The only thing I would suggest is to replace the grill and the dish washer needs to be mounted in the cabinet. It is very loose and can be pulled out if not careful. Other than that we had a great time and loved the place.

We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of this cozy cabin. Maid service should be considered. Very dusty, cobwebs, dirty floors. Pots and pans were put back in the cabinet dirty.

As others noted there are lots of back country roads in order to find the cabin. The host prior to our arrival gave very detailed directions as well as clear information on how to get in. I appreciated the advance communication & prompt responses to questions we had as we brought our dog with us.
Upon entering the cabin we noted that it was clean. There is helpful information though out. The online description & pictures matched the actual cabin. The price felt very well worth it.
There was a minor issue with the front door lock, that we chalked up to “stuff happens”. The host was again very communicative!
The host is an artist and there are wildlife pictures hung on the walls that adds to the charm!
If we can we take our dog with us, this cabin was very dog friendly. The area is great for hiking. I will say you do have to drive to the trails but there are many options within 15min. We had several great hikes. I recommend stopping by the visitor center in Desoto state park, they were very helpful and had great directions to hikes with water falls.
Last but not least, the hot tub works!! We enjoyed this extensively! The cover is a bit old but the hot tub itself is fantastic. We kept the cover on when not in use per the hosts request. We also made sure to shower before each use and loved that the shower was well designed and enhanced the experience. The deck is very private so it was very relaxing.

We had a wonderful time. This was exactly what we needed, a quiet weekend getaway! The Desoto State Park and Little River Canyon were not to far away and we enjoyed both places!

This one bedroom cabin was perfect for the two of us. The setting was very quiet and private. The cabin was very clean and nicely furnished and decorated.

The cabin is cozy, but spacious. It’s conveniently located to Mentone, Desoto State Park and Falls and the Little River National Preserve. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a fun couple of days. The host, Larry, was very easy to work with. We’re already planning our next visit!

This cabin was absolutely stunning. Its so peaceful and relaxing. I loved the feel of the cabin, it just felt so homey. The hot tub was a plus. I loved watching the family of deer in the yard. I also loved all the hand painted canvas work. We will definitely be coming back soon. Thanks for letting us enjoy your cabin.

I initially thought this was a little closer to Mentone, but with our available dates to celebrate our first anniversary, it still turned out to be a wonderful choice. Very close to DeSoto for exploring there, and less than 15 minutes to Mentone for an awesome sunset at Brow Park, awesome food at the eclectic restaurants (just be aware they roll up the sidewalks about 8 pm on weekends - LOL) and cool little market and shops.
Cabin was clean and cozy, host was informative and communicative, enjoyed the hot tub each evening. We had a lovely stay, recommend this host.

This property is excellent. We had a relaxing quiet stay. Close to several great restaurants. Also close to Desoto State Park. Scenery was awesome.

On first glance, all looked fine.
On the plus side, it was more spacious than expected.
Very roomy. Plenty of tissue, soap, towels, etc....

It soon became clear that the place needs a deep cleaning and the outside "yard" area needs maintenance.
Apparently, VRBO, made a mistake in communicating with the owner on our booking dates. He knocked on the door wanting us to leave. It was an entire day early! I was kind of upset. Fortunately, I had proof of my booking and the owner apologized profusely, but it was still upsetting.

The house was as advertised. It was very clean, cozy, and inviting. The location was perfect and ideal for all of the hiking, kayaking, and site-seeing we wanted to do. The hot tub was icing on the cake. The grill provided was quite nice, even though we didn't utilize it. I would have loved to have a fire under the canopy of trees and stars, but throughout our stay, the nights were too warm. The only downside of our stay was that it was too short. Mentone is magic. Larry's home was wonderful. If you are lucky enough to stay here, check out his artwork, which graces many walls in this home.

Really enjoyed my time at this sweet cabin. It was perfect for me and my dog. We both had a great time enjoying the outdoors and coming back to the cabin to relax. The hot tub was a great bonus.

First Off and Full Disclosure: Google Maps won't recognize the address. It defaults to the center of Mentone, within walking distance of most everything. That's what I thought I was getting when I booked. That's GOOGLE's fault, not the owner's. That said, the cabin is not too far away from most anything you might want to do in Mentone. Someone has thoughtfully put a Google Map pin named "Sweet Dreams" and that will take you right to the cabin, address notwithstanding.
It's *very* well appointed, more so than most cabins I've stayed in. I'm a cook and the kitchen is very easy to work in. The appliances are all modern and in good working order.
The grill is gas and the host supplies it, so I didn't need to worry about charcoal. We didn't use the firepit but there was a generous supply of scrapwood there that we might have used if we wanted. The hot tub was very nice and easy to use also.
Internet service was rock solid, although cell service in the area is spotty (also not the owner's fault, just how it is in that area).
Stock up on Groceries at the Walmart in Fort Payne. There's a Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar down the hill from the main intersection in Mentone that can fill any gaps you might have. There's basically two decent restaurants in town, Wildflower Cafe and The Hatter. We've eaten at both and both are wonderful. Plan on a wait list at Wildflower, Hatter is off the beaten path and therefore less busy but wonderful food.

My husband and myself had a very relaxing time. It was ver peaceful and comfortable. The hot tub was great! We slept very comfortably. Checking in and out was very simple. I would definitely recommend it to those looking for a relaxing time away from home.
