A perfect spot if you have several family members traveling with you. 3 bedrooms, gated community, very safe, quiet. Private pool, kitchen, big TV area. Walking distance to spa at Secrets (or the masseuse will come to you!). Short drive to shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The owner and the staff are very responsive. The unit comes with chef, housekeeper, etc. The best part is Sir Baker the driver, who will take you all over, set up the tours you need, make sure the bookings all work out. He's ready to go at any time and reliable. He knows *everyone*. Just make sure you tell him what you want to do (or take his suggestions) and he will make it happen. Yeah mon! One Love.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional hospitality I received during my recent stay. The experience was truly remarkable, and I cannot thank you enough for making it so memorable. The villa’s beauty exceeded all expectations with its design and spacious layout providing the perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The location on the water added a serene touch, and the private pool was a delightful bonus, creating a haven of relaxation. Although it was a last minute booking, your attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction were evident in every aspect of my stay. I would also like to thank our driver Mr. Baker for making our trip truly exceptional. From assisting with excursion bookings, to grabbing dinner for us. Mr. Baker demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to ensuring our comfort and enjoyment. This review would not be complete without acknowledging Mrs Dorothy. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to her for the incredible warm welcome she extended to us. Her hospitality and attention to detail truly set the tone for a delightful stay. Another reviewer said it best – “if you are looking for a property, don’t delay select this one now!” They were right. This property is well maintained, very clean, and the views are amazing! Additionally, as we were celebrating a monumental birthday for my significant other with our 14 year old, I was looking for a place that was spacious, near the water, with great views and had a pool. Shimmering Waters checked each box and continued to exceed expectations from the moment I made the reservation. The host – Ralph – was very attentive and I must say that meant a great deal to me as I’m known for my attention to detail which can drive some a little crazy! Ralph took it all in stride and actually matched my level of detail, many times surpassing my expectations with every response. We also utilized service providers that were recommended by Ralph which included a driver, a chef, and a person to take us out on the water. I must say each person we engaged with and the resulting experience was absolutely wonderful. Even the persons who managed the home looked after our every need and were overly kind. I have nothing but wonderful commentary about the home, the host and the Shimmering Water’s team. We will always return to Ralph’s property when we visit Jamaica. I had the pleasure of staying at Shimmering Waters on my recent jamaica trip, and I can't say enough about the exceptional experience I had. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this place was meticulously maintained. The excellent housekeeping was evident in every corner of the property, ensuring a pristine and inviting atmosphere. The gated community (the Lagoons) is quite and beautiful. The security does not play and is very attentive and strict with who can enter and exit, yet welcoming and friendly. They take pride in there job
I must give a special shoutout to the wonderful staff member, Dorothy, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and hassle-free. Her warm hospitality and attentiveness were truly remarkable.
Transportation was a breeze thanks to the great Mr. Baker, making it convenient to explore the area. He ensured we were safe and comfortable everywhere we went. His knowledge and pride of his country try is evident and professionalism is too notch.
The owner and host of Shimmering Waters deserve all the praise as well. His dedication to ensuring clear communication and a flawless stay was evident throughout my visit.
The amenities provided were top-notch, making my stay even more enjoyable. The cleanliness, serenity, and safety of the location added to the overall satisfaction of my stay. Shimmering Waters is definitely worth staying at if your going to experience Jamaica with a group or family. Our group of 6 all first timers; celebrating anniversaries arrived to rose petals, a cute towel design on the bed, balloons and Champagne.
Ralph is an incredible host. He was available, accommodating and very friendly. He was attentive when I experienced an issue with the master shower. He had the plumber out the next day to fix the issue. Also, the pool umbrella was mangled in a storm and was fixed by the staff the next day. The place was clean, safe, secluded and has lots of amenities.
We utilized the recommendations of CHEF Merrick (OMG) food was delicious, reasonable and he is in and out. He serves the food, cleans and provides a whole experience. Love it.
Housekeeping and masseuse were all professional and kind. The driver Mr. Baker was knowledgeable but a little pushy to utilize his services. Side note: Bring cash and expect to pay for transportation plus tip to travel the island.
Again, a very worthy space made available for others to experience. The pool and views all breathtaking… I would recommend Shimmering Waters to anyone coming to Jamaica. Thank you Ralph and staff for making us feel welcomed and celebrated. One❤️

This place was absolutely beautiful in every way… we stayed as a party of 6 comfortable with plenty of space. The communication with all members of Shimmering waters, to include Mr. Ralph, the chef, the drivers, and the housekeeper was continuous and free flowing to ensure all our needs and wants were met, Mr. Baker (The driver) picked us up from the airport as schedule and was very friendly, he and his team, Mr. Blake was very flexible in accommodating our schedules, all amenities were as advertise, most importantly for us we found the location and scenery out of this world, especially the poolside views experience. I would rate the overall experience at Shimmering waters above 10 if I could. On my next trip to Jamaica, I will definitely be staying there.

