Fantastic facility, well maintained property, rooms, cleanliness and housekeeping -just t well appointed rooms, facility location is close to Pichola lake, Hathi pole and all major tourist destinations. Top of the mark home stay. Moreover, the host is very kind, helpful and welcoming. Personalized service and warmth never gives you a feeling of staying away from your home. This my stay met all the parameters of home -stay. Will rate breakfast 10/10. Warm, tasty, perfact portion, and presentation which makes you very happy and satisfied. I will highly recommend visitors to consider this facility over any others in Udaipur. Comfortable, safe, high quality service, cleanliness and hospitality by Col Ranawat and his staff was top of the line. Am looking forward to staying at this property again, for sure. Thanks Cavalry for hosting us.

We enjoyed our three nights at The Cavalry. Since the first moment, we felt comfortable. The colonel and his son were welcoming and charming at all times. The curfew hour at night was the only inconvenient we found, though they were flexible in the end. Nice stay in Udaipur!

The location is good , the rooms are huge and the bathroom.facilities are not . Good amount of lights .
Never heard a Non-veg thali to be 800 per person. While asking the old man said as there is no one else there the person who is serving also talked extra money for serving the plates and bringing good to the table.
The owner is quite irritating . As while the BF time is till 10.00am , he used to call me and if unavaible he would then call my husband from 9.00.
We stayed there from 29th july to 2nd aug and while last 2 days there was only one helping hand person for them(might be) , ( as told by him), and we were only guests there. For 2 days we faced so problems, even while talking them to give water or plates we used to text him in watsaap.
The owner seems to have ego issues as he was from military. Even on the first day when we reached there in the homestay after 18hrs journey, the first thing he asked was TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT. BUT WE DENIED AND PAID HALF.
There was not even a bell or intercome to call anyone and ask for plates or water . Even no one came to do the room clean or bedding for 5days.
SINCE 1ST AUG HE STARTED ASKING ABOUT THE MONEY. In true words he irritated us.

The location and rooms were amazing and extremely comfortable. Our host was also very hospitable and took time out to talk about the history of the place.
There were too many steep stairs to climb after a long a day of traveling around the city. The entrance to the property could be improved.

A wonderful time in a wonderful place.
I had the pleasure to stay at "the cavalry - abhay niwas" for 4 nights. Unlike many homestays - this place has real character. Col. Uday Bhan Singh, a retired army cavalry and polo rider, shared his military and royal history and gave the property a distinct identity, decorating the antique renovated homestead with horse-riding art, and naming each room with terms from his world.
I stayed in the "trot" room which was big and luxuriously decorated. The homestay is well maintained with great care.
The Col. Was so friendly and courteous, attentive and caring to my needs, and so is the fine staff.
Breakfast was tasty and finely home-cooked. The location is 10 minutes drive from the city palace, which was comfortable enough for me.
Of all the places i had booked in india, this is my favorite.

Booked this amazing facility for my parents.From the very first day post the booking, he has been very humble and guides well for the taxi services. Selflessly helpful and co-operative. They enjoyed it to the fullest. Host Col. Uday Bhan Singh was amazing and warmly greeted my parents with love. Mrs. Singh who is also great chef at this wonderful homestay served amazing breakfast. Would highly recommend this homestay for those who want to visit Udaipur but still want that homely feeling.

It's in a quite place so you can really rest after a long day full of experiences. Udai is an amazing host, he takes care of his guests very much. He is always reachable by whatsapp in case you need something. He has good suggestions and he can recommend you an excellent car driver for daily tours. We are very happy that we chose this accommodation!

I liked the host and the room. The rooms are very spacious including the bathroom which is very big. The rooms are very clean too. The food was very nice since it's home cooked. And the owner is a very friendly person.
May be the food option. I reduced the one star because they have very limited breakfast options. And since it's a homestay there are few rules, you can't come in late in the night. It's preferred to be back in the room by 10pm. And also the owner preferred the payment to be in cash which I didn't like.

