We use a variable pricing model to give our guests more flexibility - dependent on the size of your group. Comparable property's to this will mostly be priced at a flat rate for 6 guests. But because our property has (surprisingly) received a lot of bookings in the past from solo couples (2 guests), we wanted to best accommodate this by starting at a decreased base price, and then allowing the price to be adjusted accordingly, dependent on the group size. So if you have 4-6 guests in your reservation, the pricing then increases to make it comparable to the other 6 guest property's in the area. We do conduct regular analysis' and comparisons, and we feel we have priced this property fairly and comparable to other similar spaces in the area - the only difference is it can vary dependent on your group size. Please reach out if you have any questions in regards to this. >>>LOYALTY PROGRAM: Stay with us twice (at the same property), and you’ll receive 5% OFF of your stays FOR LIFE at that property. If you make it to 10 stays, then we will give you one free night to stay with us at any of our properties. (Note: this only pertains to nightly rate costs, does not include any fees or taxes). Also check out our other 2 themed properties - 1. The Shaw Fox's Den (basement suite at this property) - 1 bedroom/ 1 bath, sleeps up to 4 2. The 1904 World's Fair Retreat - 1 bedroom/ 1 bath, sleeps up to 6 ......... *NEIGHBORHOOD DETAILS The Rustic City Inn is located in the beautiful Shaw/Tower Grove neighborhood, which is currently one of the most popular, hippest, and safest neighborhoods in STL City. Once you experience it you'll see just how beautiful, green, and unforgettable it truly is. The Inn is also walking distance to a number of premier-rated restaurants, coffee houses, bars, wine bars, ice cream shops, the MO Botanical Garden, and of course....beautiful Tower Grove Park! (see these in listing pics) *A full detailed listing of what is nearby and our recommendations is printed in the onsite house manual. Tower Grove Park This wooded Victorian strolling park rewards meandering. Its 340 kinds of trees could chart every shade of green, and they attract 200 kinds of birds, from red-shafted flickers and monk parakeets to ospreys and ring-billed gulls. Henry Shaw developed the park to give St. Louis “a grand pleasure ground,” with wide lanes for horse-drawn carriages, gates guarded by zinc griffins, and exotic pavilions and gazebos. Every few feet, there’s something to see: lions copied from the tomb of Pope Clement XIII, heroic sculptures (Shakespeare’s here), busts (including Mozart), and antiquities (columns from the Old Courthouse and stone “ruins” from the old Lindell Hotel, reflected in one of the most picturesque ponds in St. Louis). Park officials also recently uncovered a long-forgotten stream on the park's east side, accenting it with rain gardens and native plants on either side. Tower Grove Park - key events - Tower Grove Pride Fest - Festival of Nations - Food Truck Friday’s - Tuesday & Saturday Farmer’s Market - Outdoor Yoga on Saturday’s - Monday eve Concerts In The Park Missouri Botanical Gardens - Whitaker Music Festival: every Wednesday night with live music (May through July) .............. **WINTER DISCOUNT SPECIAL (Nov-Feb)** - $129 for 1 night/1 couple/1 bed - (Includes nightly rate & cleaning fee!) The Shaw/Tower Grove Neighborhood was such a perfect location to stay, and this home was a lovely landing pad. The photos were accurate, except the house seemed bigger, in my opinion! The home has a steep staircase to enter, and a steep staircase to go upstairs to the bedrooms and second bathroom. The hosts provided Keurig cups, ground coffee and filters in the lovely kitchen. We did not get to use the back deck because of the weather/temperatures, but it looked great! We never had an issue with parking on the street, and were able to park directly in front of the home every day of our stay. If we return to this area, we would stay here again

This Shaw home was just right for us. The neighborhood was quiet and unique. Sasha’s on Shaw is a great neighborhood bar/ restaurant.

My family traveled to St. Louis for a concert weekend. The home was beautiful and the accommodations were just what we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay! The neighborhood was perfect and surrounded by beautiful fall trees. We felt safe in the home and would definitely stay here again!

Whilst the location suited us and the house was quite spacious, it does need some updating. The floorboards were very creaky in the bedrooms making it difficult to move around without disturbing others.
Also, we do not believe that the basement flat should be let out separately as it caused a number of problems during our stay. Firstly with some young people who did not in anyway comply with the rules and we had to get the owners out to resolve the situation.
Secondly, there is no sound insulation between the basement and the house and in the kitchen of the main house and you can hear conversations going on in the basement.
The air conditioning is on the same system as the main part of the house which meant that it was very cold in the basement when the main house was just ok. When some family members joined us for the second part of our stay and stayed in the basement, they found it extremely noisy as the air conditioning ducts are on the ceiling of the bedroom and all exposed. Also the basement living area was very small and dark and does not have sufficient cooking facilities even to heat water, only a microwave.

