Terrible unit that is a death trap

The Bumblebee is advertised as a "stylish, cozy house near downtown" and is described as a "One-Bedroom House". It is NOT a "one-bedroom house" - this is a complete misrepresentation. This is actually a small home that has been turned into three separate units - one upstairs, one on the ground floor and one in the basement. We got the basement. THE BASEMENT UNIT, IF THERE IS A FIRE, IS A DEATH TRAP. If there is a fire in the basement, anyone there will die. No-one will get out. I was a volunteer fire fighter in the CFA in Victoria, Australia, for 10 years - the basement unit is a death trap. Other issues: - rotting floor boards - low headroom, with obstructions hanging below the ceiling in a number of places (I hit my head twice while we were there - I am 5'11" 180cm) - I spent my time here hunched over when I walked around - the single bedroom is so cramped you must leave all your gear in the living area. - the double bed is up against the wall - so someone has to climb over the bed / other occupant to get to their position - the washing machine is dodgy and could only be started with difficulty - the dryer pumps considerable heat into the unit - in summer, this would be very hot - there is NO air conditioning and NO windows And the pièce de résistance: there was NO hot water. We had cold showers. There was not hot water in the kitchen to wash dishes. Overall, this would have to be the worst rental place I have ever see. I do not know what the rooms upstairs are like because I have not seen them. But I can say with absolute certainty that this basement is appalling. If you want to send your worst enemy somewhere - this place would be high on your list of considerations.

It was an affordable stay for concerts.

Location and price was great for visiting Cleveland for a couple concerts downtown.

Bathroom felt a little dirty; the shower was just used and hair was left behind. Upstairs tenant vacuumed at 8am on a Sunday. An alarm was going off at 9am in a locked area of the property, but the host was quick to fix this.

Comfortable, quiet home and neighborhood

Quiet neighborhood close to downtown. Uber rides quick and easy. House was clean and comfortable. Complimentary coffee was a nice touch! Owner was quick to respond to questions.

Not recommended even for price.

As advertised by booking.com the description and photos were and are very misleading. Never indicated unit was basement level with steep stairs (difficult for 70 year olds!). Pictures show a front door, impossible in a basement. Rooms were damp and musty with odd odor. Clean only on visible surfaces, otherwise not really clean. Broken up flooring. Bedroom very tiny with bed against one wall and narrow access on other side, again impossible for 70 year olds. Not ADA compliant by any means! Terrible!!

Lovely place in a quiet neighborhood.

It was very clean and convenient to all attractions. Check in and out were very easy. Loved the garage parking and quiet little neighborhood. Great experience!

Convenient location for all we had planned to do. Cozy place perfect for 2 people.

I didn't like the sump pump running 24/7. It was very noisy and we had to turn the TV way up to muffle the sound.

Overal was great for our needs as we were just there for a couple of days to watch some baseball

Owner was very responsive and helpful for all of our questions. Location was great. Instructions for self check in were good as well as for accessing the parking garage. Nice to sit out on the front porch at night and in the morning. Place seemed pretty clean but we really just used the bedroom and bathroom.

Nothing major - we did think the queen bed leaned a bit towards the middle

Great location near everything to do! The host was very kind and responsive!

There was no AC in our unit, which was a downside. The floors were a bit dirty and some bugs around the unit.

Lots of character and good location

The location was good. Central to places we visited in cleveland. Made good use of the washing machine and dryer. Kids enjoyed the cable service.

No A/C on the upper level. People from Texas love their A/C and it was a bit hard to fall asleep but later in the night it cooled down and was comforting then. The renters downstairs were quite loud and played loud music at times which aren't really kid appropriate. Could smell someone had smoked in the property when we got back after our day out. Floors are too squeaky for the age of the house I suppose. The toilet was a bit squished to the corner and tight for a big person like me.

Exceptional

The location was excellent. Very close to everything we wanted to do and the neighborhood was so quite. Also the house was homey.

The couch was a bit uncomfortable and it really could use a hand rail on the front steps

It was wholesome and we felt like home. We will stay again if we are in the area.

The proximity to downtown attraction is a plus. The host Mr. Fernandez, is very accommodating and respond promptly to any queries. He even allowed us to use the washer and dryer and when we can't find the toaster he rushed order one from Amazon.

It was the basement though, Mr Fernandez made it very appealing with recess lights, white paint and little touches to make it really cozy. The door that leads to basement was difficult to navigate coz it opens at a weird angle and it was a challenge to bring our luggage downstairs.

A cozy little place that we enjoyed

It was easily accessible. The ability to put the vehicle in the garage was a bonus not offered in most cases. The owner communicated very well and made the process simple.

It would have been nice to have another bathroom. The morning we left was a little chaotic trying to get everyone ready to leave. But, this is a minor thing for an overnight stay. if we had been there for a week, it would have proved more pressing.

Lots of potential but lots of problems.

the location was very convenient for everything we had planned.

The first I saw anything about a charge for room usage was upon arrival. The posting im Booking.com lists a whole house and the description talks about all the rooms. Beyond that, the fan in the bathroom not only didn’t function but was gross with dust. There were numerous hairs attached to the walls in the bathroom as well. In addition the ad talks about shampoo and soap included but the dispenser for them in the bathroom was completely empty. Also, the TV in the master wouldn’t even come on. The TV in the room with the queen wasn’t setup yet so it wasn’t able to be used.
