Nestled in Prince Edward County, this charming cottage for £163 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. The Island Gales cottage on Forest Hills Lane is centrally located and seconds from all amenities and activities Cavendish has to offer. This newly renovated and beautifully decorated vacation home is on a private treed lot with plenty of green space for kids and adults to play. The property has 3 bedrooms plus a loft, 2.5 bathrooms, fully equipped spacious kitchen, large dining area, bright comfortable living room area, covered front porch, large side deck and firepit. The cottage sleeps 10 people. As you walk in the door, you are greeted with the spacious kitchen which offers stainless steel appliances, ample counter space and storage, a pantry and an island with seating for two people. The large dining area with a gorgeous vaulted pine ceiling is situated just beyond the kitchen with seating for eight people. There are large windows overlooking the front porch and the landscaped front yard. Adjacent to the dining room is the bright airy living room that features two large sofas for comfortable seating, fireplace, and TV/Sat to help you relax after your long days of exploring. Also found on the main level is the master bedroom with queen bed and 3-piece ensuite, the second bedroom with queen bed, main full bathroom and full size washer and dryer. Upstairs, you will find the third bedroom with double and twin bed, a loft area with three twin beds, a bench for reading and half bathroom. The cottage also offers a large side deck located on the north side which is easily accessible from the living/dining area. The deck is outfitted with propane BBQ, dining tables and chairs along with comfortable conversation seating area and fire table. Enjoy the gorgeous summer evenings out on the deck or sitting around the adjacent firepit, with a crackling fire and roasting marshmallows. For the early risers, you can enjoy your morning coffee on the front covered porch overlooking the landscaped yard. For golfers in the group, some of PEIs premiere courses are nearby such as Green Gables, Eagles Glenn, Glasgow Hills, Anderson Creek. Forest Hills golf course is just at the end of the street. Minutes away (within walking distance) from the cottage are Cavendish National Park beach and trails, Avonlea Village, Mariners Cove Boardwalk, Family Fun Park, Cavendish Boardwalk, Anne of Green Gables, Cavendish Grove hiking trails, restaurants, grocery store, liquor store and a gas station with a Tim Hortons. The cottage comes complete with a playpen and highchair for families travelling with young children, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, full size washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, Netflix/Prime/Disney+, bed linens, towels, beach towels, beach toys, outdoor games. NOTE: Amenities in Cavendish are closed during the off season (mid October to May). During this period, the closest restaurants, liquor store and grocery store will be in North Rustico which is less than 10 minutes drive. The cottage is approximately 30 minutes from Charlottetown and 30 minutes from Summerside. Access to National Park is year round. For winter activities in Cavendish area, search Cavendish Winter Activity Hub online for more details. For additional winter activities, Mark Arendz ski park is about 20km away from the cottage. Our stay at the Island Gales Cottage was perfect!! Kevin and Lourdes are exceptional, thoughtful hosts, and their generous hospitality and warm welcome were much appreciated. Kevin’s orientation to the property upon our arrival was very helpful. The cottage and surrounding property are beautiful and in a quiet, relaxing setting. All of the amenities are excellent, which can be attributed to Kevin and Lourdes attention to detail. They have thought of everything and more that will make a stay at their cottage extra special. As you can tell, our stay at the cottage was the best!! We definitely want to return some day. We highly recommend the Island Gales Cottage!!

What an incredible find! A great cottage for a getaway! Our group of women met at University (many years ago) and have been getting together annually for over 20 years. This is easily the nicest, best equipped cottage at which we have ever stayed. Kevin & Lourdes have thought of every thing one could possibly want or need & more. We were greeted with a lovely welcome basket of garden veges, a well stocked kitchen & pantry including coffee , tea, basic herbs, spices, etc. There were 7 very comfortable beds, plenty of towels, and extra blankets for cooler evenings & nights. Lots of comfortable seating, inside & out, perfect for chatting (& maybe a little wine). The only deficiency we could find…there was no rocking chair😉 😉!!!! This is a great place to stay….we will certainly consider more visits.

I think this is the nicest, cleanest place we’ve ever booked for a family vacation. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had anything we could need! They even had a little welcome basket and tourist information waiting for our arrival. Would definitely recommend!

This home is perfect for 3 couples and a couple of kids. It is very well appointed, lots of very thoughtful decorating touches, and easy to cook in (great appliances and ample cookware). The outdoor space, with propane fireplace or wood fire pit are delightful! The host was most accommodating and everything about this property is nothing shy of 5 star! Highly recommended.

This has been the best place we've ever stayed at. Plenty of room, clean, comfortable beds, great location, well-stocked with just about anything you'd need for your stay! We didn't need to bring/buy anything extra. Hosts were very quick to answer any messages. Kevin came over the evening we arrived and showed us around and answered any questions we had. Highly recommend!! We hope you stay here again in the future!! Thank you 😊

My cousin and my brother and his wife came to explore PEI because our grandmother was born and we visited cemeteries that held our relations . The cottage was the perfect gathering place and the gardens and beautiful features of the house made it very comfortable and attractive . The surrounding area was great to explore . A perfect trip for our family and we hope to return with friends to share the experience . Lourdes and Kevin are exceptional hosts and went above and beyond to make us happy .

