About this house rental
Fox Trot Ridge is a new construction cabin with panoramic Lake Superior views that are unmatched. You will feel like you are on top of the world as you walk through the door. The main floor has a beautiful open floor plan with a charming sunroom adjacent where you can enjoy the outdoor deck. Also on the main floor is the first master bedroom with a King Bed and a double vanity en suite. The lower level has an additional master bedroom with King bed and it's own double vanity en suite, and two more additional bedrooms which share a full bathroom. The lower level is perfect for kids with its own large screen TV viewing area and a full size ping pong table and dart board. You will not run out of room in the mudroom for all of your guest's gear, and the full washer and dryer are right there to use. The dining table seats 10 comfortably and is positioned to take in the amazing view. No more than 5 minutes from the ski hill, this location is right in the middle of the most desirable North Shore Attractions. With 6 acres of land, and adjacent to the most protected forest land on the North Shore (Scientific Natural Resource Land), you will feel like you have truly escaped. This property does border the cross country ski trails, and the snowmobile trails which is also a beautiful hiking trail in the warmer months. Superior National Golf Course is only 1 mile away. The North Shore Winery and Cider House is less than a mile away, and some may even walk! Take time to hike the nearby Superior Hiking trails, Oberg, Cascade, Temperance... they are all just minutes away. A Day trip to the Canadian border, Split Rock lighthouse, Gooseberry Falls, or Palisade Head is a treasure. This cabin is only 20 minutes from Grand Marais where you can shop, dine, and experience the most charming small town in Minnesota. You may have the opportunity to view wildlife as well. You may even see the fox which this cabin was named after. Additionally you may see deer, bear, and a multitude of beautiful birds. The North Shore is home to Lynx, bobcats, owls, wolves, coyotes, eagles and so many more species. We hope you will come and enjoy everything Fox Trot Ridge has to offer! This location is exceptionally remote, please make note that all wheel drive/4 wheel drive and healthy tires are a must to reach the property during any inclement weather and certainly during non Summer months. We have taken it upon ourselves to to treat the property with an effective and green product to reduce mosquitos and eliminate deer ticks. Thank you for NOT SMOKING. Fox Trot Ridge is a smoke free property. Responsible renters must be 30 years old. We prefer groups of 10 or less. We are providing additional COVID cleaning procedures and allowing a 24 hour "rest period" between guests. You will find "safe-bags" to put your used linens in, so our cleaning crew can pick up and sanitize in a safe manner.

We booked this property for our first family trip in many years and let me tell you, the pictures online are great but they don't capture the beauty, seclusion and perfection that this house offers until you experience it in person! From the moment we arrived we were in aye of the property, its views and its amenities. We had a great time and I honestly have no advice on how to make the property or stay better. Thank you!

We all loved the home, the secluded location and everything else about it. What a place! Everyone in our party would like to come back again and I hope we can make that happen soon. Two of us traveled from New Mexico, one from North Carolina and two from Minnesota. It was a wonderful vacation and I wish we could have stayed a few more days. Next time.....

Lovely home in a very private, gorgeous setting with amazing views of Lake Superior. Home owner was very responsive to our inquires. A great floor plan for a family gathering and the furniture and beds were very comfortable. We typically stay on the lake but really enjoyed the impressive views from this home and will plan to visit again.

This home has it all! The incredible views of Lake Superior make it difficult to leave. Make sure you watch the sunrise with your morning coffee in the comfy recliners. The home is beautifully furnished. Love the big kitchen and dining table for enjoying family meals. Our grandsons played endless games of ping pong downstairs. All of the beds were comfortable and everyone slept well. Spacious bathrooms made it easy for all to get ready quickly. The location is perfect for hiking the Superior Hiking Trail or golfing. A stop at Northshore Winery nearby was surprisingly good and would recommend anytime. And after a long day hiking. we were all excited to get back to this beautiful Northwoods lodge!

We were looking for great place to spend a beautiful weekend for our trail marathon group. We found it. Lovely new home with a great view of the lake (once the rainy weather cleared).

