*Jade Oasis\/ Palila*
About this apartment hotel
Jade Oasis is a 6 room resort designed in asian style. I had a recurrent dream of this home design . I kept drawing different versions of it until I took it to my architect and decided to build it. It's a U-shaped resort with a rain filled hot tub in the center courtyard. Shoji screens at the entry gates. Our water for showers and baths are supplied from a 10,000 gallon rain catchment system and our electricity is supplied by a solar system. Each room has 14 inch queen sized memory foam mattresses with Bali batik bedspreads. Microwave, mini refer and coffee maker and coffee. Water, snacks and juice. There are heaters and fans in the rooms. Flat screen TV's and cable. Lanai's with dining tables and chairs. Our elevation is 4000 ft. We are in the forest with many birds including pheasant.

Very poor - while John is in Thailand.
Arrived 7PM. Another party was occupying my room. The other party couldn't gain access to THEIR room, so they took MINE. No-one was around. They called the phone number many times and left messages. The room they took was completely unacceptable. The 'wall of mold spores' hit me in the face as soon as I entered. No way I could stay for even 2 seconds, or 2 minutes - never mind two nights. The other party reported mold on the bedding/elsewhere. How could one sleep in moldy bedding? There were six doors to six rooms, but eventually a young lady stepped out of a 7th door (her residence) and said she was the 'host'. She must have heard the prolonged conversation (just outside her door) between our two unrelated parties, not having their own rooms and about the unacceptable accommodations - but did NOT step out to help until much later. Obviously the owner eventually called her to intervene. She just told us that we could go somewhere else. When asked about "where?", she told us one place, but she didn't know if there was any availability, especially on such short notice - - for TWO unrelated parties. It was dark and rainy (no streetlights), my phone had no reception. and the internet was unusable.
John said he'd refund the money for both parties, but accused us of yelling at his wife. We left at 8PM. I heard they had an 83 yo woman to 'clean' the rooms. Obviously NOT. There was old food in the fridge.
YMMV if John is there.

Property was clean. Room is fairly basic with other rooms fairly close (but surprisingly quiet). Hot tub was very useful coming off of e-bike tour and freezing. Fresh muffins and fruit each morning is a nice touch.

Short 2 day stay . Very close to the national park. Allowed us to get to trails early. That was the purpose of our trip.

After initial confusion on where this property actually was (the map and description was wrong on Expedia), John was extremely good at communicating and getting location cleared up. This property is tucked into the forest. The room is small but clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. One small complaint was we had three people in our room and was only provided coffee service and towels for two. I know if we’d asked we could have had more. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean. The owners do a very good job with the property. Very well lit. The rooms were clean and it came with some breakfast Which was a wonderful surprise. Two yogurts, four muffins, two papayas, water, and plenty of coffee. They also provide water to fill your water bottles with. The decor may not appeal to everybody but it is very clean and well done. We would definitely stay there again. Plenty of towels and a small refrigerator. They also have plates and silverware in the room if you bring your own food.

We had a short stay at Jade oasis but all three of us slept very well.
Went we first walked in, the air definitely felt damp, but we opened the sliding door and put the standing fan in front of it and that helped immensely. It so tough in this climate to keep everything dry, but the flora and fauna makes it worth the hassle.
One of our group used the cute little patio out the back sliders to work remotely for the morning. What a beautiful setting!
We used the double and the single bed and they were both comfortable.
Jade oasis is super close to Volcanoes House so it worked out perfectly for us.

My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay at this delightful motel. We had some minor needs and they were promptly addressed. We really enjoyed the homemade muffins and the delicious in the room coffee. Very close to Volcano National Park and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable room especially the bed. Well-equipped with snacks, coffee, and equipment for preparing own meals if needed. John, the owner, was friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed our stay.
