they barely made an effort to help us out - in English or otherwise.

The cabins were clean and the beds were so comfortable and had plenty of thick blankets so we did not get cold. It was fun to stare at the stars through the clear roof. The WiFi was good considering the remote location. The dinner and breakfast were amazing and we ordered the packed lunch to go which was very good (big rice dish). It was fun to sit at the table in the dining room and meet all the other travelers. Diego was so friendly and accommodating with all our requests. Highly recommend.
A few minor things: there could be more outdoor chairs as there is a lovely courtyard to sit in the beautiful surroundings. It would be nice if the woman’s shower was available (as everyone had to use the men’s shower when we were there).

Location was good. Generally an area where people stay on their first night of a self guided Salkantay trek. The best part of the property was the low expectations it set for the remaining hotels. Oddly it had very strong internet. It’s ok if you need a place to stay, but just know things will get better further along the trek!
The facilities felt Un maintained and the patio for each room is almost non existent. There is no place to site or relax aside from the small shed like rooms. The meals were disappointing compared to the other 3 places we stayed on our trek. Diego the owner was not friendly and appeared to be Nickle and diming along the way. People in the dorms reported of not receiving toilet paper or towels. If you try to use usd, they offer an exchange on 3 Sol to 1 USD, which is poor. I understand this hotel is in a remote location with higher operating costs, but in comparison to our other stays on the trek it was the worst, and other hikers agreed.