Ralph communication was amazing through out the entire process , the property was as beautiful as the pictures I couldn't get over the view . It was safe . The entire Staff was like family literally I enjoyed every minute . Mr Baker being a driver is a understatement he's a security guard , tour guide , driver and friend . My stay was nothing short of amazing . I utilized the chef , driver , massage service and everyone service and communication was immaculate . I wish I would have stayed longer I loved it .

Both the house and everything that comes with it are amazing. Home itself is spacious, perfectly kept and the pool area is every bit as beautiful as the pictures suggest. Communication with the host was fantastic.
Maybe most important, you should consider using the driver and chef service. Mr. Baker (driver) was the friendliest person you’ll meet and indispensable for getting around and finding good spots. I don’t know how we would’ve managed without him.
Chef Merrick and Chef Royal prepared absolutely incredible meals, for a price comparable to restaurants. Again, both are extremely friendly and accommodating.

I booked this villa for my best friend’s bachelorette weekend, there was a total of six of us. I cannot stress how wonderful everything was, including the team.
To start off Ralph, the owner, was very thorough and diligent when it came to the check in process and communicating all the information that I needed. You can make your stay as inclusive as you’d like. They offer an array of add ons from massages to a personal chef. All the work is done for you, which is exactly what you want when you’re on vacation.
Mrs. Dorothy made sure we had everything we needed and the Villa was spotless. Mr. Baker was our trusted driver/ bodyguard. I would 100% recommend using the driver for anything in the area, taxis are very expensive otherwise. He was able to pick us up from the airport, which saved us a lot of time.
The house was very spacious with a beautiful master bedroom. The pool area and the view were stunning. 10/10

The property is really well maintained thanks to the sweet housekeeper and grounds/pool staff. The community is gated with 24/7 guard and requires ID to get in/out, we felt very safe. There is a communal gym, tennis courts, and lap pool available. We hired a photographer to come to the house to take photos of our group and we were able to also get some amazing shots. The pool was perfect for lounging and the waterfront view was gorgeous. The house is really quiet and private. The AC worked really well and we had tons of space. There is also a small safe for valuables.

2) Mr. Baker was AWESOME - basically our tour guide, bodyguard, driver, and friend. We invited him to join us for dinner at the end of our stay! He's always on time or early and very professional. He is well connected and has tons of suggestions for bars, excursions and restaurants. I definitely recommend booking transportation and excursions directly with Mr. Baker rather than online because then you can be on your own time. You aren't on a shared tour bus with others, Mr. Baker is a really safe driver and is accommodating to your needs (music, bathroom breaks, starbucks stop, liquor or convenience store, etc.).
3) OMG Chef Thomas -- absolutely amazing. His recipes are unique, nothing like what you would find in a restaurant. We had delicious Jamaican cuisine - braised oxtail, brown chicken, jerk chicken, seafood boil, cocktails, fruit platters, and more. He arranged for a pastry chef to make us a stunning cake.
We definitely recommend anyone stay in Shimmering Waters!!

Tanisha, the housekeeper, met us at the door….after being dropped off by Mr.Baker, the jolly taxi driver that met us with a sign! Tanisha showed us around and explained all the fixtures and TV. Everything was sparkling clean and nothing was missed!
Note* Ask Mr. Baker to stop at the grocery store to pick up more toilet tissue if there are more than two people, some creamer, sunscreen, some alcohol and snacks. (There are no markets that are walking distance) Lastly, have him take you to Scotiabank that will allow 24/7 US money ATM withdrawals. You should have a lot of cash on you because that’s what rules on this island! Try your hardest not to get hustled. (If you hire a honest driver, like Mr. Baker, they will help you avoid that. But even Mr. Baker is tryna make a living too …if you know what I mean)
There is a restaurant at the Yacht Club that’s about a 10 min walk or a $15 cab ride.
I must warn you if it’s your first time in Jamaica. This is NOT an all inclusive resort so you much financially prepare for the exclusivity of this amazing home. You must pay to travel around the island! These taxi drivers will try to up charge you and they EXPECT a tip which is super annoying.
Airport Ride: $20 + $10 tip
Margaritaville Montego Bay / 2727 Club: $30+$10
Pier 1: $30+$10
Negril: Mr. Baker charges $200 (we found a driver that took us for $130 and we gave him $160)

Kingston: $220 (We stopped asking Mr. Baker so I’m no sure how much he charged)
The benefit of have Mr. Baker is his knowledge and experience of the island also you don’t have to hunt down a cheaper driver in hopes that you find a honest one that won’t drive you into a bush somewhere … But luckily I already had a friend who came a few times and found a guy that she always uses so that was a blessing for us. Being a single mother with just my bestie, we weren’t paying crazy money to just drive around the island!
Last note* I think that everyone should book a Jamaican vacation the way I did. First experience this home! Secluded and relaxing huge home. Hire the chef for a couple days and lay out in the pool without seeing a soul (maybe the pool guy) It’s freakin amazing!!! Then stay at a all inclusive so you can have free food and drinks! One ❤️

