Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice quiet community. Sitting on the porch and seeing the ocean was wonderful. Older house, as described, but very clean and everything just as promised. Easy check in & out. Other reviews mention small showers. They are small but we’re average to large people and we were fine. And it’s true it would be nice if a bathroom connected to the master but hey, to get this close to the beach at a very reasonable price made this a small sacrifice. Would stay here again.

Beautiful beach, lovely low key place. The cottage is a short walk to the pier. My complaint isn’t with this rental but the booking process. I’d originally booked a condo but got a message that it was unavailable, so I booked another-billed for both;(. The condo guy refunded the cleaning fee but said I was too late to cancel. Probably won’t book with Vrbo again

I’ll start by saying that I hope they have plans to update/renovate in the near future because it would be well worth the money given the location. PROS: Location, Communication As someone had previously mentioned, this place is perfectly located in the heart of Kure Beach. You’re a VERY short walk away from public beach access, as well as the town center where they have a few restaurants, an arcade, bar, and 24H pier. Communication with the owner was very easy as well. They reached out prior to our stay with all the necessary information, and they were even able to accommodate our request for an early check in. We did not need reach out during our stay but I believe they would have been very responsive had we needed anything. CONS: Beds, showers While we did enjoy our stay, I would not recommend staying here longer than a weekend because unfortunately it’s not a very comfortable place to sleep and/or shower. Besides the king bed, which appeared to be memory foam, you can feel the springs in the other mattresses. My husband and I are in our early 30’s and we had the queen bed but did not sleep well the entire stay because the mattress is so uncomfortable. The showers have also been mentioned before, but they are SO TINY. For reference, I’m a mid-size 5’4 female and even I struggled with showering.

The location is perfect. Bathrooms are dreadful, extremely small at 5'7" the shower head was at forehead level. Shower stall so small couldn't rinse legs off as the water flow couldn't reach. Both bathrooms are side by side and nowhere near master. Furniture in living room is very old and uncomfortable and mattresses on all beds need to be replaced. None of us got a good night's sleep because of how uncomfortable we were. The bunk bed in one bedroom is unstable and shakes when a 70lb person climbs to the top. The whole vibe of the house and furniture is for people who don't plan to spend any time relaxing inside the house. It's uncomfortable and meant for a younger group not a family.

Stayed with my husband, brother in law, and sister in law. Wonderful location! Easy 2 minute walk to the public beach access. Also easy walk to kure pier and restaurants. Only negatives I have for this house is the kitchen could use some updates, the faucet is barely holding on, and the bathrooms are tiny. Could also use some new porch furniture.

Steep cleaning fee for you to have a list of to-dos
Steep cleaning fee for you to have a list of to-dos
So there's a steep cleaning fee (half of our two-night stay fee) that comes with this property, yet there's a list of all the things you have to do before leaving to avoid an additional fee (which I can't list dollar amount because VRBO flagged when I did describe it). - Wash and fold towels - Take trash to the curb - Wash, dry and put away dishes When we arrived, the note on the fridge stated bathroom towels were not provided, but luckily they were as this information was omitted from the listing. - The note also said laundry detergent was not provided, but we were required to wash and fold towels, but again luckily, there was a pod available. (Why am I paying a cleaning fee again??). - note also stressed rinsing sand off before entering home, yet the outdoor shower area was around the side of the house, with nothing to stand on and reasonably walk back on without having to step in the dirt, making it almost impossible to not track anything back onto the porch. - beds mattresses were incredibly hard and uncomfortable. - location is behind a motel and adjacent to another motel. - you share the outdoor picnic table with the family next door, who can also see everything you do outdoors. - gave 5 stars for communication with property manager, but never communicated with them.
