About this house rental
Casa Acero is Spanish for steel house. Constructed and decorated with mostly repurposed steel and other materials, the property has an industrial look and feel, inside and out. The interior is comfortably appointed with luxury items including high-end mattresses (king-sized Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme & queen-sized Sleep Number 360) and a supple leather couch to enjoy 300 mb/s broadband Wifi and a smart TV. The kitchen is well stocked (even spices) making it possible to cook full meals. Outside, a 4-person hot tub, cast iron fireplace, covered seating area, table, 4 chairs, and a Weber propane BBQ grill allow you to enjoy the cool mountain air and starry skies at night. In addition to utilizing recycled construction materials, the house is powered with 100% renewable energy. The house is cooled using three (3) mini-split units. Heating is provided by radiant wall heaters in each room of the house. Casa Acero is located in a residential neighborhood on a quiet street within a 5 minute drive to everything Alpine. The construction materials and thick insulation minimize outside noises found at other properties in Alpine. Why stay at Casa Acero in in Alpine? The unofficial capital of Far West Texas, Alpine is nestled in a beautiful valley at an elevation of 4,475 feet. This relaxed high desert town will do your soul good if you need a break from the rat race of the city! You’ll also be close to Marfa’s art galleries and the famous Marfa Lights, Marathon’s legendary Gage hotel/restaurant, and the McDonald’s Observatory and National and State Parks in Ft. Davis. No trip would be complete without plans to explore “down south,” including hiking Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park, visiting the Terlingua Ghost Town, or playing golf in Lajitas. And at the end of each day's adventure, relax and unwind in our hot tub spa. You will want to return again and again! Was a wonderfully comfortable house to return to after a day spent hiking in the Davis mountains and Chisos mountain in Big Bend National Park. Beds and bedding were like sleeping in a marshmallow cloud of comfort, shower pressure and temperature was great, Kitchen well stocked and spacious. Fenced yard was great for safety of puppy play, concrete floor was easy to sweep and keep clean.

We loved the Casa, it was very clean and and had everything we needed. I good quiet neighborhood, and away from noisy streets and train. Highly recommend this for a great getaway in the mountains of Texas.

They thought of every detail you may need while staying here. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms have all you made need. They even have spices if you want to cook.

We saw and enjoyed exactly what we'd read in the property description and ammenities listed. So appreciative of being able to bring our dog, pet friendly. She is considered family to us. The suggestions for us on how to best cool the rooms, great added detail. Very clean and simple. Bare minimum a few improvements for my 'old' eyes is to add brighter bulbs or additional light fixtures in the kitchen area. Nice location, right in town, not far from anything. Would absolutely rent again, next time we visit.

First - the only negative is the location. The house is in a residential neighborhood which is not walking distance from downtown. That said, it is a nice location with little light pollution and only about a mile from everything.
This is a very cozy and well appointed house. There is everything that you would want for sleeping, cooking, and just relaxing in Alpine. The owners were very responsive when we had questions and the cost was very reasonable for the quality of the place.
We will definitely choose this stay again.

Beautiful time to be in west Texas. The house was everything we needed and the neighborhood was very quiet. The owner was quick to respond when I realized I left something behind, and he offered a solution that worked for both of us. I would definitely come back.

So glad we found this rental! Alpine is a beautiful little town and this house was a great option for our family. Included everything we could have wanted or needed. Our family of 5 had plenty of room and the outdoor space was nice in the evenings.

We have family and close friends living in Alpine. Casa Aero has become our home-away-from-home when we are in Alpine. We had a birthday celebration party on Saturday evening with live music and wonderful food. Derek and Suzy provide everything we need to comfortably enjoy the nearby Davis Mountains, Big Bend National Park and local Alpine, as well as entertain family and friends at Casa Aero.

Everything about this house was perfect. The back yard was amazing. Lots of privacy, quiet, and all the amenities you need. The decor was so cute. Very roomy and clean. I’d 100% recommend and hope to stay there again soon.

Myself, my husband, our teenage son and dog all enjoyed living like a local in Alpine at Casa Acero. Escaping the San Antonio heat for the West Texas mountains was a welcome respite and you can tell this little house was a labor of love with all the unique Texas decor and antiques. As everyone before us said, we found it to be very clean, the beds amazing and the kitchen well stocked. The whole house was stocked in fact and a nice change from some of the places we have stayed prior where you have to bring every little item. While it was too hot for the firepit outside we did enjoy the backyard area for coffee in the cool mornings. The Local Donut shop is fantastic and a 10 min round trip ride! House itself is in a small quiet neighborhood with an Alpine Police Officer living next door. View of the mountains from the front made for a nice happy hour setting in the cool evenings. We are already discussing a yearly tradition to return every summer and we wouldn't rent anywhere else! Thank you for a great and memorable stay.

Amazing Home in a quiet Neighboorhood
This is our 2nd stay at Derek's home. Exceeded our expectations once again. The house has been completely renovated and is absolutely gorgeous. Kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked, large back yard with a gas grill, woodburning stove and seating. The TV is streaming all your favorite services and there are lots of board games. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Oh, and the beds are FABULOUS. My grandkids love staying here! Derek is one of the best hosts we have encountered. Already planning next year's trip West with the kids!

Relaxing stay
Unique exterior gives it a rustic appearance, but inside it was nicely appointed, comfortable, and well maintained. Covered parking was a plus. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Alpine is a great central location for visiting the Big Bend NP, Marfa, Ft. Davis and many other attractions.

Our stay at Casa Acero was phenomenal! It was our first time in Alpine. We went for a wedding and the home was very accommodating. Casa Acero was very clean and nicely decorated. The yard was nice and private including the private parking. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a stay in Alpine or surrounding areas.

Wonderful Trip
Purchased this vrbo for my parents. They loved the house. Told me the bed was so comfortable and the bathrooms were roomy and everything was very clean. They loved the location. Spent a day south in Big Bend. One day visiting Marfa and exploring Alpine. And one day north at Fort Davis. Heard all wonderful things about this place. I hope to stay here soon with my family.

Very quiet neighborhood with policemen living next door. Not ce to have carport. Kitchen has all you could want. Bed comfy and master bath spacious. Thanks s 80 miles to big bend gate through Terlinua. 30 min to Margaret. 30 my n to Fort Davis. Would definitely come back for Artwalk later this year if able

My husband and I spent Thanksgiving at Casa Acero. The house was very comfortable and well furnished. We enjoyed our drive to Big Bend and visiting Fort Stockton. The Drugstore's burgers were great!