The Fox Trot Ridge home is Uber comfy! Our group loved the house and location. It is very well appointed, it has everything you could need for a restful stay. We all cooked, and we found the pantry stocked and the knives were sharp.
We golfed and hiked, saw the sites, kayaked the lake, rode the gondola and the Alpine slide, lunched in Grand Marias, and had happy hour at the winery.
Highly recommended!

Fabulous spot to celebrate our mom’s birthday
Fox Trot Ridge was the perfect spot for our group of six adults, 2 teenagers, and two kids (7 and 8). It was a short drive to a various trail heads or there was lots of activities to just be together at the house. Thank you Katie for sharing your place with us.

Great Place
This is one of the best places that I have stayed in on the North Shore. Everything from the furnishings to the view were outstanding! The views are unbelievable. I was able to get some great pictures of the Milky Way from the deck. We will be coming back again.

We were a family of six with four daughters (8, 6, 3, & 1) traveling with grandparents. The house was perfect for us, with room to spare. The location was private, the panoramic views from the huge windows were incredible, and the layout of the house was perfect. We didnt' use the downstairs living area at all, but there was a great place to watch movies or play ping pong. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make meals, the beds were comfy and the house was very clean. We will very likely return in the future, but my guess is it will become increasingly difficult to find availability at such a gem of a rental. Highly recommend.

We have been visiting the north shore for several years. This was our 3rd VRBO stay up north and it was by far the best. This house has everything you would need; the kitchen was well stocked, plenty of board games, ping pong table, firewood for campfires, blankets for the cool nights and gifts from the host. We had a rainy day during our stay and we didn’t mind staying in. We made a great dinner in the fabulous kitchen, played ping pong & card games, enjoyed the bottle of wine gifted by the host and watched a movie. We definitely plan on booking this property again.

Great Property
We have been visiting the north shore for several years. This was our 3rd VRBO stay up north and it was by far the best. This house has everything you would need; the kitchen was well stocked, plenty of board games, ping pong table, firewood for campfires, blankets for the cool nights and gifts from the host. We had a rainy day during our stay and we didn’t mind staying in. We made a great dinner in the fabulous kitchen, played ping pong & card games, enjoyed the bottle of wine gifted by the host and watched a movie. We definitely plan on booking this property again.

This brand new home is immaculate and gorgeous. We had the house completely filled up for three days and never felt crowded or uncomfortable. The grandkids and our adult kids loved the amenities (ping pong! Woodland trail! Big tv! Game board!) and we loved seeing everyone have fun then go home so gramma and grampa could enjoy the secluded peace and quiet. 🙂 We highly recommend.

There was ample space and the pictures online were exactly what we found. No detail was left out by the property owners when building and creating this space. The home is in a remote location one mile up a gravel road but the views are spectacular. The property owner gave tons of great hints in her welcome packet as well as offering suggestions to questions I asked prior to the trip.

What a wonderful place to get away in a quiet, immaculate house! We just had a wonderful week away from it all in Lutsen, and Foxtrot was the perfect place to call home. Me along with my Wife and 3 children (5 and under), Sister and Brother in law along with their 2 kids (7 and 11), as well as our Parents had a wonderful time. The home is within 15 minutes to most attractions and parks you would want to go to. It is a brand new home with beautiful finishes, comfortable beds and views of Superior second to none. Although we did not see any wildlife, that has nothing to do with Katie's skill to serve as an amazing host. We could go on and on about how wonderful this place was, bottom line, do not pass over this house. It has everything you will need for a week away, plenty of space for kids and adults, and at an incredibly reasonable price. We look forward to coming back to the North Shore again, and we expect to see a bear next time!

We had a fantastic time staying at Fix Trot Ridge. The views from the main room, balcony and pretty much any room of the house were priceless. It felt like you were in the clouds with Lake Superior not too far away.
The property was well-stocked with supplies. All the little touches from the decor to the Sonos speakers were well received by the whole family. The entire property was very relaxing. Beds were comfy and plenty of hot water.. We did take a mini-van up the there. It was a little hairy at first try, but you get used to it after you are more familiar with the road. You definitely need an all wheel drive or 4x4 during the non summer months though.
Anyway, highly recommend and definitely worth the money. Communcation with host was fast and efficient. Thank you so much for hosting us. Cheers!
