No working heat but it's a house. There was a chimney and hot water heater but neither worked. Host was unreachable from time of check in until 2 hours past check in. There was mold and water stains. The pictures in the listing are very old and not indicative of the antiquated property. We drove six hours to turn around and go home. Thank God Evolve who listed with VRBO were decent human beings and gave me a partial refund. VRBO did nothing for us. I will never use VRBO and again. I will be leaving bad reviews everywhere I can against VRBO and asking anyone I know to do the same. All you had to do was make it half right but VRBO ruined our anniversary vacation. Never again

What a wonderful three days with family at your beautiful lake house. Loved the views, screened in porch, the lake, the dock and the overall peacefulness. Stars at night were spectacular. House is well equipped with pretty much everything you need. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

The location was beautiful, right on the lake. We enjoyed hearing and watching the loons from the screened in porch or the dock. You can even see the Milky Way at night from the dock. There were several hiking trails close by and also less than an hour from town and supermarkets. The lake house is a quintessential Maine camp- comfy, but rough around the edges. The kitchen has all the equipment that you need to cook, and my daughter even made my cousin a birthday cake. However, The decor hasn’t been updated since 1975, except for the TV and WiFi. My daughter couldn’t sleep in the middle bedroom with the noisy hot water heater and moldy window AC unit in the closet, so she slept on the futon in the living room. When I first opened the door, the strong scent of Pine Sol bowled me over. I always use up scented cleaning products, so the first thing we did was to open all the windows and turn on the fans to air out the house. Then the shower door fell off the hinges every time you opened it. We were told the owner was going to fix it, but not before we left.

The spot is perfectly located and was what we were looking for. While the description is 'rustic' I would counter that having a shower door so old and rusted that it falls off when opened, mouse droppings on all the cookware and electricity that made my carpenter brother-in-law cringe is less rustic and more in need of serious attention.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking! As a Chef I truly enjoyed that! Everything about the house I Reilly enjoy and specially the Kayaks which were the whole reason we picked this house! Felt like were lots of spiderwebs around but we did read about them to be a normal thing to happen in the area around the season! The ONLY things I would “complain” about was the fact that the host never replied to ANY of my emails or text messages (I did not try to call), we thankfully did not had ANY problems, but I wonder what could happened if we really needed to contact him. We did followed all instructions and regulations and loved the experience overall but I was disappointed I could never get in touch with the host. Other than that I would come back :)
