We enjoyed staying here the night before our cruise. House was plentiful and enough of room for everyone. Location was perfect the only downside to this is we weren’t there long enough to enjoy the pool and surrounding area.

It was a nice place with a lot of cool things inside that was great for the kids. Only issues we had was the propane on the back deck for the fire pit was out and we wanted to hangout around it. The beds were also a bit to hard for our personal preference the couch was super soft and very comfortable on both levels. It's a short walk to the ocean and the neighborhood was quiet. If you are traveling with a big group and need a place to stay I'd highly recommend.

The property had plenty of room for all guests. We really enjoyed our trip. We were so close to the beach definitely walking distance. My only negative would be we had a large group with small children so it would have been good to have access to a good broom and dustpan or small vacuum to clean up behind them. Other than that small thing we would definitely stay there again!

We are a large family (17) that came down from Houston to enjoy Dickens on the strand. We had great time! Boise was big enough to accommodate all of and spread out. Parking was great!

I had the pleasure of staying at Russell’s property, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The listing accurately represented the property, with no unwelcome surprises. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness and comfort that welcomed me, setting a restful tone for my entire stay.
One of the standout features was the property's backyard, complete with a pool. It's a wonderful spot that I'm sure would be perfect for a summer dip—I look forward to returning during warmer weather to enjoy it fully. Additionally, the location is superb, nestled close to the beach for easy access to seaside activities, and conveniently near a Walmart for any quick shopping needs.
Though the property didn't boast out-of-the-ordinary amenities, it did have a charming gaming area that added a fun edge to the evenings. Russell’s responsiveness as a host was also noteworthy; his quick communication made everything run smoothly.
Throughout my stay, I encountered no issues, which speaks volumes about Russell’s attentiveness to his guests. The proximity to both the beach and essential stores like Walmart added layers of convenience to my stay. I wholeheartedly recommend Russell’s property for a comfortable and convenient beach getaway, and I'm already contemplating a return visit—especially to enjoy that alluring pool in the summer!

It was my 50th spent with my children, grandchildren, best friend & cousin . I spent every summer on the island as a kid with family so it's home to me. Check in was easy the house was amazing. The cleaning could have been better but we expected to clean to our own standard. There was also a leak in one of the upstairs bathroom but even with all that we loved the house it had so much space for everyone to sleep & move around comfortably we had 10 adults & 3 children. A great kitchen for cooking. My cousin & my friend loved the pool. We were located near everything food,stores & gas & 2 blocks from the seawall & 10 minutes away from my family it was an awesome 2 days. We would definitely do it again right there. Bring fly spray.

We enjoyed our time, but there were some inconveniences. Upon arrival we realized the pictures online were misleading. There is only one bathroom for three bedrooms downstairs. While each bedroom upstairs has a bathroom, one was marked as the shower leaking to the kitchen and your knees touch the wall from the toilet. The banisters are NOT kid safe; likely too wide for code. The half bath is actually outside for the pool. The fire pit is broken. Things not clean-dried roaches and contacts on floor. More dust than can be described-under the beds, coating the downstairs air return (which we cleaned), and blown onto the ceiling in the living room. The kitchen is not stocked for cooking-two giant stock pots, a few small pots and a 2 egg skillet. Nothing really suitable for cooking for the 20+ people the house advertises it sleeps. The decking around the pool and back patio need to be repaired-boards not attached, screws sticking out around the pool, the gap between pool edge and decking is close to 6" in some places. While doing dishes the first night, the sink drain sprang a leak all over the floor. The fastener was tightened and checked the following afternoon by maintenance. When we called the 1st time around 5pm, the phone rang and never went to voicemail. We called again and were able to leave a voicemail, which was returned quickly. The beds need to be checked for loose screws. Bedding and towels were good. Read guide before arrival. Everyone we spoke to was pleasant!

Property could be nice but it is suffering from lack of upkeep. We had two items that had to be addressed during our stay (AC not cooling and smoke alarm without a battery). We gave the owner a list of 20+ items that need to be addressed.
Bring your own skillet; the only one we found was 6" and it had seen too many trips through the dishwasher. The refrigerator icemaker and coffee maker did not operate properly.

A hidden gem! Being so close to the beach was nice, and the pool was awesome too! It's pretty rare to find a house that close to the beach that also has a pool. Really really loved our time here!

Loved that we could walk to the sea wall from the house. Super convenient beach access, and the home was stocked with toilet paper, laundry soap, dish soap, etc. We had a bad experience with a different owner on Vrbo before, but Russel was awesome and super accommodating. We'll be back!

