The house was clean. The beds were firm and great for a side sleeper such as myself. The location itself is great for driving into downtown Charleston or hopping over to Sullivan's Island.
Me and my family did notice an off odor that seemed to originate from the washer/dryer area found in the kitchen. I can only guess it's an issue with the front-loading washing machine.
The shower needs some attention; the diverter to switch the water from the faucet to the shower head was so leaky that the shower head worked, but it wasn't optimal. And the tub drains slowly, enough so that you're standing in water by the time you're done taking a shower.
Both of these are minor issues, and can easily be fixed. I did reach out to the host and he was prompt in sending back a reply and promising to fix the issues for future guests.
Overall, a nice place that's close to Charleston. I'd book this place again.

My sister’s and I stayed here for a sisters trip for a long weekend! We loved this VRBO. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bathroom had extra towels, and the beds were very comfy! This house isn’t far from the airport & was walking distance to a lot of good restaurants. We loved the little guest book previous guests had signed! Our only regret was we didn’t sign it.

We were so excited to stay in this charming house where the reviews were amazing and the location looked perfect. I advise you to not book this rental if you are not local. Our airline had delays and after all day in the airport the airline canceled our flight. I reached out to the owner to update and let him know our flight was canceled and to see what our options were. He had been unresponsive since the beginning even when I reached out before our trip started to inquire about a crib that was in the listing. The owner never responded and I had to reach out to VRBO and let them know the situation and that our second flight the next day was also canceled. They finally got ahold of the owner and he would not issue a refund or even half of a refund. What a nightmare and now we are out all of our money for the rental. Tells a lot about this owner. Look elsewhere I have never had an experience like this before!

Very nice 2 bedroom home in a nice location with close proximity (15min) drive to most local attractions. Downtown was amazing, visited several beaches, Magnolia Plantation, and the local restaurants that are within walking distance were great.
Thank you for sharing your home!

There are several breakfast, and dinner options in walking distance (and a brewery!). It is a very short drive to the historic section of Charleston, McLeod Plantation, and the Folly Beach area. It was delightful, and convenient.
If you are looking for a great walking tour, we recommend JWalk Tours with Jonathan Green.

My husband and I took our daughter to see the Charleston of Charleston and we took in all the sights! The house in West Ashley was the perfect central location and offered all the comforts of home. We were able to shop and prepare sone meals and snacks at the house which was a huge convenience and saved money, but we enjoyed the meals we had out in Charleston and at the beaches. Perfect trip!

This was our second time staying at this property; we love it so much. Very convenient to lots of restaurants and shops and only a short drive to Charleston. Very comfortable beds and enjoyed sitting on both the front and back porch. Lovely farmhouse vibe in a great, walkable neighborhood; we felt very safe.

This property was exactly as displayed in photos. My kids and I really enjoyed the house and it’s location. Fully stocked with everything I forgot to bring. Walking to the cafe in the morning for coffee and down the street to dinner was a great bonus. Unfortunately I had to cut our trip short and Collin was so understanding and made me feel as though all I needed to do was pack up. It took a load of stress off of me. I appreciated his kindness and generosity. I would recommend Collin and this property to anyone.

This was a new experience for us. We normally rent houses very close to the beach. We decided we wanted to try the East Coast this year instead of the Gulf and Charleston looked like it had a lot to offer. This house is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to everything! It has a ton of charm. It is an older home but has been updated with great appliances (loved the gas range!) and the wooden floors and arched doorways are beautiful. The beds are very soft! My son utilized the queen air mattress and slept very well. We saw lots of historic areas around the city (downtown Battery area and Market area are incredible) and spent a couple days on Folley Beach. Sullivan and Isle of Palms are not hard to get to either. Maybe a 20 to 25 minute drive depending on traffic. The Forts and USS Yorktown were intriguing as well and easy to get to from here. We did have one minor plumbing issue and the owner made sure it was fixed within 24 hours during a very busy week. He was very helpful and went out of his way to make it right. This is a beautiful older home (which actually adds to the charm of being in Charleston) and we fell in love with it and had one of the best vacations we have had in awhile. We would definitely rent here again.

We loved our stay in West Ashley. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Charleston and get a feel of a neighborhood. Did not take us long to get to downtown Charleston, not far from Middleton Place Plantation. Within walking distance of a coffee shop and restaurants. Home was fully kitted out with everything we needed, loved sitting outside on the back patio in the evenings. Would stay again!
