Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Easy check in process in very convenient location (just past turn off to the mountain). The unit completely renovated/updated with glorious heated floors and a brand new bathroom. It's literally steps to the mountain/lodge (basically one of the closest possible buildings and units). We would have loved the unit even more if: 1) there were hangers in the closets (management kindly dropped off hangers for us within an hour of my calling, but the owner does not have any hangers!) and 2) a place to store skis. There was also no fireplace instructions and so we never figured out how to turn on the gas fireplace. However, it was overall a good experience with Best of Canaan and the comfort of the renovated unit and we'd rent it again (but please add a couple of dozen hangers!!).

I would say this unit is perfect if you are coming for day or two, spending all your time skiing. The negatives: the noise from the above unit is awful. Kitchen is super tiny and not really equipped for cooking. You need more plates, a cutting board, a better toaster, a crockpot, more dishes if you want to market this for families. The dining area is not existing as the table is way too big. There is also no space to put ski equipment, no hooks, no baskets. Closets have not hangers.

The noise from the unit above and the steps outside was deafening at times. The ceiling seemed paper thin and you could hear every footstep. Anytime anyone would come down the steps outside from the units above, it sounded like they were coming through the wall. We really liked the unit and the location, but would not stay there again.

There was a problem with the gas fireplace and main tv but they sent someone right away and got it fixed for us.