Plenty of room but was not cleaned properly at all and a few maintenance issues. If you have small kids the stairs have no safety gates also no gate for the pool so keep that in mind. Did not like that lawn people came and our cars were at risk of flying objects with no warning. There was plenty of room for my large family but the cleanliness was disappointing

I booked this house because we had 6 adults and 4 children. We enjoyed the location a lot. The mattresses were great! It is advertised as a 7 bedroom house. One bedroom is actually a converted closet with 2 doors and no windows. The furniture seemed new. With 10 people there were only 6 chairs at the table and 3 chairs at the breakfast bar. I was disappointed that there was no mention that the pool was not heated. We stayed for 3 nights in March, knowing that the weather might be cooler and if the pool was heated, the kids could still enjoy a swim. Unfortunately the pool was quite cold. I probably would have looked elsewhere if I had known. Also, while the unit was very nice it was quite dirty. They need a new cleaning service.

Description leaves out a few things. Only the master bedroom has a dresser, and only one other bedroom has access to a closet. So basically, you're living out of your suitcase thats on the floor.
One of the bathrooms is actually outside, which is ok - except you have four bedrooms downstairs sharing one bathroom (unless one shares with the master bath). One of the bathrooms upstairs was likely a closet. Very "skinny". Maybe three feet wide. The "bunkbed" bedroom downstairs was also likely a closet. It is Very small with no room for luggage.
Backyard: Deck is partial maintenance free boards and rotting green treated boards. Grill was old and filthy. Pool was nice (an umbrella or even a small table at the pool could provide upgrade.) A minimal attempt was made to provide a pool "tool" for use to clean out various leaves, bugs etc --- however, the pole and the net do not connect and was not fixed or new tool provided after being brought to Management's attention on day 1.
Washing machine is OLD and does not fully spin/drain. This was confirmed by maintenance that came the next day - but was not fixed.
Master Bathroom tub was clogged - this was fixed the next day by maintenance. Except for the drain, the Manager's response to concerns was basically that the information would be shared with the homeowner.
Kitchen and Living spaces were good.
Weather was nice and location was ok. Definitely could have been better and certainly could have been worse, but definitely underwhelmed by the accommodations/property, given the lack of accuracy regarding detail and description.

This house was perfect for our group with plenty of beds, open space inside and outside, and very clean. Our teens enjoyed the gameroom with foosball and arcade games and also the outdoor pool even though it was February. There was lots of room without feeling cramped. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and eating essentials. I appreciated the supplied coffee and filters also.
It is a short walk to the beach but you do have to cross 2 busy streets to get there. We had an excellent stay and would definitely book again.

Great property! The home was clean and spacious! Our family usually have a hard time locating places to stay that will accommodate our size but this home was perfect. Everyone was able to have their own room and even when we were all in the common room together, we did not feel cramped or that we were on top of each other. There was enough seating for everyone, plenty of space for parking and we had an overall great time. Would definitely book again if in the Galveston area!

We rented this property to enjoy a Thanksgiving weekend at the Gulf. In spite of the rain, we had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and welcoming. We will stay at the BeachBox again!

This is the perfect beach house with an amazing pool and so close proximity to the beach. The owner was prompt with instructions for check in and check out. The house was so clean with such clean linens and clean towel. It was beautifully furnished an decorated with a full kitchen - appliances etc. We were a group of women (friends and family) and had a great time! House is so spacious with so many bedrooms and bathrooms. The pool was so clean and well maintained. We had an amazing time using the pool. Overall we had an excellent stay and would definitely rent this house again!

We had a multigenerational family vacation including my parents who are in their late 70s, and my brothers and sisters and myself with our families that range from parents in the 40s and 50s to young adults, teens, and children as young a 6. This house was perfect. It’s set up with 2 bedrooms upstairs with multiple beds in each and 2 bathrooms up there, and a game room with foseball and arcade games and a big screen tv with a sofa upstairs. Perfect for the young adults and teens to hang out all night until whatever hours while the others sleep downstairs. It has a larger sized living room and kitchen table on the main floor and a well equipped open kitchen with ample counter space we used for serving the food. There is also a nice fire pit table in the deck and another full table outside (and a bathroom outside) for more space.
The beach is a couple of blocks away and Schlitterbahn water park is about 2 miles away and that was all our kids wanted to do!
We rented golf carts which were perfect for going back and forth to the beach and to shuttle kids back and forth from the water park. The house has an outside garden hose to get all the sand off so it doesn’t get all over the house. You have to cross two roads that have a decent amount of traffic so for the really young and really old, a golf cart or car is a better but it is definitely close enough to easily walk.
The house is located in a quiet neighborhood and there is a nice gas station at the end of the street (half a block) that was easy access for snacks, ice, sodas, and beer. It is quick and easy to get to the historic area to shop and play. Also, Walmart is a 2 minute drive and there are a lot of really good places to get take out close by including several donut shops, a great BBQ place and we had some awesome Mexican food that was available family style catering on short notice.
This house is laid out and located perfectly for large groups. Will definitely stay here again!

They sent a pool guy out but the pump wasn’t working normally so it just couldn’t ever filter the green crap out. Several big trash bins outside were full of trash and maggots, which was the source of so many flies that you couldn’t sit outside. The house sleeps many people so in order to cook for many people you have to have adequate cooking pans, paper goods, etc. but we had to go buy more so that we could cook. For the price of this place there are much better places out there. Don’t stay here.
