Originally built in 1925, this water view home is in the middle of the quaint island known as Harkers Island. Even though this island is off the beaten path, it boasts some of best fishing and hunting around. You are minutes from the famous Big Rock Blue Marlin tournament that takes place in June and it is home to some of the world renowned decoy carvers which can be seen at the Decoy Festival the first weekend in December. You can take a ferry to Cape Lookout seashore and go shelling or shop in the quaint shops of downtown Beaufort. This home has 3 bedrooms, two baths and sleeps up to 8. If you have your own boat, there is a public boat ramp right up the road and covered parking at the house for your boat and car. Known for it’s traditional ways, come immerse yourself in the island life and begin making your own Island Traditions.

Property is awesome. Plenty of space for four duck hunters to come in and relax and warm up after hunting. Rae always kept in touch about any problems that may be happening on the island. 10 out of 10.

Weve been to this property before and just like the other time, we loved it!!! Always very clean and tidy, has everything you need for a long stay. Rae is great, always answers our questions and likes to spoil the kids. Great place to stay

We had a great vacation, we went to many different places within 45 minutes of the house. NC Aquarium, Putt-Putt, multiple free museums, a few nature preserves, Harkers Island beach (recommended buckets and nets), Atlanta beach, stores, restaurants, seen dolphins and wild horses from Beaufort, rented side-by-sides and took the Ferry out of Davis to Cape Lookout (definitely put this on your list amazing 💙) and so much more. Loved we could do touristy things, enjoy nature and relaxing aswell. Great host with great communication 👏

First time being in this area, and what a great location the house turned out to be. No matter where we went exploring, it was easy to get back to and convenient to everything we wanted to explore. Beds were comfortable and the AC was a welcome comfort from the heat of the day. Porch swing was nice for sitting in the cool air of the night. Would definitely stay here again.

Rae thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. It was nice to spread out in 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We spent a day at the nearby island to swim and see wild horses! Dollar General is a close walk to grab anything you need.

The property was clean, family friendly, and the perfect place to day trip to the beach, shopping, or sightseeing. Be sure and visit the Core Sound Museum to see the amazing heritage of Down East Rae was a great host!

This was a perfect escape for our family. The rental was comfortable and homey. The owner put in several extras to make it special. Harkers island is a sleepy little community that makes it easy to unplug.

This place was everything we hoped for and more! Cute little vintage home and once inside all the little extras you could need! A welcome basket with treats and even face masks for me to enjoy my time with my daughters- it has been so long since we were together! We enjoyed stained glass classes right down the road-a must do! Loved going on the ferry to see the wild horses and the lighthouse. Great evenings watching movies and snacking. It was so relaxing and fun! Hope to come back!

Harkers Island is a great place to stay if you love the beach but hate the crowded beaches. We had a great time, did the best we ever have fishing! The owners are so sweet and very good with communication. Told us the sweet history of the house and answered any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful property and Harker's Island is a very nice little village. The people are very friendly and it's a very peaceful place. We enjoyed the museum and the little town atmosphere. We will defiantly be visiting again. Next trip will include the ferry rides.

I think this is our 5th time staying at this property! The first time we stayed, we fell in love with the place. We have brought our family with us to stay in the past. The house has plenty of space and will sleep lots of people! The location is great if you have boat, the boat ramp is right down the road. Plenty of space to park your boat at the house. We love the front and back porches! We always sit on the front porch to drink our coffee and it’s so peaceful. It’s just the best! We will be coming back for many years to come! Rae and Vaughn are awesome!

This house was everything you needed for a vacation. Alot of open space and kitchen. Open deck on the back of the house, including screen in porch with lightning to enjoy your morning or hanging after a day a the beach. Thank you much Rae for sn awesome place to make memories. This is by far the most welcoming Vrbo I've ever rented. We were greeted with a basket of water, snacks, and sunscreen. The house is absolutely charming, homey, and very spacious. Checking in was as easy as getting the key. Also one of the easiest check-outs I've ever gone through. The kitchen is fantastic (only thing I'd add would be a tea kettle, but I'm old fashioned that way), and the gas grill was super easy to use. Appreciated the little soaps and shampoos in the bathroom and the beach towels! Enjoyed evenings on the back screened porch winding down with citronella candles and string lights. Rae is a marvelous hostess and I look forward to bringing my family back.

Super clean and spacious house. So many homey and thoughtful touches and treats. Host was extremely communicative. My only suggestions would be better cookware and a pitcher to make ice tea in. I would definitely stay again however!