The home was just as advertised and did not disappoint. Three friends and we each had a beautiful bedroom. Plenty of space in living room to hang out and catch up. Everything we did was located within 15 min or less! Great walking area, close to Farmer's Mkt on Saturday, and safe. Would easily stay again! Parking was available everywhere we went (including outside the home on the street).

We enjoyed this home and found it very comfortable - we appreciated the space for our family of 4 and were very grateful for the thoughtfulness of the owners (good info provided, nice labels on things, and basic provisions like coffee pods, laundry detergent and basic shampoo/soap were provided). I really liked the neighborhood and the park just a few blocks away, and we felt safe while there. The hosts were great. Be aware that the stairs are quite narrow and steep to get up to the bedrooms, and two of them are only separated by pull-out sliding doors, but this was not a problem for us. Another thing to note is that it was hot while we were in town, and although the A/C was working, it never got very cool upstairs. Otherwise, we had a great stay and would recommend this property.

Love the nearby botanical gardens, home was oozing with charm and close to downtown as well. The game console in the TV was a bonus fun during downtimes. Would stay again.

The house worked perfectly for our family. It was close to everything we planned on doing in St. Louis. The neighborhood was quiet and you never heard any outdoor noise. They provided the shampoo, conditioner, body wash which was very nice. We enjoyed Alexa so we could hear music while we were there. This was not our only stop on our vacation so having a washer and dryer was a necessity which was provided along with the laundry soap and fabric sheets. One less thing for us to pack and worry about. That’s always a huge plus for us! There were places within walking distance to eat too. The beds were comfortable and sheets were smooth. The hosts were quick to reply and great to work with. We would stay there again.

Very quaint and clean house. We took a family getaway to see the sights on St Louis and this was a perfect location to all the places we planned on visiting. If you are going to the Arch, Cards, Zoo, Grant’s Farm, Science museum, or City museum. This is the place to stay! Excellent restaurant options, several within walking distance, and amazing parks and Botanical garden also walking distance.
The kids loved all of the porches and used them all. All bedrooms and one bathroom are upstairs. Roomy living, dining area, and 2nd bathroom on main floor. Kitchen is well stocked with a nice large island.
Neighborhood is nice to walk through with beautiful homes.
If you are concerned about street parking, the curb area in front of the house was always available day or night.
One item to note is that access to the upstairs bathroom from the front bedroom transits through the middle bedroom.
Thanks Tony & Filomena!

We had a nice stay here. It was close to everything. The place have more room then we need for 3 people. We did not even know there was a tenant that lives downstairs. We will be back.

Traveling with a teen girl and a tween boy is a challenge at times but it was wonderful to have our own space to retire to when we needed that to recharge. Central location to almost all of the wonderful things St. Louis has to offer. Hoping to come back with some of my girlfriends!

It’s a great location! Nice safe and quiet neighborhood. There are a few places in walking distance, and only about 15-20 minutes from downtown activities. The place is nice and is just as pictured. Would for sure stay here again.

My Mom, Sister and I had a lovely stay.
I was a little concerned at first that there was a rental in the basement, however, it was a non-issue. The location is perfect, and the house is very comfortable.
The hosts were kind and responsive. We would highly recommend this rental!

We had three different family groups and the house met our needs. We fixed a meal for a larger family gathering and he everything we needed in the kitchen. The back patio looks great but we didn’t use as it was cold and rainy. Would definitely recommend this place.

We loved our stay here! It was the perfect mix of historic architecture & modern amenities. Such a charming property. Great location. Minutes from Downtown, Mid town & Forest Park.

This is a very nice property, as seen in pics and described in words. The staircase to the bedrooms is quite steep and in our opinion - with or without the movable fabric stair covers - a bit challenging if not more so. We didn’t feel as though the property was really best-prepared for our arrival; the front door entry system was not functional until we had to call and have its battery replaced, and the front patio light also did not function until we asked for it to be turned on, and then it took a day after that for it to happen.

Wonderful property, as advertised. Well-appointed and comfortable. Location was perfect for family. Easy access to park, botanical garden, and The Hill. Felt very safe. Would stay again!

Clean, comfortable beds, wonderful neighborhood. We were only in town for one night, it was a shame we were unable to spend more time at the house to enjoy it to its fullest. I would recommend renting the basement unit when you book this as well, this was a slip up on our part that we didn’t do this as we were up late and unfortunately we disturbed the clients there. No fault of the facility this was on us. This was such a beautiful stay and a reasonable rate and we felt terrible to have caused someone else to not have enjoyed this home as we did.
