This location is one of the best locations we have been. What a beautiful house and what a beautiful hosts! Were had 3 course dinner at the house cooked with all fresh produce. While taking about the country, the past and the future. It was a great stay. I would give them a 1000!

Our host was there on arrival cleaning the house, we were a bit early but this wasn’t a problem. From the start very helpful. We did 2 hikes with bird watching, one was a beautiful hike to a waterfall….you need to do this! Also, during our stay it was my wife’s birthday and our host helped us out with finding a very good spot to have dinner (Campote), really good! And as a suprise my wife got flowers and a cake from our host. Just so sweet of her. And in the evenings we enjoyed the fireplace, perfect evening as a family to enjoy! Definitely a place we would visit again.

There’s a road close to the house, there’s traffic but not very disturbing.

#1 Marcela the host!!!! She went above and beyond to take care of us complete with taking our laundry into town to get it done FAST, took us to waterfalls, birding, and to the Friday night food stalls in town for great food from her friend, Millie (who owns Cascada La Escondida- a must visit).

The house was very spacious and the bed comfortable. The front garden was colourful and had quite a few hummingbirds in it.

The house was closer to the road than we anticipated but it was still a great location.

Sandra & Marcela receive a very rare 10/10 score from me. They offer a beautiful wooden home on the edge of the Amazon Forest, but so much more, the organic locally produced meals are the best I've had during my month in Ecuador. Most of all, is their huge welcoming smiles, and love for their home and their land. The location is remote, and you don't have modern conveniences within walking distance but believe me when I say that you won't care. Just be sure to accept their offer to cook for you... and take this time to step away from your busy life, and reconnect with nature. Do not miss out on the walk to the waterfall. Then go home and spread the word about everything you have learnt from them. I very rarely take the time to write reviews as I travel a lot, and it's time consuming. But in this case, it has been the best experience I had in my 25 years of travel.