The host and support staff of Shimmering Waters were on point! Ralph, the premiere host, was very attentive throughout the entire process and communication with him was a breeze. His attention to details was evident.
He passed on useful contact information for his crew so that planning ahead of the visit could be possible. He even had relevant information regarding the emergency services, embassies, etc. in convenient locations in the house.
There were hand sanitizers in most rooms and Lysol was also available. If one wanted a COVID-19 test prior to departure, it could be arranged to be done on site.
We were greeted by the very affable Tanesha (housekeeper) who graciously showed us around the property. At the end of the visit, she returned with Dorothy (housekeeper) to do the walk through.
Nakesha, the massage therapist, was excellent as she delivered her massage by the poolside in the cool of the morning. How relaxing! However, we did not need the driving service this trip.
The kitchen was fully stocked with crockery and utensils. Food, either purchased from nearby restaurants or prepared there, could be easily stored and reheated.
Now, the most exquisite thing about the property is the stunning view of the water that greets you as you pass through the front door. It is truly surreal! Words would not suffice nor do justice in trying to describe this place; one simply has to experience it. Do not hesitate! You will not regret it! Definitely deserving of a return visit!

We had so much fun staying here and Ralph was such a gracious host. From pickup at the airport to staff greeting us at checkin, everyone was great. Please book Chef Merrick! He was such a pleasure and his food was better than all of the restaurants we tried. Ralph was reachable via text and phone when we had an issue with power and accommodated us to get out of the home until it was fixed. Overall just great people and a great home!

This Villa is by far exceeded our expectations. The pictures are exactly as advertised. I know now how this villa got it’s name Shimmering Waters. We literally loved everything about this place including having Chef Merrick and Housekeeper Tanesha. Every meal was delicious and the presentation of the meal was so nice. You can tell that Merrick loves his craft .Ralph the owner of the villa was always very attentive to our needs readily available to answer any questions we had. Ralph you truly have an amazing place! All I can say is WOW, we just didn’t want to leave! I’m not sure where I begin but Ralph(the host) went above and beyond!!
Staying at this house made our trip the trip of a lifetime, the pictures don’t do this house justice.
If you’re looking for somewhere that’s safe, with beautiful scenery, and an accommodating host and staff then look no further!
To start, the hospitality provided was what really made our vacation stress free and so relaxing. If there was the slightest problem Ralph responds quickly and always has a solution.. luckily we didn’t have any major issues (just small COVID testing questions)

Ralph also connected us with a driver, Mr. Baker and we all miss him so soooo much already!!! We booked Mr. Baker for the entire trip and he was ALWAYS on time (in fact early) and when we told him the activities we wanted to do he organized it all for our group of 5 and just gave us the times we needed to be ready.
Mr. Baker took us to all of the hidden spots that we wouldn’t have gotten to see without him and even surprised us with taking us to so many beautiful restaurants that were nice and private with great scenery. We enjoyed him so much we asked him join us for breakfast towards the end! Before I forget to mention; Mr. Baker always had a great sense of humor and resolutions to the slightest problems as well:) we miss you!!
Also we can’t forget Tanisha(sorry if I misspelled it), she did the housekeeping and she was so sweet too we miss her so much!! If we needed anything she was always ready and willing to help and was so kind to everyone!! She helped do some laundry towards the end of our stay and we had her come by in the middle to do housekeeping and she made sure we had all new fresh towels, sheets, and everything she did her job so so well!!!!
Last but not least we had Chef Merrick make us a traditional Jamaican dinner the first night we were there and the food was perfect after a long flight so definitely would recommend booking him as well!

Expectations exceeded. WOW!!
All I can say is WOW, we just didn’t want to leave! I’m not sure where I begin but Ralph(the host) went above and beyond!!
Staying at this house made our trip the trip of a lifetime, the pictures don’t do this house justice.
If you’re looking for somewhere that’s safe, with beautiful scenery, and an accommodating host and staff then look no further!

Incredible property and service
If beauty, safety and cleanliness are important to you then you need look no further for ‘the best’ VRBO Caribbean property. If you can peel yourself away from the serene private pool area with lovely landscaping, there is a lap pool and 2 nice tennis courts steps away in this small gated community. The house has air throughout so comfortable to come in from the heat if needed (which was for these northerners!). Each room has hand sanitizing stations and every room was spotless and well provided. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even stocking the fridge as he knew stores would be closing early due to Covid the day we arrived! He also made himself available the entire time for questions and recommended an incredible driver that took care of us all week (Bronstein Baker). One daughter had to attend some college courses and the Wi-Fi was measured at 160 Mb/s so all cell phones and laptops were easily supported on the new wireless internet. The master suite is palatial and all beds appeared new and super comfortable (no sore back!). The moon rise above the lagoon was worth the price of admission alone. The kitchen was very modern with a 6 burner gas cook top and we even had an outside grill for cooking as we ate in quite a bit due to Covid. Unlike some other countries, we drank the water right from tap and had no issues. We are already planning our return trip - ya mon!!!
