Bright, open, and full of sunshine, the Harbor View Cabin suite features two a beautiful outdoor deck with a hammock, a grill, patio furniture, and lovely views. Enjoy a six-person hot tub in a fenced-in part of the rose garden, a fully equipped kitchen with a kitchen island and a double oven, and such modern comforts as a Bluetooth-enabled Bose stereo system, satellite TV, and DVDs to entertain you at home. What's nearby: The serene landscapes of Moran State Park are 14 miles east, where you can take a swim in Cascade Lake or admire the incredible view from Mt. Constitution (the highest point in the San Juan Islands). The always quiet Obstruction Pass State Park is just six miles beyond as well. Deer Harbor Reserve and Marina are only half a mile south, and there are restaurants, shops, and plentiful hiking and biking opportunities nearby. Things to know: Free WiFi Full kitchen One dog up to 30 lbs. is welcome This cabin is in the same vicinity as two others, The Cottage on the Bluff and Sunset View Cabin; all three can be rented together as Deer Harbor Cottages. This cabin is in the same building as the Sunset View Cabin. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation. Location of cabin on the quieter side of Orcas Island and within a complex that included a restaurant. Enjoyed the community feel of the complex.

Matthew's BBQ Restaurant next door is a must. Food is terrific. Peek-A-Boo view of Deer Harbor is great and so is the West-facing deck.

We loved the quiet tranquility of the place, it was well equipped and clean. But it’s a bit shabby, door handles aren’t properly aligned, laminate floor peeling up, a few stinky blankets, some of the windows a bit tough to open….seems like the place could use a bit of a facelift. Check out was 10 am and that was tough as we travel with two teenagers. Also not a fan of having to clean when you also pay for cleaning. The hammock on the deck was awesome, the bbq place next door was tasty and two of the beds were comfy, we were glad to be able to bring our doggo. We normally stay in 4 and 5 star hotels so take our review with a grain of salt - this is a great budget option if you aren’t fancy or fussy.

The unit was tired and dated, it's in desperate need of an update/refresh. For what we paid to rent it, I expected better.
We arrived the first night and the bed broke when someone sat on it, looks like the previous renters broke it and put it together and not told anyone. I called Vacasa and the customer service rep told us to sleep on the floor. WTF!!! if i wanted to sleep on the floor I would have gone camping, she didn't even offer to give us a discount on the rate.
I called the maintenance person in the morning (Jake) he was friendly and apologized and has the bed fixed by the afternoon. He said he would request a discount/rate reduction from Vacasa, but as of 2 weeks later, not a word from Vacasa.
The unit was in a good location, close to Deer harbor, the grounds had aa nice BBQ restaurant, and overall the unit was clean and met our needs,
The 2-star was for the TERRIBLE service from Vacasa (not Jake), I will probably never rent from Vacasa again and warn anyone away from them.

Some windows did not lock & heaters were hidden n in a closet. No instructions for TV & VACSA never responded to emails!
You are truly on your own!
Beware of hidden costs like the hot tub that I did not use & had VACASA remove from bill

Loved the covered hammock on the deck overviewing the valley - even saw the snow-capped mountains one morning! Plenty of room to stretch out, read, savor a glass of wine, and BBQ!

For the price after fees and taxes I expected the place to be top notch. It's was just ok. Shower wasn't great most everything worked and the beds were comfortable but price was way above what we thought it should be for the property. All the dishes needed to be washed prior to using them. They actually got put away with food stuck to them.

Enjoyed my 4 days here - I was allowed to check in early,(thankfully) I would and will recommend to family and friends!

My adult children loved the house , quiet, decent kitchen, not perfect but would consider renting again . There were some issues but not a deal breaker. Nice deck with a hammock, little coffee table and chairs.

Plenty of space for our family of 5 and the bedrooms both had comfortable beds. The setting is quiet and pretty. The kitchen supplies need an upgrade - there are 6 dinner forks total, there is no coffeemaker (there is a Keurig but we had no pods and only one was provided), the one non-stick pan was losing its coating etc... The heat from the wood stove kept us cozy all weekend, and the hot tub is a fun feature.

The house overall is a good rental in a very child friendly location with a great BBQ restaurant just outside. We would recommend the house.
The one glaring issue is the water. I have a high tolerance for sub-par tap water, but this water taste really bad.

We were unable to get into the building, and with no cell service, it was very difficult to get ahold of someone to remedy the situation. An hour later, once we entered the building, it was filthy. The floors were dirty, the carpets not vacuumed, there was dog food on the floor in the kitchen. Nothing was dusted, there were cobwebs noted all along the ceiling. Light fixtures didn't work, you had to squeeze through the door to the master bedroom because the right side of the French doors was sealed shut. The bathroom was dirty as well. There were stains on several towels that were provided, there were holes in the shower liner. There was other people's forgotten clothes under the bed. Yuck! With no cell service and spotty internet, it was very difficult to get ahold of anyone. Overall, this place is very run down, not clean and we were unable to have a nice and relaxing vacation. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Relaxing getaway off the grid
This property shares grounds with several other properties yet still provided us with a sense of privacy with a cozy fireplace and relaxing hot tub. It was the offseason and Covid so most surrounding businesses were closed, but there were still hikes near by and a short drive away from Eastsound. If what you are looking for is a relaxing getaway I would highly recommend this cabin.

We came for our anniversary trip. It was such a nice place! It is attached to a private residence, but there is a lot of open space, the kitchen is updated and beautiful, and had the hot water worked when we got there, I imagine the bathtub would have been really enjoyable. We had some issues with the tank and so that was not possible. But the owners and the managers at Vacasa were there as soon as they could be to try and help and left some champagne for us as a little gift for the trouble! The hot tub is super nice and it's in a great location for some people watching. The views are phenomenal, and WOW. It is super quiet up there at night. I cannot wait to go back to Orcas again.

Deer Harbor is a quiet beautiful setting. It’s pitch black outside and no cellphone service so when the lock box didn’t have a key to open the door my husband wasn’t very happy. Luckily the nearby inn had a land line so I could make a phone call. The backup key is a very good idea. We enjoyed our stay in Deer Harbor!

I think if Vacasa had someone on their staff stay at this location for a few days, they'd quickly see some of the areas that need improvements. Again, they're small, but when you're spending (for us) a lot of money to stay somewhere, they do add up. Examples include:- missing lightbulb in the bedroom lamp- several issues with a few of the doors (not closing properly or getting stuck when opening)- ice maker in the freezer seemed to have malfunctioned prior to our arrival. We didn't need it beyond freezing our ice packsThere are more little things, but despite these we still had a lovely time away. Some of the great things about this property:- even though the jets in the hot tub didn't work, it was still awesome having a nice relaxing soak at the end of the day. Loved this feature!- the beds were very comfortable!- all of us in our family enjoyed time spent relaxing in the hammock- the little gas fireplace kicks out a lot of heat which made for a nice cozy evening.Overall, it was great and we had a fantastic time. With a little investment from the owners to smooth out the rough edges, this property is a real winner.
