If you don't like spiders, don't rent this house. There are dozens of spiders and nests all around the deck, railing, sliding glass doors, windows, even in our bedroom, yikes! Yep, one big one, in our bed! scared us to death. If it were my rental, I'd spray a few times per year! Two lights in the kitchen were out or not functioning so it made it hard to see to cook, they needed specialty lightbulbs apparently so they couldn't be easily replaced? Light out in bedroom also. Great beach, great location, house is small and very cluttered and there weren't much paper goods, empty garbage bags, or soap for example. Owner should stock these items well. We rented for 10 ish days and ran out of bathroom soap, toilet paper, foil, paper towels and garbage days after about 2 days. Vacationers don't really like having to go to the store for garbage bags and soap... right? If you do not like clutter (decor, vases, shells, art, books, beach stuff) this might not be a good house for you. Clutter every where, stuff everywhere on every surface, we'd have to move things, to get some counter space.
Again, best beach ever. So, location, location, location. Can not beat the beach for swimming, clamming, views.

Fun house to stay in, great location with amazing views, and surprisingly Hood Canal was warm enough to be great for swimming! Would love to come back.

Stayed for the weekend and loved being able to bring our dog to enjoy our weekend getaway. The property is right on the beach which is amazing - recommend bringing good water shoes (not just flip flops) as the oyster shells can cut up your feet if you slip. We really appreciated having kayaks available to take out. The deck is fantastic and so nice to sit on in the evening to watch the sunset and relax listening to the water.
Great communication with the host, Greg, house was clean, great kitchen amenities. Would stay again.

The property is well-equipped, very cozy & comfortable. The bedroom suite above the garage is a pleasant surprise. Everything is spotless and inviting. The deck is shaded & large, providing a very pleasant place to just chill and stare at the water.

We really enjoyed our short stay. Unfortunately it was during a heatwave and temps were around 98 degrees. We were unable to use the loft area at all due to extreme heat, but were able to make things work out ok in main house. We spent most of our time in the water and on the amazing deck. We couldn't get the BBQ to work, but didn't really care because it was so hot! We took a drive and purchased fresh oysters from Taylor's, which my 4 year old granddaughter consumed the most of!!
Hope they can figure out a way to ge a/c in upper loft, I would definitely return for a longer stay:)

This was our second stay at this lovely property on Hood Canal. We wanted to stay longer since it was such a great place! Kids loved being out on the water all day which is so conveniently located off the deck and with great kayaks and a floating dock. We also did some clamming and found some great oysters and mussels on the beach. The only hiccup was that a longer stay meant we ran out of some items (provided soaps) or didn't have enough bath towels for all of our party (four adults, two kids, one infant). And there isn't laundry on site so plan accordingly. There's a busy road at the edge of the property so be watchful of wandering kiddos and dogs. Ours already knew the drill and kept busy elsewhere. I highly recommend this place! We love making memories here.

Just what we needed...
First of all.... I don't think the pictures do this place justice. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the accommodations were! We arrived around 5p and were on the water with our won SUPs and the kayaks provided by the owner by 530p. It was amazing! The location on the water was truly restorative to all of us. The dog loved it too! The kids fished off the dock and the SUPs for hours and we watched two breathtaking sunsets. My partner and I loved the separate, cozy master suite above the garage. While I was having tea on the deck, the local eagle pair swooped right down in front of me to grab some fresh oysters 2 mornings in a row! We also drove to the Lake Cushman area about 45mins out to do two truly PNW hikes (Dry Creek and Big Creek). We had an incredible time and are grateful to Greg for the incredible setting.

What a wonderful location. The big deck over the water was amazing & fresh oysters from the beach were a wonderful surprise. We loved the mother-in law apartment, very cozy and comfortable.

Great Hood Canal Getaway
We really enjoyed our time at this property! The view can't be beat, and there are thoughtful touches throughout the property that make you feel like you're staying at a friend's house. The kitchen is super well stocked with pots, pans, spices, and plenty of mugs, plates, etc.

Amazing Stay!
The pictures don't do it justice--this place is great. We loved that the water came up to the deck and the kitchen had all the tools, gadgets, spices, and oils that we needed without having to pack everything we owned. We took our three little kids (6, 3, and 2 mo) and aside from the busy street--this was a very kid friendly place. They were plenty busy looking for shells all day (must bring water shoes--those shells are sharp!), wading in the water, fishing from the anchored dock, having s'mores by the fire, and going out on the paddle boat and kayak. The loft is a nice little getaway from the bustle of the main house. An added bonus was that Belfair is a 10 min drive for any essentials you forget. We plan to come back to Mo's Cabin for even longer next time!