The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Hospitality is amazing. He helped us with sightseeing tips. His family is very interesting and he took the time to tell us quite some stories.
The staff is well trained, discreet and well-looked after by the owner.
The room is very big and looks lovely. The bed is extremely comfortable. Bathroom is functional and has a good shower. Water & tea complimentary in the room. There is enough wardrobe space. AC available as well as extra blanket.
Breakfast was homemade and different every morning. The last morning, we even got a packed breakfast as we were leaving early.
Besides, communication prior to & during our stay with the owner was on point. He speaks and writes English well. He went out of his stay to help us with anything we needed!
Room is facing the street, which remains noisy for a big part of the night. We did not mind but people with light sleep may be disturbed.
As it's outside city center, you need a taxi/Uber every time. No restaurant on site. Again, that was not a problem for us though.

Had a wonderful stay at cavalry. The rooms were exactly as shown in pictures (very aesthetic). The staff was very polite and the breakfast was delicious. Also the services provided by them were quick. We personally did not face any difficulty or challenges during our stay at this property. Me and my wife stayed here for 2 nights, enjoyed every moment of the warmth & affection shown by the owner Uday Bhan Ji towards us. Had a memorable stay and would certainly visit again soon.

Our stay at the Cavalry was amazing! The staff was very caring and helpful. Col. uncle helped us with all queries and requirements for our travel on the outskirts of udaipur. The breakfast spread was tasty and the meals were home cooked. Best part about this place is that it's a homestay so it feels homely than that of any hotel🥰🌼

Central Udaipur location. Room is big, exceptionally clean, nicely decorated. Colonel and his wife are so hospitable, really going above and beyond. Breakfast is lovely (Expect a morning wake up call for breakfast.) If I am ever in Udaipur again I would be sure to stay at the Cavalry!

Mr & Mrs Ranawat, made our stay worth remembering. There friendly and soft approach is worth mentioning. Breakfast served was really good and homely.
Staff was courteous, Mr Laxman was very polite.
Cleanliness was top notch.
You are doing great, keep up your good work.

The property is very well maintained by the Col and his wife. The rooms are tastefully done. We had booked three rooms and each room had its own beautiful decor. Good Linen. Nice Beds. The hosts Col Udayban Singh and his wife were very polite and warm. Didnt make it feel like a hotel stay. Felt we have stayed in some one's house. They could help to arrange booking at a restaurant for Dinner. Give directions on where to shop and how to go. The best part i can never forget was the Col. assuring us that in case of any problem to return back to property post dinner, he would be willing to get his car to pick us up. Breakfast was homely and tasty.
Ok. The entry and the reception does not do justice to the Rooms. There are some constraints which Col explained why he could not do it. And a small word of caution, no lifts. You need to climb stairs. We had no problems with this. Also, no restaurant in house. But again, if one is okay with it, should not be an issue. Great places to eat around.

The breakfast served was quite good & fresh. The staff is quite helpful.
When we arrived at the property location, the room given to us was totally different from the room we had paid for. The host told us that they had a booking for an extended period of time, that's why we were given this room. The room and the bathroom wasn't kept very clean, and the room offered was far below our expectations. Totally not worth the price. Get your money's worth somewhere else.

The caretakers are nice boys and we were happy with the room. The breakfast provided is also filling. The Colonel welcomed us and we enjoyed our stay at The Cavalry!

An excellent place to stay while visiting Udaipur. Close proximity to the old city. Hosts are welcoming and helpful. You get a nice homemade breakfast, and the rooms are spacious, especially with high ceilings. The bathroom is clean and spacious.

Everything about the property is par excellence- Location, accessibility, fantastic & well maintained Infrastructure, accommodation (large sized a/c room and spacious wash room), amenities & facilities provided, room service, cleanliness, awesome breakfast , personal care and attention by the owner and all staff etc are amazing. It was the most memorable stay. We were extremely happy and satisfied and strongly recommend this property to everyone.
