Excellent. Very safe area. Hermanus is really a gem of a town! go out explore, there are caves near Gansbaai 20 minutes away. Walking on the beach at sunset is a must.

The location had beautiful views of the sea and mountains. The self catering facilities was well equipped and the host was very helpful and friendly
I didn't like the fact that our stay excluded breakfast. I also didn't like the shared bedroom balcony or the steep stairs

The staff is friendly. I am thankful that I could park on the inside of the property and that the guesthouse stored my bicycle. That was very kind thank you.
The room that I booked was given to anther couple with no explanation as to why. My room was very small and not that clean. The stoop was not swept and cigarette buts was not thrown away. For the price no breakfast were served.

The view
The room was not clean. Dust were on the floors. The bathroom floor and shower were dirty. When we woke up in the morning and we opened the door to make coffee in the kitchen, the dog's poo was all over. It is a big dog in the house.

There are too many stairs in the room. The stairs on the third floor are a little slippery

We have to walk through the house to get to our room. They had big dogs in the house. I love dogs, but the house smelled of dog very badly.

Very friendly host and staff. Rooms cleaned to a good standard. House above an amazing stretch of beach with fun beach restaurant (dutchies). I wasn't aware that the host had dogs (maybe my fault for not reading small print)- this should be highlighted.

It was clean and the room was a good size. Needed airing - smelt musty.
No mention of dogs at the property. One person in the party terrified of them. Owner could not understand this. Small pool outside our room a nice feature but unclean so could not be used. The fridges in the rooms were not switched on. Electrics fairly basic all plugged into one extension lead after another. It would have been helpful to know when outages are - no provision for loadshedding - times or flasks hot water etc.

The Ease of Access was very good , the Bedding was super comfortable and the pool very much enjoyable. We had a medical emergency and had to leave the one night but was back the next night and the arrangements was done to perfection and with ease. The facilities and service was really exceptional.
There really was nothing that we didnt like.

booked room with an ocean view, however the owner booked the room twice , so was given away to another guest, she gave us a dated back room. the room was good but not what we booked .
the whole double booking of the room the owner blamed it on booking.com since the company was taken over by Americans and when she heard we were Americans , she noted , so you know how it is . we were ….???? don’t know what that had to do with it as we never before had problems with booking.com . she also mentioned she had me 2 days before my booking and we never showed up. i showed her several times my confirmed booking for the room and day we arrived. she was not the friendliest host. it was an uncomfortable situation.
Instead of enjoying our bottle of wine on the balcony with ocean view, we went to a restaurant and for our morning breakfast we left early and also enjoyed that at a restaurant as we were not going to have it in our room. this was our holiday and last day near the ocean .

Location and room were wonderful. Nice view. Clean crisp linen.
It was not clear from the photos that our room shared the balcony with the room next door. We were woken a couple of times by our neighbours coming on to the balcony in the middle of the night. And then having sex in the morning. It felt very claustrophobic and because it was raining, decided to cut the weekend short.

Nice linen and comfortable beds. Interesting art.
Various aspects did not meet our expectations. This is listed as a pet-friendly facility, but the resident pets were quite territorial and attacked our dog on several occasions. They often came into our space and even made a mess within our living space - took things out of the rubbish bin and 'peed' in front of the rooms. There are no adequate outside areas (such as lawns) for pets. An elderly guest was also snapped at by the Weimerheiner.
We had to share a 'private' balcony and all other areas with strangers - this was not made clear on the website or upon arrival. There is a small outside braai on the balcony (2x3m) that is supposed to service 10 people but could only fit 3 people at a time. The kitchen is also ill- equipped.
The property has a pool, but the gate to the pool was locked most of the time. One also had to get through the washing on the line to get to the pool .....
The geysers were often switched off resulting in cold showers.
Nothing was done/supplied to accommodate load shedding.
Communication by the host was not always aligned - promises were made, but not kept in terms of room allocation.
During a relatively calm family dinner, we were requested to be quiet from 22h00 in order to not disturb other guests.
Overall not a good experience for us as a family and our dog.

Lovely host and location. Great sea views from our room.
The owners Weimaraner was aggressive at first and went straight for our puppy's neck as we walked in. Luckily our pup was on a leash and we could grab him away. From reviews, this happens often.

The views from the room was great, but you have to trek up 2 flights of stairs to the rooms, not for the frail or unfit.
Th room was not cleaned properly, some garbage from the previous guests was still in the room waste bin. The stairs can be taxing for frail or unfit, especially if you have a lot of or heavy luggage.

The Nantucket is on the slopes of Hermanus and there was a wonderful view of the sea from the bedroom, plus a little balcony and table and chairs. The beds were comfortable and there was a selection of tea and coffee, and the room itself did not disappoint.
We had arranged to check in at a certain time but when we arrived no-one was there to let us in. It was pouring with rain and we had to stand in the rain to try to raise someone. We tried to contact the owner several times without a result. Later, we were told the owner was actually overseas and the contact details were therefore incorrect. We returned to the accommodation around 5 pm and someone then let us in. There were two large dogs in the house, plus a smaller one, and the house smelt doggy and there was dog pooh on the driveway. We like dogs but we were not warned about their presence on the booking.com site. When we left in the morning, no-one was around to let us out. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing stay. We will not come again.