Great getaway to escape from it all
It was such a treat to finally get away from the daily grind for 3 wonderful nights. We made a very last minute decision to stay here and we are so glad that we did. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay for all 4 of us. The main house and loft were tastefully decorated and we loved all of the books displayed throughout. The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed: plenty of nice dishes and utensils. We enjoyed eating outside on the deck overlooking the water and watching the most amazing sunset. The hot water on demand was great for showers as we didn’t have to worry about when the hot water would run out. The loft had a beautiful view of the the Hood Canal, but if you plan on sleeping in, you may want to sleep in the main house instead. It is very bright up in that room early in the morning. The 2 sky lights and 3 large windows let in a lot of light. Also, you can hear the cars on the busy road from the loft, but not from the house. It didn’t bother us too bad because the view made up for it. Just be aware that it is quite a climb up lots of steps to get to the loft, so probably out of the question for people with accessibility issues. Seniors will do just fine in the main house as ours did. Thanks to the host for providing a row boat and kayaks to take out on the water. That was a real treat. For those of you bringing your fur babies along, be aware that there isn’t really a good place to walk them. The rental is on a busy road with not much of a shoulder to walk on, so the cars go zipping by pretty quickly. Aside from these 2 issues, which aren’t under the control of the owner, and didn’t detract from our stay, I would highly recommend this rental for anyone who needs a good getaway.

This is a wonderful little piece of waterfront with all the water activities you could hope for! We swam, kayaked, clammed, and just sat on the deck enjoying the sunset over the Olympic mountains. We got a fridge full of beautiful seafood from the Hama Hama Oyster Saloon Farm Store and cooked and ate seafood for every meal. The little convenience store at Happy Hollow has the essentials if you run out of anything (we realized the salt shakers were empty, but overall the kitchen had everything you could need - including multiple oyster knives!), and Belfair is a short drive. Everything was clean and lovely, can’t recommend this place enough!

Awasome deck!
This property won over my husband shyness from the sun! The deck is plenty shady. The living room was cozy but perfect for some board games before bed-time.
The grill has a gas burner, which I used, it was great!
The place seemed clean overall, even the outdoor areas, didn't see any alive bugs. The only thing missing, which I think it used to have, it was an outdoor shower. Oh well! We used the hose :D
There was a lot of cat hair throughout the main floor, but we spent most of the time outside! Nothing that some beverages could help us ignore. A friend was able to install a hammock between the tree and the deck rail. Overall, we will comeback, I am very glad they have those 2 trees to shade the deck. The house was well equipped, including a french presser. Quality knives, we cooked every breakfast and dinner! Excellent location to Belfair (quick beer runs). Fun neighbors too.

The cottage was fantastic! A little on the warm side but when spending all your time on the deck it’s not really an issue. Deck was nicely shaded an spacious. Wonderful place and looking forward to going back!

Thank you to the hosts for the lovely stay! The pics definitely do not do the place justice and it has the most well stocked kitchen supply equipment for any rental ive ever stayed at - anything you need, they have. And if you don't, Safeway is only 10 min away! We worked on a puzzle, made great meals, and harvested clams on our very own beach and made memories to last a lifetime. Thank you for the stay!

Could not have been more pleased with our time at Mo's Cabin! The location was absolutely ideal - not so close to town that the hustle and bustle spilled into our retreat yet close enough to pop in for ice cream. Also close to the resort and the restaurants/amenities there. The cabin set up (two bedrooms/one bath in the main house, one bedroom/one bath in the upstairs loft) made for a perfect situation. Everyone had their private space and the expansive deck was the perfect spot to all come together. We swam, we kayaked, we row boated, we looked for shells, we dug clams and picked up oysters, we ate, we ate and we ate but, most importantly, we all truly relaxed and enjoyed the simple pleasures of a cool breeze on the water, a beautiful sunset and each other.

Cute little main cottage with a detached apartment atop the garage. We used a blow up mattress for the room with the pull-out couch bed. This was a clean, well-furnished cabin that worked great for 3 friends traveling together. The water comes right up under the deck and the fireplace was cozy. Everything worked great. Two things I wish I had known, though: none of the three bedrooms have windows (just sliding doors) so we were extremely hot when the weather was warm and not able to hear the waves at night. For those with dogs: On our only beach swim, my pup cut her paw on the sharp oyster beds. And the extremely busy highway is really close to the house without any fence, so had to keep my eye on the dog at all times.

This property was even more lovely than we expected. The cabin and loft were comfortable for five adults (I'd say that's max). The view and deck were wonderful, as was the ability to use the kayaks. The kitchen was well stocked and have more than what we needed to make wonderful meals. The loft, in particular, was comfortable and cozy. Definitely recommend!
