This cosy cottage has undergone a recent refurbishment and now offers a lovely quiet location in the bustling village of Bowness and within easy walking distance of Lake Windermere. It affords guests a great base for a restful break at any time of the year. A comfortable lounge with original lakeland slate floor, and two sofas where you can wrap yourselves around the warmth of the open fire and tune into the TV or simply chat late into the evening over a few drinks. This then leads through to the kitchen area, which is well-equipped for cooking up a delicious meal for the whole family and getting together in the beautifully appointed, seperate dining room to the front of the cottage. There are two well-presented bedrooms with ample lighting and storage and beautifully appointed bed linens and accessories. On this floor also is the house bathroom with shower over bath. To the outside, an enclosed rear yard with seating area, where you can soak up the evening sun during the warmer months, with a glass of something chilled! The village of Bowness has all you need for an easy self catering holiday with a varied selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from. There is also a well stocked Co-Op and Tesco Express close by and one mile away in the village of Windermere there is a small Sainsbury’s, larger supermarket at Booths and a butchers. Plenty of art galleries and gift shops to wander around in and an ample supply of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and not forgetting plenty of local walks which can be started direct from the cottage. Merrylocks Cottage is a cosy and characterful cottage and the ideal retreat for a relaxing break in the lakes.
