The suite is spacious and everything you need is provided. The air conditioners work well. The Zimbali Estate is very accessible as there is pools and access to the private beach. There is a driver that drops you off and collects you. Ballito and Umhlanga is close by. Rishaad was very helpful and responded to all messages and everything was sorted before I arrived.

I had to constantly ask if the cleaner was going to come and clean as I paid the cleaning fee of R390 per night. I stayed for 5 nights and there was 2 days where the cleaner did not come. The security at the west gate was slow and not helpful with check in. They sent us to Zimbali Reception office which was not needed as they check you in at the security west gate.

Gate Access Code and Suite Access Code was a nightmare. Guests should have one gate access code that is valid for the duration of the booking. The gate access code was for a single entry. Every time we wanted to eat out we had to text for a code which never came on time or at all. Avoid micro managing a paying guest.

Lots of changes (restrictions) from last visit. Staff are despondent and hence service standards are low. Zimbali Suites seems to be inferior, staff and security in the estate show reluctance to assist when establishing where we staying.

Nothing except the view from the hotel which we couldn't enjoy after the run around.

1. I had specifically made a special note to please air out the apartment before we arrived. When we arrived there was a stuffy smell and it felt claustrophobic. 2. The sofas were stained and it became quiet uninviting. 3. Access to anything to watch was a mission. The wifi kept dropping and we weren't aware we had to put our own log in details to watch anything. 4. We were there for a function and returned before our parents who went out for the evening afterward and wanted something to eat, the restaurants were mainly closed and the one open did not suit us. Around 8pm we ordered food. The food arrived, however the reception at the suite was clueless how to get a code for the delivery guy to enter. We were then sent to the hotel(Capital) who said they could assist us by selling us a code. We then queried again which led reception on the other side of the hotel to tell us it doesn't work that way. A contractor then said we can pay for a shuttle to take us to the gate, which we did. Later we realized she was just pocketing the money and it was not am ordinary bill as she couldn't give me an invoice. Keep in mind, it was freezing, raining and extremely uncomfortable to go back and forth. 5. Access everywhere was NOT ALLOWED. I had made a lunch reservation at the Valley of the Pools. I checked out and went to lunch, only for them to say I need a access code and should go back, get a shuttle and return. This was extremely frustrating as we were hungry after not being able to have a cup of coffee ( there was only 4 sachets of sugar for a suite for 4 people!) We honestly gave up and left and it is highly unlikely to book again at this venue unless we see improvements. Zimbali is such a beautiful location, these issues could of been avoided if communication lines were open and staff/contractors were trustworthy and could direct us properly!

Place is well managed, swift check and check out we thoroughly enjoy the unit and our stay We had fun throught the property, bush buck meals were lovely and vibe was just great thank to Byron for shuttling us around
