About this house rental
Our Airbnb is 2 blocks away from the best of Clear Lake – the beach, parks, Main St., restaurants & shopping! It’s the perfect balance of new-meets-classic. Built in 1900, it has its beautiful, original character – century-old wood, 10-foot ceilings & a unique architectural blueprint that doesn’t exists in modern builds. However, in 2021, it got a modern overhaul consisting of a totally renovated kitchen, bathrooms, HVAC & electric. It’s a modern home wrapped in a classical, 1900’s-style shell.

Overall, our experience was a good one. There was a minor check-in glitch which was quickly handled by the owner.
Small benches in each bedroom for luggage would have been helpful.
The house had everything we needed for our stay. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Great location in Clear Lake. Walking distance to downtown, lake, park, dining, shopping and market. Updated and well stocked kitchen. Clean modern bathrooms. Beds and bedding was comfortable.

This house is ideally located to all Clear Lake has to offer. Just a short 3 block to both Main Street and to the lake. Older home charm fully and tastefully modernized. Owners were very responsive and accomodating. Highly enjoyed and recommended. Bonus features: record player with Buddy Holly and other great music; front porch rocking chairs perfect for early morning coffee; and friendly neighbors.

Nicest, cleanest place I’ve ever stayed at in Clear Lake! Been to Clear Lake at least a dozen times and I’ve never been happier! Walked downtown every day. Relaxed and listened to vinyl every evening!

We used this property for a girls weekend! We did an event at the surf, walked around main for shopping and at at a lot of local places. This house was great great size, perfect location and walking distance when the weather allowed. The house was clean, supplied everything we needed and was well stocked. Even though the house is older with lot of character (love that) things were also updated and easy to use like thermostat and Bluetooth speaker! A great stay!

This was our fourth VRBO in Clear Lake and by far our favorite! The house is the perfect combination of old-home character and contemporary vibe. The kitchen is gorgeous and supplied with everything we needed. The beds were very comfy and there is PLENTY of room for a family to spread-out here! We VRBO frequently (and have stayed in some where the hand soap was diluted and some where there are only one spare roll of toilet paper), HOWEVER this house was by far the best stocked, from detergent to hand soap! All plentiful and quality items at that. This house is in the perfect location for all things Clear Lake, a simple walk to downtown or the Surf. The hosts were fabulous and easy to communicate with. We loved our stay and hope to return again soon!

The house was easy to spread out in and we loved having a gas grill and fire pit so we could enjoy the beautiful fall weather. The eating area adjacent to the kitchen was also perfect for socializing. The kitchen was extremely well furnished. All bedrooms are on the second floor, so this is probably not be a suitable place for most elderly adults to stay, but the bathroom on the main floor does make it possible for them to visit. Most people in our group found the chairs and living room furniture to be uncomfortable.

Enjoyed our stay! Beds were comfortable! Kitchen & bathrooms were very nice! Great location! The TV was mounted on the wall but furniture wasn't as comfortable as we would have liked when watching for any length of time. Host promptly answered any questions we had.

The house was absolutely beautiful and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Location was perfect - walking distance to downtown area and city beach. The house was fully stocked with anything you might need. High quality kitchen essentials, super comfy beds and extra blankets/towels.

We loved staying at this house. The house is beautifully decorated and has a lot of character and charm. Our kids loved the secret kid room, cool checkers board, games/puzzles, and fun kid placemats and plates. The record player was fun to play, the beds were super comfy, and the location is wonderful for walking downtown to the shops, restaurants and park/beach. There were plenty of towels, sheets, and blankets, and overall lots of attention to detail. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we already booked for next year!

Perfect location to see over 400 classic cars. 5 minute walk to downtown or city park and to the Iowa Garden. Quiet location. House was as described on VRBO and had mostly everything we needed. Great first floor and a very user friendly kitchen. Could use another trash receptacle as ours overflowed during our 4 day stay. Good rental

We stayed with family ages 8-78. Clear Lake was a blast.
The house had everything we needed and was as described/pictured.
Rented a pontoon and browsed/shopped in Clear Lake. Got a great pair of running shoes at Skip’s Kicks and had great pizza at The Other Place. Great vacation.

Awesome weekend
LOVED our time at this home. The remodeling is amazing and the furnishings are high quality. We have stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this is definitely the nicest. They even had puzzles/toys/lake toys for our Littles. It gave us great family time and memories! Enjoyed the fire pit too. So relaxing.

Fabulous find!
We thoroughly enjoyed this fun and historic home in Clear Lake. The owners have decorated and furnished this home with the utmost in taste. The home has incredibly comfortable beds and linens. The kitchen is beautiful and fully equipped with every detail and supplies that you need. The extra touches such as beach towels, toys and games are fantastic. Location is awesome as well. We highly recommend this fabulous home!

Great house in a great location!
We spent 4 nights in this house and loved it! It’s an old house with a recent remodel that has a great blend of modern and classic. Very clean, comfortable beds, and hot showers. Julia was great to communicate with, very clear information, and everything in the house as promised. The house has a lot of living space with a good sized main floor and comfortable furniture.
The home is in a nice neighborhood—safe and quiet, and with a great location. Only a couple of blocks to downtown, the lake, Surf Ballroom, etc. Easy to get to and plenty of parking available.
We will very likely rent this house again—
