Situated in Los Feliz, this charming house for £432 per night is a great choice for your next break. California mid century home with pool and spa. Imagine staying is a private spa and world class art gallery. Spa services available for extra fees. Main house has four bedrooms with queen size beds, and 3.5 bathrooms. With that in mind I believe it is always a good idea to make sure my guests know what to expect when they book with us and understand the house rules. Here is some information about my listing that might be helpful. Please read entire listing and house rules: This is not a corporate rental. This is a private home. This might be a vacation rental for you. This is my home. I have lived here for 25 years. It is where I raised my children. I completed a complete renovation a few years ago. The house is designed to highlight two features: 1. The indoor-outdoor living experience. Everything about the design is to facilitate seamless movement between the inside space and the outside space. 2. Highlight the art. I've been collecting art from all over the world for over forty years. All the art is original. Most of it is one of a kind and irreplaceable. Every piece has a story. You might particularly enjoy the sculpture bridge highlighting Shona Stone sculptures from Zimbabwe, or the Liebadang corredor with several water colors and acrylics from France and Vietnam. There are oils, acrylics, water colors, large scale photographs, lithographs, and mixed media sculptures. RENTAL OPTIONS: The property has a main house and a guest house. I have three different listings for this property offering three different options: 1. Rent main house (That is this listing): When you rent this listing, you have the main house to yourself. The house can accommodate eight people (4 queen size beds). 2. Rent entire property, including main house and guest house: You get the entire property to yourself. 3. Interactions with host. Whenever possible, I personally check-in guests and provide an overview of the house and house rules. When I am in town, I live in a converted studio apartment in the garage. This is a good house with a great location. The outdoor space (with the pool and jacuzzi) is particularly fantastic. Great for getaways with friends and/or couples. The owner is very friendly and communication was solid throughout.

A true treasure in Los Feliz with a fantastic host!
Walking into this home we were blown away by the open floor plan that spills out into an oasis of a backyard. The walls were covered with remarkable artwork and the history of our gentlemanly host.
We can not recommend this VRBO enough! Great memories were had. It was perfect!

Phil was so accommodating and kind. He set up the place with great communication in advance and showed us his absolutely beautiful home. The pool and jacuzzi were awesome, heated well and the guest house was perfect for our large family.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. It had all the amenities we were looking for and then some. The decor of the home is what made us choose this place over others, and it was even better than the photos. The backyard and spa were relaxing and serene, although being November we didn't swim in the pool. My 16 year old daughter and I went for a 6 mile hike in Griffith Park, with the trailhead just yards from the house.
Most importantly, Phill was an excellent host and communicated well with us. Check in and out were seamless. I would definitely recommend!

Very cute place with interesting artwork. Love the hot tub and the dining set up. Lots of space. Good neighborhood and felt safe.

Fantastic house in a great location. The place had everything we needed to kick back and relax in the California sunshine. Phil was a fantastic host. We would absolutely recommend this place.

It's a nice property with some quirks. Phill is a very gracious host--but it is his house and he is around. Fortunately we liked Phill, so that was ok. He goes out of his way to provide a lot of food etc for the house. That really isn't what I am looking for in a rental, but some might appreciate that more than we did. The backyard and setting of the house is fantastic.

My friends and I were going to a festival in Pasadena and wanted somewhere comfortable to relax during the weekend; Phill’s home was perfect! We greatly enjoyed the hot tub and pool, and communication with Phill was prompt and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Pros:
Convenient location, close to freeway, observatory and grocery stores.
Direct Owner communication - Phil is very responsive and nice.
Lots of space for a big family.
Unique art
Linens are commercially laundered.
Pool and hot tub
Toiletries provided
Cons:
Owner occupied - meaning - lots of personal stuff everywhere - in closets, drawers, bathrooms
Kitchen is completely overloaded with personal items - including counter space, fridge and freezer was packed full.
Cleaning crew has to step up their game - bathrooms and kitchen, floors were dirty. We had to clean the kitchen upon arrival, wiping the fridge etc. We usually prefer to cook when we rent a house but ended up only cooking light breakfast for those reasons and eating out the rest of the time.
Parking in the evening is a problem. Owner left his car on the driveway leaving us with one parking spot. Street parking is not available in the evenings so we had to park far away every night.
We did not use pool or hot tub- you have to pay for heating separately and the pool needs a refresher as well.
Laundry room is very cluttered so we did not use it. But there is a very strange little room connected to laundry that had an undone bed and personal stuff in it - looked
like someone is sleeping in there. That made us a little uncomfortable.
African themed Art throughout the house is very unique and it is everywhere, I mean everywhere - toilets included. Kids were scared of it, some pieces are full sized human sculptures. If you have small children you would have to be very careful around the art and also would have to accompany them to the bathroom at night )))
There is a guest pool house on the backyard that is rented separately so keep in mind that if you don’t rent it - someone might be in it as well, and since the house itself is all glass - you would have no privacy.
Overall it is a very unique property with its own character, but needs some work and deep cleaning.

The house was in a fantastic neighborhood, though not in the middle of a lot of hot tourist spots, it was close to downtown and not far from anything in LA. Phil was very welcoming and it was such a delight to get a tour of his amazing art collection. The house had what you needed, side bar dining room was very convenient for tea, coffee, breakfast and more. The outside pool was a peaceful oasis for the adults, and a fun play area for the kids. Phil was very attentive to see that the jacuzzi was going and heated for us when we wanted to use it. He checked in often to see we had everything we needed. And was available via text for anytime we had questions. Upstairs sleeping area was great for adults. And a separate BR was shared by the 2 kids in their own BR. But futon in lower lever bedroom was not comfortable for my 70+ parents, could really have used an actual mattress there. Overall, it was one of the best places we have stayed in our travels and would book this beautiful home again if available. Would definitely recommend for someone who wants to stay in a quiet, residential part of LA but still close to everything. A retreat within the city. A nice escape for us with busy, hectic jobs. we loved it!

A reunion of three sisters and two of their husbands for an uncle's 90th birthday party lured us to L.A. for a long weekend. This home (and no doubt about it, this is a home--not simply a property set up to be a full-time rental), is welcoming, comfortable and clean. Staying here is like living in an art gallery, and was a particular delight for this graphic designer and my photographer brother-in-law, tho the art, photography and craft was appreciated by us all. Even after three days, I'd turn around and spot another artwork I'd somehow missed earlier. For what it's worth, I could not have relaxed if we'd had children in our group, for fear of something irreplaceable being damaged. The accommodations themselves are quite comfortable, and the listing description accurately portrays what you'll find. My only regret is that Phil was not in town to welcome us and provide a tour of the artworks. That said, he answered the phone or quickly returned a call the couple of times we had questions. We walked to a Trader Joe's about a mile away, and a trailhead into the hills of Griffith Park is a couple of blocks away. All in all, a lovely stay in a pleasant neighborhood in convenient location.
