We had two families for a total of eleven adults and teens from St Louis only one hour from home. The property was beautiful and just what we were looking for. Right on the lake, a great deck area, a house fully outfitted and lots of room for all. Our host was readily available for anything we needed during our stay and very gratuitous to boot. This was such a wonderful time for us.

We were looking for a place to stay where we didn’t need to leave the property to enjoy the water since we only had a couple days for this trip. It met every expectation. The house is gorgeous and spacious with a beautiful view of the water. The outdoor set up for sitting and enjoying nature or watching the kids play in the water couldn’t have been better. The kids loved swimming and kayaking and it was so nice to be able to have our fur babies there with us.

We love Black Dog Chalet! The house is immaculate and the owner is super responsive. She answered all my questions quickly. The house itself comes with everything you need to enjoy your stay.

The chalet was perfect for our week-long lakeside vacation. Would highly recommend.

Very accommodating property for 6 adults and 4 children, we swam, fished, BBQ'd and relaxed. The community pool was a great place to hang with the kids. The Golden Tee made for some fun times when it rained.

We loved the house the game area was well enjoyed. The views were beautiful. Our little beach was great with our pups.

First thing I noticed was the long relatively flat driveway! Plenty of Innsbrook chalets have steep driveways so it was awesome not to have any issues driving my prius down the driveway. Upon entering we noticed the dog kennel! This was a huge deal to us as one of our dogs prefers to sleep in a kennel, and gets stressed if he doesn’t have one available. We didn’t have the room in our smaller cars to transport his, and were worried about how he’d do throughout the week. So, thank you for that!! Owner left us stuff to make s’mores, and two treats for our dogs which was a nice and unexpected touch. There were bath products if you forget anything, and they had spices in the kitchen. We brought most of what we needed, but it’s nice to have those on hand. We brought our own, but it looks like they also had plenty of life jackets and pool noodles. Plenty of beach towels too! They had firewood on site which I’ve heard not all the chalets supply. We fished, played with the dogs, went to the pool, visited a couple of the beaches, used their canoe, and used our own inflatable kayaks. They have 2 youth size kayaks and a stand up paddle board available as well. I didn’t see it mentioned in the listing, but there was a paddle boat on the shore that we enjoyed using. My kids also enjoyed playing on the Wii, the top golf game, and challenging their dad to foosball. We had one rainy day, and my kids didn’t have any problems entertaining themselves. I appreciated the second lounge area with tv so I could watch something while my kids played on the Wii. Grendel lake was busy over memorial weekend due to the closest neighbor having a ton of people over, but by Monday evening the lake was quiet and continued to be so for the rest of the week. The water was much cleaner than I expected after staying with friends at a couple other chalets in the past at other lakes. You could see the bottom several feet out from the shore which was helpful since my daughter is a bit scared of snakes. The chalet is close to the water as well so it’s not a trek to get to the lake like the other chalets I’ve stayed at. Overall, we enjoyed our week and would stay here again.

This was an amazing home. The property was very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. We truly enjoyed our stay on the lake, in the quiet, and spacious Chalet. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating areas and the canoe. We will definitely book with this Chalet and property manager, again.

Pictures don’t do this property justice! The scenery is beautiful! We had the worst weather when we were there, it rained the whole time. The owners knew the forecast wasn’t looking good so they made sure to provide extra games for the kids. This was definitely one of the cleanest and most stocked properties that we have stayed at. We still got some canoeing and fishing in but hiking will have to wait for our next visit. We will definitely go back for longer when the weather is warmer!

A few items: - We enjoyed the decks, pier and canoe. Fishing was so relaxing as was paddling around the lake on the canoe. - The open living room/kitchen area was perfect for meal prep without missing visiting time. - Bedrooms and beds cozy and comfy. - Entire place was squeaky clean. - Wifi and TV worked perfectly! Cannot wait to return!

We've stayed at several Innsbrook rental properties and this one ranks as the best! Beautiful property, clean and fun with lots of little amenities - love the kids boats/paddles, great fishing - bass (live warms or black rubber warms) and catfish (love cheese hotdogs or mac-n-cheese), great swimming, firepit with firewood!
