The cabin lived up to expectations. I could sit on the deck and watch the wildlife forever, loon, bald eagle, and much more. The minute you walk in it feels like home. The host is very responsive and helpful. The only thing to think twice about is the loft. It is challenging to access for anyone with mobility issues or small children though older children would think it awesome.

The location is absolutely perfect. The views are stunning. The cabin is secluded, but has all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. My husband and I first rented this cabin in 2002. We've dealt with 3 different owners. The latest owners have added a lot of amenities that have truly elevated the property. Dyer Long Pond is a beautiful place. It's gorgeous and quiet, yet within driving distance of lovely little towns.

Our stay was wonderful and most everything we expected. It would have been nice if the owner initiated more communication to make sure everything was okay, much like a waitress checks to make sure was as expected.

This cabin retreat is so peaceful! We had everything we needed and more. Very clean, and well kept. Dawn obviously takes pride in being a great host!! The pond was so beautiful with the fall colors beginning to break through and reflecting off the water!. The cabin is close enough to the coast to take a day trip and still enjoy time at "home". What a wonderful piece of heaven! Thank You!

The cabin was everything we hoped it would be. Gorgeous place, Dawn made us feel welcome and made everything easy for us. It was wonderful.

Welcoming, calming, renewing. Situated so that you immediately feel the privacy you seek. Access to water could not be any easier. Paddling lake is perfect size. Outdoor deck offers stunning view of trees & water as you sip drinks & make meals on the provided clean grill. Cabin is charming, sufficient. If you want to pull yourself away from this hideaway, a must do & see is Hidden Valley Nature Center about 3 miles from house. Trails are abundant & gorgeous. Lastly, the owners of this cabin are very responsive, a huge plus!

We were able to see quite a bit of wild life. We enjoyed the serenity of the pond and are planning on coming back. Dawn provided all the amenities that you could think of.

We had a spectacular experience here! Appreciated the open floor plan, along with the fine attached deck which allow for pond and opposite shoreline tree views constantly. We were fortunate to have warm, sunny weather, taking advantage of the kayaking, paddle-boarding, and swimming often. A bald eagle landed directly across from us which we observed till its flight away. Saw loons while kayaking. Took a scenic hike at Dodge Point Preserve in Newcastle. 3 nights not nearly enough time for all of the wonderful destinations in the area, especially when time spent on the premises, alone, is all that's really necessary to make you happy. Place was very clean. Kayaks were greatly appreciated. The eight year old loved the sleeping loft.

This is a beautiful peaceful cabin in a quiet location. The swimming was heavenly — I even swam with a pair of loons. Open floor plan was a challenge with four teens and several snorers (!) but that’s on me; the description of the property is very accurate. Dawn is super responsive and the property is impeccable. Perfect getaway for a couple or family with one or two kids.

If what you’re looking for is a chance to relax and enjoy the beauty and serenity of a beautiful Maine Lake, Dyer Long Pond is a great destination. We loved swimming, kayaking, birdwatching and just sitting and taking in the loveliness. Dawn is a fantastic host and looked out for our needs ( great communication!). Her lake camp is lovely and clean with all the amenities needed and a deck that looks out onto the lake. FYI The beds were also very comfortable which matters. We enjoyed every minute and would come back again.

We love staying at this charming and efficiently-appointed property. It's just perfect for our family of 3 and the location could not be more beautiful. Great fishing and swimming! Very clean cabin!

This is a great place to stay in a beautiful part of Maine! The pictures accurately depict both the cottage and the surrounding environment. The cottage was very well kept and had all of the necessary amenities. The owner responded to our communications quickly and we had no problems with the rental at all. Trip highlights: Our six-year old spent hours in the lake both in the water and sharing one of the kayaks. We were visited by loons, hummingbirds, and assorted other creatures. Nearby lake Damariscotta has a more traditional swimming area where our daughter had fun playing with other children. One caveat about the cottage that didn't affect us negatively, but might impact some: Two of the three beds are in a loft accessible by a ladder (accurately depicted in the pictures) that will be fine for most, but perhaps an issue for very young children or people with mobility issues. Overall, we'd 100% recommend this cottage for people looking for a Maine vacation getaway.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The camp was very clean, and had everything we needed. Great morning sun on the deck. Very quiet pond that was fun to paddle around. And a farm stand with fresh strawberries only a couple of miles up the road. Hosts were very responsive.

Beautiful and peaceful Want to come back someday

We wanted a place that was on the water, with a canoe and maybe a kayak, with fishing and a kitchen. It was all that and more -- there were two kayaks and also a paddle board! The kitchen was nicer than I expected and the loft area was perfect for two kids. The stairs to get up to the loft are a little steep, but there are hand rails on both sides so it was no problem for us at all. The cabin is pretty small but it doesn't feel that way because it has a good layout. The view of the lake is tremendous and kind of mesmerizing because you are situated up a little high but quite close to the water. The site is shaded by trees just the right amount - it wasn't too windy but there was enough of a breeze to keep any pesky bugs away. I would say anyone looking for a comfortable but not super huge or fancy cabin on the lake could not find a better place to stay. PS: I can also recommend the breakfast sandwiches (as well as groceries) at Jefferson Market and General Store, which is an 11 minute drive away.

Dawn’s property was just perfect for our needs after a hectic visit to a noisy DC. The small touches made the difference; portable sound system, cables, enough towels for a group of 4, first aid kit etc. I would highly recommend this property for anyone who wants to get away from it all with a lovely lake to enjoy!

Right on lovely, Long Dyer Pond. The cabin was clean and lovely. Pond is clean and has a sandy bottom, kids loved the floating lily pad. Just an fyi, ladder to loft is quite steep, would not recommend for kids under 6, but my kids 9-11 loved it.

This property is BEAUTIFUL! The cabin is cozy & well stocked. The lake is magnificent! With excellent fishing. Our host was awesome! Answered all our questions promptly before & during our trip.
