Had a really nice pool and the view pretty nice.
The hotel felt like it was in desperate need of a refurbishment. Wifi didn’t reach the rooms. The walk was very steep up and down to the hotel, but there is a free tuk-tuk which they run until 10pm.

POOL WITH MONKEYS IN THE OVERHANGING TREES. incredible views and right next to the beach (actually at the nicer end of the shore which was less busy and more sandy) the rooms are very convenient and clean. One of the best places we stayed in during our trip. thoughtful and kind owners that arranged a taxi all the way from the airport to make our life very easy. We would also recommend black and white cafe on the beach near the hotel - great food and lovely service.

The staff were all very polite and welcoming and had a freshly squeezed juice when we arrived. The room was beautiful, a great size and the bed was very comfortable.
The use of the tuk tuk for the evening was also super! Came in handy a few times.
The breakfast in the morning was delicious and freshly prepared.
The pool was quiet and a great option when not going to the beach or on rainy days. Great access to local buses and not too far walking or with tuk tuk from unawatuna Town or Galle

Sadly, there were ants in our room along a wall close to the bed, and our flush didn't work well in the toilet. Often, the water ran cold in our shower too.
The owners of the property were around a lot but they didn't really engage with us as much as they did with the other guests. We felt they were keeping an eye on their staff
As good as breakfast was for extras (bacon etc) it was quite expensive considering the price we paid for the whole stay.
The area is quite touristy and I wouldn't recommend this place for back packers unless you don't mind getting the bus.
Also a drink we had from the fridge was flat.

We loved our stay at this hotel, very clean and comfortable, excellent service, 2 options for breakfast, quiet hotel and very close the all attractions, amazing staff. located at main road so very easy to access shops and transport.

The hotel is situated in a picturesque place, you can enjoy nice views from its territory including the ocean. The bungalow was very clean, the personnel is highly professional and helpful. Breakfasts were delicious and nourishing.
Wi-fi doesn’t work inside the bungalow, we had to walk to reception zone in order to use it

Beautiful hotel with scenic views over Unawatuna. Comfortable room with hot water and very clean. Generous breakfast and free tuk tuk up the hill. Really great pool too!
Shame they don't serve alcohol as it would have been nice to have a drink in the beautiful surroundings. One of the few hotels we stayed at not to have a generator which considering the price point is surprising.

Lovely little hotel (I think it's only 10 rooms), less than 10 mins walk to Unawatuna Beach and the main street.
Hotel is on the top of the hill overlooking the bay, so the views are spectacular and the location ensures that it's peaceful with any road noise reduced to a, barely noticeable, background murmur. The pool is a nice size and shares the same views. All of the staff are very friendly.
The only downside is the steep ramp/steps that you have to climb to get to the hotel - although up until 10pm they have a TuKTuk that will take you up.
While it's probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, as long as you are able to cope with the ramp/steps, the climb is a fair trade-off for the location and views.

Gorgeous view, spotlessly clean, great breakfast, charming staff, lovely grounds and plenty of wildlife around. Don't be alarmed by steep approach, the free tuk tuk up works a treat (mindful of current power cuts as bell doesn't work when power is out)
Pillows on bed is just one oversized large cushion type thing, i didnt get on with it at all. Please bring in regular pillows !!

Great views. Pool is good. Close to the beach (the hill is steep but there is a tuk tuk to take you up if you want). Bungalows are huge, clean and have a lovely area outside.

We had a wonderful stay here at Panorama Hotel. We wanted to check in abit earlier and submitted the request via booking which was accommodated.
The owner Renate is running a 10* hotel, very well managed, and the staff working here are great! All the bungalows have sea view and pool view, which is spectacular. Lovely 2 dogs live with the owner but they are so well trained, dont bother guests. Wild life is plentiful and 3 turtles also live on the grounds. The breakfast is 5*, many different options and it keep you full til lunch. We also ate lunch and dinner here (very limited) however it was cooked by the local staff and I can say it was one of the best sri Lankan curry we had!
Nice and calm oasis in the hustle of Unawatuna, tuktuk free ride up the hotel also,, thanks! Nice to be away from the disco pumping Noice from the beach! Which is 2min walk away across the road, Unawatuna beach is stunning. Also eat at Black and white restaurant which was recommended by the receptionist.

It is a safe island in the busy, bustling Sri Lankan beach Unawatuna. Hillside location, but a lovely tuk-tuk service taking you up for free of charge. Lovely Lady from Switzerland runs this gem. We stayed in a bungallow, it was nice sitting on the balcony, swimming in the pool, having a nice shower, sleeping in the comfy bed. The breakfast was very good in size and taste also. This is a place what you should not miss when in Unawatuna. Thanks for the hospitality and the nice days we spent with you in Panorama!

- exceptional view from the teracce - you can stare at it for hours and not get bored
- nice swimming pool
- very clean and tidy room.
- very limited breakfast choice - just continetal or sri lankan. so if you stay more than one night you eat each day the same. with such amazing cuisinie as sri lanka has its pretty sad and disappointing.
- wifi works only in lounge area which is not pointed in hotel description.

The location was great, but at the top of a very steep hill. The hotel do offer a tuktuk to take you up if you don’t wish to walk which is good. The room was very big and spacious with air con and a fan available. The swimming pool area was lovely with great views. Staff were helpful.
For the cost of the room, I would have expected breakfast to be included. You can pay an additional fee for breakfast (I didn’t) and there was no option to order lunch when I arrived - this may not always be the case, but I was on this particular occasion.

A Beautiful place. The swimmingpool area was fantastic. The bungalows were big and well equipped. The staff was helpful and very pleasant. We enjoyed the place very much. The children loved the animals around and especially the turtle.

We stayed in two of the bungalows - they were very spacious and immaculately cleaned (as was the rest of the hotel) every day. There is a large fridge (containing chargeable soft drinks) in each room with tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water is provided daily. We found the mattresses super comfy (the pillows slightly less so) and there was a generous supply of coathangers (I have a thing about not having enough coathangers!)
The staff were the friendliest, most helpful bunch of guys and an absolute credit to the place, I don't think you could meet a nicer guy than Prabath, the manager. We used the laundry service which was very reasonably priced, quick, and our clothes came back beautifully washed and ironed.
The pool is lovely with great views to the sea and was cleaned daily - there are one or two sharp edged tiles in the pool, just take a little care.
Breakfast is served overlooking the bay and consists of toast, butter, jam, eggs, juice, fruit, tea and coffee or an eastern breakfast can be requested in advance. Chargeable extras are bacon and cheese.
Yes, it is up a steep hill (so steep that it's a real novelty!) but as previous reviews mention there is a free tuk-tuk service until 9pm - it really is no big deal and not worth marking the hotel down for.
