Just two hours from Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties and 50 minutes from Palm Springs. “Sky Rock Lodge" is located in the Fern Valley end of Idyllwild. The house is an easy walk to Strawberry Creek and the main town of Idyllwild with its shops, gourmet restaurants, cafes, churches, galleries, and movie theater. “Sky Rock Lodge” sits minutes away from the Humber Park hiking trails and Tahquitz Rock on the top of the San Jacinto Mountains. This beautifully decorated mountain home sleeps 8 and has an open feeling featuring two bedrooms, a spacious loft and two full bathrooms, all with high quality linens and towels. The Living Room/Dining Area and well appointed galley Kitchen are GREAT for entertaining or a more intimate getaway! Three televisions, VCR, DVD and WiFi make it possible to work and play from this mountain retreat! The deck with Spa overlook one third an acre of mountain wildflowers, Pine and Black Oak Trees, Appalachian Bentwood Furniture, Adirondack and Log Circle sitting areas. The gentle front slope makes a perfect “beginners” toboggan run and play area for young and old! The garage holds a washer/dryer and lots of room for toys. The cabin was quiet, relaxing, and had everything that we needed for a short getaway. I loved that this property was back away from the street. My kids and dogs loved exploring around the property and my dogs loved the fenced yard. We were able to relax in the spa and had everything that we could possibly need provided by the cabin- including beach towels! Every single person that I spoke with between the booking, check-in, and check-out process was friendly, helpful, and very welcoming.

Beautiful house with all the amenities. Well equipped kitchen. Very cozy and comfy place. Loved the outside dinning area.
Jacuzzi and bathrooms are little dated. Jacuzzi only two people can sit and takes a while to heat up.

Great place to stay, we found it very comfortable for our group (4 adults, 2 teens, and 2 dogs) and we would consider staying here again if/when we return to idyllwild. Cabin had all the conveniences we needed, and having A/C was a nice bonus. Loved having breakfast and dinners on the patio and hot tub in the evenings. Nice that cabin was set back from the road and had lots of trees, which made the property feel fairly private. Plenty of shady areas out in the yard to enjoy. Short drive to town center and various hiking trails. A few minor maintenance items noticed but nothing that impacted our enjoyment of the cabin and property.

Location was great, we were a few minutes walking distance from the town. Home was nice, they had everything you needed to cook, plenty of games for the family, and lots of space in each room. The only bad things were the coffee maker took 1.5 hours to get the coffee brewed and we found a couple of things from the previous guests, so not sure how well it was cleaned.

Generally as described in listing but house smells strongly of cigarette smoke inside. Would not recommend to folks sensitive to smoke or smells. Property managers also have a pretty large list of disclaimers they ask you to sign and items they want to upcharge for, so it’s not the friendliest vibe.

Would have rated it higher, but the rental polity left a bad taste, and will probably won't return because of it. $25-50/hr for early check-in/out is a little aggressive, especially if the are unreasonably at at 4PM and 10 AM. Also, no cell signals on the property and wifi is spotty at best.

The location was a little less isolated than we'd hoped, but still nice and quiet. Check-in snafus due to short staff were well handled and everyone we dealt with was kind and professional. The house itself was pretty funky (old blinds, cobwebs on the windowsills etc,) but was cozy and well appointed. And it snowed!

Sky Rock Lodge was a delightful and cozy cabin retreat. Ample space for the four of us, lovely fireplace, windows to enjoy the outside snow, space for games, great kitchen, private master bedrooms and an unbeatable loft bedroom. Although we had extra beds and could have taken one of the masters, three of us chose to share the cozy loft! Management went above and beyond servicing us... kudos to each of them, thank you!

We had an overall comfortable stay. We liked the open layout of the cabin and location. The house is a bit worn and could use a few improvements, i.e. tiles in the bathroom and squeaky bedroom doors. Otherwise, it fit our needs and had plenty of kitchen items to cook.

Rustic and quiet. Quirky is a nice way to describe the property. It has all the amenities, but sadly the drive way is difficult with the trees making the turn difficult especially for anything larger than a sedan.
Overall though you’ll enjoy the property once you’re out of the car.

Sky Rock Lodge is very comfortable. We loved the location, the property itself, and the layout of the house. The kitchen was easy to use, the bedrooms private and nice, and the deck was lovely to have breakfast outside.
