This old little beach house has a lot of character. We enjoyed the view on the bay very much. The private beach is a short walk away which even is an advantage for families with small kids for safety.
The house is clean but a bit mixed up and unorganized. Very little storage for belongings and grocery.

The charm and location
Nothing. Would go back tomorrow.

Waking up to a beautiful view, falling asleep to the sounds of the bay. Being able to eat on the back porch and enjoying the view. The location of the fire pit is nice, with the bay right in view. The scenery is the plus in this review. We also were given a ok to arrive at 2 pm which was appreciated.
Now the not so positive... upon arrival a very large, empty trampoline stand in the front yard, it has no purpose other than needing to be taken to the dump. Although early arrival was good for 2pm, the owner was still there. Very kind but quickly started clearing the air about not so positive reviews. My husband and I never asked, so we found it strange to be offered information that hadn't been questioned. Besides feeling somewhat uneasy at this time, upon walking around the property a very large wooden post that is broken at ground level is sticking out of the ground , very sharp and pointed tip, a definite safety hazard for anyone. I had to put a bucket over it to avoid an accident. In the back yard was a ground level trampoline with a large rip in the top and busted rusty metal bars underneath facing upward. I could not let my children on it. If so, that would have been a hospital visit involving a tetanus shot and stitches most likely. To sum it up, the house would be cute but needs an incredible amount of work done to it. It's in very very poor condition inside and out. Beams on the back porch are falling down, rusty nails everywhere. A very strange leaning tower in the kitchen with a microwave and then large coffee maker on top. No outlets available, what was available, overloaded power strips. I had to move the coffee maker to the living room for a suitable location and plug. Mentioned 500$ fine for going onto the neighbors beach or walking through at first seemed understandable, after seeing the home and assessment of the area, I realized that this home is purely a money maker. A good 100,000. needs to be invested back into this home to make it liveable, and most definitely if it will continue to be rented. Countless very serious safety hazards are everywhere. Also 185 dollar cleaning fee and you have to take your own trash 12 miles away to the dump.

I can't even think of a single thing
This was absolutely the worst stay I've ever experienced. Between nothing being as advertised, blood on sheets and doors, doors that won't even close or go into the door jam, no linens, sewage in the yard that I fell into and ruined my phone, and the water smelled like sewage which left an oily sheen all over my body that soap wouldn't even rinse off, barely functioning electric, no stove or washer and dryer as advertised, the beach access that they advertise is the neighbors that you may not trespass on without a $500 fine, no cell service and spotty Wifi, the property manager wouldn't answer calls when you could call, the floor was so uneven it was like a skate park, broken tiles, doors, and cabinets, over half of the screens on the porch and gazebo were ripped out or torn blowing in the wind, ants and black mold near the refrigerator, no tv in the master room so my husband slept on the broken couch covered with plywood in the living room, everything was powered by electric strips and nearly melted the charger when we did use an outlet, locks on doors were either pointless because they didn't reach the other side of the door or broken, the rafters and columns on the porch were rotting and falling out, the walls literally move, dog poop, trash and tools, and exercise equipment in the yard, and cracks in the walls so large that you can literally see outside through them. Not to mention the huge dead bird that my husband had to clear from the beach after it'd been there for God knows how long. They expect you to take the trash to the dump from their "container" that is covered in wasp nests, no thank you. I can't think of a single positive thing about this house. This house looks like a crack shack and needs to have a city inspector visit because it is not livable and DEFINITELY shouldn't be rented.

I loved being so close to the water.
I liked the gazebo and gorgeous view along with the quiet & solitude.
There was no information about where things were like the key & the heat.
There were electrical issues: not enough outlets & many lights did not come on.
I did not like the garbage situation where I was required to take the trash to the dump especially not knowing the area.

It was a perfect little cottage with the most amazing view. I wanted to get away to focus on my creativity - 1 day here and I was over my writers block! The property manager was also so responsive and helpful!
As a solo female traveler, the area was super safe, and town was easily accessible and also safe.
A bit of a warning for cold weather travelers like me - there is no central heat. There are some space heaters, but bring warm clothes!

The location was amazing! So peaceful hearing the waves crashing and having a breeze. We got very lucky to have such nice weather. I spoke to the property manager upon arrival, when we I tried to reach out through text about lights around the property, I unfortunately did not hear back.
There was not much that we did not like. Could have been a bit cleaner, and closer access to the beach area. Also the AC unit and a few fans were very loud and made it hard to watch tv.

The cottage was so cute and cozy. The beds were very comfortable. The view was amazing and hearing the constant the sound of the waves was soooo relaxing. We’d definitely stay again.
The sofa was small. Although there was extra chairs more comfortable seating would have been appreciated.
The biggest problem was the price on VRBO website was cheaper. Booking.com stated they honor lower prices but could not reach a live person - the number kept disconnecting. When I tried to reach out to Evolve management the phone number sends you in a loop. I also tried to email but no response. A live person should really manage the booking. Very frustrating!

The place has privacy, and the shallow beach is safe for kids. Kayaks were a welcome activity, as otherwise there’s little to do there.
The place needs updating. Inside is pretty tight, walls have cracks so that daylight is visible, floor is uneven and roof was leaking after a heavy rain. The furniture set up is not comfortable - no counter space in the kitchen for food prep, had to operate a coffee maker on the chair, living room is not comfortable for relaxing with one couch which fits 2 adults and a few wooden chairs.
Outside, the back yard needs proper grading as it retains water and gets muddy becoming unusable. After a heavy rain, the backyard turned into a pond when we were there.
Overall location is quite remote - narrow dirt roads, bad cell phone reception, nearby towns are pretty depressed with very few restaurants and attractions.

Special touches from the host made the stay feel special. A bottle of wine and flowers were a beautiful gift to receive upon arrival.
The location of the house right beside the water was beautiful. However, it rained an entire day and the waves crashing against the rocks in front of the property was a little unnerving. The property manager was reassuring but there were a few leaks in the house. Didn’t diminish the trip. Just an FYI.
There was a snel that would occasionally appear that smelled of sewer.

A very relaxing place to stay! My husband and I were in search of much needed R&R and we weren't disappointed! If your looking to get away from the crowds this could be a great place to stay. It was literally right on the water. The views were wonderful!
There wasn't any beach area at the house. They did however have access to the beach a short distance from the house.
