We never got to stay in this unit, so I can't really review this specific location. We were told there was a water leak and according to previous reviews, there have been other issues with staying here for other renters. We were informed the day of our stay that we could pick from two other units close by, and the one we picked was nice enough. It was newly remodeled according to the manager, which was evident in some missing furniture. It wasn't really a big deal but the modems were on the floor and it just had an "unfinished" feeling to it. The biggest issue we had was the ants. They were in the kitchen and the bathrooms. I killed a bunch of them and kept finding them. The owners obviously knew it was an issue because there were ant traps throughout that didn't seem to be doing a lot. Overall it was a nice place in a good location, but for what it cost per night I would expect it to not have an ant issue. Outside of that I would recommend staying here again.

The property wasn’t the initial unit we booked but it was a really nice property with a view of the marina. Our flight was really delayed and someone met us at the unit late that night to help us get checked in which was great. The only issue we had was that one of our children locked the bathroom door and we had to wait until the next day for maintenance to open it (it would be great if a key was left in the apartment so renters could unlock the doors if this happens). I would definitely recommend the property.

Poor communication with manager/owner. Very slow to return messages with questions prior to our reservation. On the day of our reservation in I had not received any instructions 2 hours before check in time of 4 pm. I received a response via email at 4:30 saying the reservation was cancelled because they had ants. No phone call. Had to scramble to find a place to stay.

This unit is one of several managed by the host in a large Marina del Ray condo complex. I rented this unit because it had three beds, and I was travelling with my two young adult children, and also based on the photos. First red flag is that they don't give you check-in information until an hour before your reservation. When I got mine, they gave me a different address than in the listing. When I questioned them, they first tried to tell me that I was being directed to the correct unit, and the address of the listing was just a "meeting" address. When I arrived at the condo, it was not the one I booked. There were only two beds, and the unit was sparsely furnished. When I contacted the host, I was told that there were "plumbing" problems with my unit and so they needed to switch me - although no attempt had been made to tell me about these problems in advance or to communicate with me about an appropriate alternative. The host did offer to cancel and refund my reservation - good luck with finding another rental on the weekend of the National Championship Football game. I feel like it was a bait-and-switch. The room I was given had cheap furniture, a broken/missing stair rail, broken/missing TP holder, and scuffed walls. I requested that the host refund one of the four days of my stay to compensate for the downgrade but she refused and claimed I had been put in a "deluxe" unit. I will say that the location is great, close to the beach, airport, and LA attractions. And the host does communicate and answer questions. But I would advise that you require the host to give you check in instructions in advance and make sure the address matches up with the listing.