There were 7 of us stayed at this beautiful cottage in Cavendish to celebrate our 30th reunion and it couldn’t have been any better! The cottage had everything we needed and more including 2 beautiful sitting areas, comfortable beds, a fire pit, electric fireplace and was stocked with plenty of towels and amenities. Lourdes and Kevin are amazing landlords and were there to accommodate us whenever we needed anything. We are spreading the word about this beautiful cottage and location and hope to be back again soon. 🙏💕

Really the best property our family has stayed in - set up thoughtfully with everything you need, great location. We had so much fun exploring the island and this was a perfect home base. Kevin greeted us on arrival and was very responsive. Really nice extra touches like wood for the fire pit, a welcome basket, kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, basics for cooking. The location was lovely. Very close to Brackley Beach, New London, Rustico. Very private. Hosts live next door and were very helpful but only if we needed them. Their property was lovely. We enjoyed their outdoor sitting areas and the home was very well maintained. Lots of space to relax and enjoy one another's company. Highly recommend this property for adult getaway or families with children. Lots of amenities close by.

This stay suited our family 8 of us stayed at the house and 3 visited. There is lots of room and privacy within the house. It was perfectly cleaned and set up .it was great to have so many basics there for us to use. Coffee was one thing supplied and it was a good coffee. Kevin and Lourdes are very friendly and helpful. We have stayed a number of places and we all agreed this rental has been the best.

This cottage was perfect for our family get together. The cottage was immaculate, well decorated, and had plenty of room for 8 of us. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we could possibly want or need. We highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a get away. The O'Leary's were available for anything we needed and gave us a tour of the place when we arrived, Wonderful people to rent from.. FIVE STARS ARE NOT ENOUGH FOR THIS PLACE!

Wow, what an amazing cottage. It contained everything we needed. Every minute detail was taken care off. Well decorated & cleaned, the grounds were immaculately kept (even after Fiona). The hosts, Kevin & Lourdes, were very friendly & hospitable. I absolutely fill in love with this place & most definitely will be going back. Trip was definitely too short.

This is a beautiful property with fabulous landscaping and immaculate grounds. We enjoyed the outside firepit and fire table every evening which provided a social, friendly atmosphere for a group of friends celebrating a long awaited reunion. Everything was provided in the cottage needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Also, appreciated the tour of the premises by the host upon arrival. and his availability during our stay. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to enjoy PEI and looking for the perfect spot where to do so.

Our extended family stayed at the cottage for two nights, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beautiful cottage includes a variety of amenities to keep our active children busy during a rainy day. We enjoyed both the fire table and the fire pit in the back yard, as well as the numerous sitting areas to catch up with our loved ones. Thanks to Kevin and Lourdes for their attention to detail. Not our first time and will not be our last!
This was not our first stay and it will not be our last. 2 families (10 People in total) stayed comfortably at the Green Gables house for a week and did not go without anything. The decor, little details, convenience of location and the owners are all top notch. Everything you could possibly need or think of is there for you. The location is wonderful as it is on a sideroad but just off of the main drag in Cavendish within minutes of all amenities and tourist attractions. Kevin and Lourdes are kind and helpful owners who obviously take great pride in Green Gables. A few little things that just made sense and were appreciated for us as a travelling family: Crisp and beautiful linens on all beds, bath towels and beach towels, a welcome basket with goodies for kids and adults, a hand-written/ drawn welcome letter from Kevin and Lourdes, pantry basics - enough to cover the first meal and coffee in the morning, outside play structure for the kids, basket of toys for the kids, beach items like chairs and sand toys, netflix , disney+, and wifi, outside propane fireplace, lots of beautiful outside furniture, 3 bathrooms with toiletries, onsite laundry with soap, a fully stocked kitchen, BBQ and all tools, and A/C. The owners are close and helpful and we are already looking forward to the next time we can stay again.

Awesome stay!
I really think this is the prettiest property on all of Prince Edward Island. We fell in love from the minute we drove up and saw the house. We were also greeted by a gift basket with goodies from the island. Kevin and Lordes were so welcoming and accommodating. They thought of every little detail to make our stay comfortable. They provided s'mores ingredients as well as plenty of towels and games and puzzles. I would highly recommend this property!

Best vacation rental EVER!!
Amazing property. There is everything you need and so much more. Beds and pillows were so comfortable. The back/side yard was beautiful and always sunny. The kids had so much fun with the giant outdoor Jenga game, badminton set and the indoor board games. We will definitely book again!! You are a 20 out of 10 for sure!! Thank you Kevin and Lourdes!!!

This cottage knocked it out of the park. If I could give it a 10 star, I would. We were a party of 4, all in our golden years and we’re so well cared for! Kevin and Lourdes were the consummate hosts. The property was beautiful, comfortable, clean and so well stocked, we were shocked. Kevin, y’all have raised the bar so far, I am pretty sure all the other folks who have cottages for rent will give up in despair. We will be coming back. Thank you again for everything!

Weekend get-away
It was a very relaxing time with cozy surroundings. The place was super clean. And they have thought of everything. They had a beautiful bottle of wine and some treats for us when we arrived. Also, a lovely note. The beds were very comfortable. They were very caring. Even scraped the snow off my car in the morning to save me the trouble. Very thoughtful. Thanks Kevin and Lourdes!!! This property was impeccably furnished and decorated. The amenities were all in perfect order.
