Location was great, but I’ll never stay there again.
Has issue with the pool, Wi-Fi, TV, A/C, linens, window shutters and coffee maker.
Please visit my review that I sent to the property management and consider removing them from your listing.

Party of 11 aged infant-40s. Plenty big enough and lots of sleeping options. The pool was a life saver on the hot humid days. BUT the master bath toilet handle did not work. Had to pull rusted inside valve to flush. Vent in both kitchen and dining room leaked water randomly. Slippery floors with young kids. Only one hand towel in the kitchen. Less than one roll of paper towels. Did not have 8 chairs as advertised. Two of the chairs had one leg each that was falling off. Safety hazard.

My family loved the house; nothing at all to complaint about. Definitely going to visit again soon!! None of us wanted to leave the property.

The pictures of the house are out dated, there was mold in the downstairs bathroom, that made a few of us sick. There was very limited items to use for cooking and what they did have was dollar store cheap and super thin, had to cook with. Electric can opener didn’t work. No kitchen towels, only had 11 bath towels for 12 people. Not enough room for everyone to eat meals together. Table only had 4 chair and one was broken.
Called about the kitchen leaking when the shower was on upstairs, then read another review that someone else complained about the same thing. WiFi was crap, didn’t work in most of the house. Pool guys just showed up, and kids was outside didn’t know they was coming. When we got there on Saturday the pool was nasty, floor wasn’t cleaned at all.
There was nice outdoor lights but didn’t work. Table on patio was rusted and cut three people ripped two sets of clothing.
Room door didn’t shut and lock, little to no privacy. Not one rug or extra towels for bathrooms for showing.
Beds in 3 of the rooms was old and hard.
The pool is nice but very very small about 5 of us to use it at a time not all 12.
Check in was easy and ready on time. But wasn’t clean, laundry room was in the half bath so made it hard to be able to do any laundry, mold inside washer.
AC was cold. Not worth the money we paid.

The images used in the post are misleading the house does not look anything like the pictures, those were taken maybe years ago. The first problem was that the key was not in the designated lock box and we had to wait outside 45 minutes for someone to come and drop them off. The house was not clean at all, the coffee machine had an old filter with coffee in it, the bbq was gross and full of ash and old scraps of food, the kitchen sink reeked of fish, and the bathrooms were crusty and needed cleaning. The maintenance problems inside included: loose old door knobs that made the doors impossible to open and close, there’s no locking doors because they don’t work, the steps to the king bedroom are a safety hazard, the plants outside are overgrown and need maintenance. Wouldn’t recommend wasting your time on this outdated rental.

They were not ready for us
They were late in getting us in, we arrived to a mess in the yard from the landscapers, the house was filthy. The location is great, a short walk to the beach. The home is nice, but some things did not work, like upstairs TV. There was a water leak from the up stairs into the kitchen. Would not recommend for the price.

Pool was not functioning and filthy upon arrival. AC was not working properly. Couldn’t use pool first 24 hours until repaired. AC was fixed next day. First 24 hours were not fun. Got better after property management engaged.

Overall, the home met our needs. We were safe and had enough space for the six of us. The kids loved the pool, and the permanently-installed canopy cover over the pool was an improvement to the red umbrellas seen on the listing. We knew the location was directly on Broadway but chose the property anyway because we like Galveston’s east side and this property is only 0.6 mile walk to Stewart beach.
On the negative side, one star was taken off due to lack of communication with both the property manager and the owner. The property manager makes you register your vehicles but they don’t support when other vehicles are parked in the spots for the property or block you in, which happened to us every day of our stay. We tried calling the property manager but they said it was our responsibility to call and pay for a tow truck if we wanted. Also, Texas DOT was resurfacing Broadway during our stay and blocking lanes directly in front of the property. This would have been nice to know ahead of time, as it prevented our ability to access the driveway parking spot in front the home at times during our stay. Further, the homeowner sent lawn and pool services during our stay but did not warn us. At one point we saw people in the back yard and didn’t know who they were and considered calling 911. The other star taken off was due to lack of pest control. We have two small children and a dog with us and the bugs were over the top – and I’m a native Texan, y’all. There is a small dumpster near the parking for the unit and when you open/close the back door to the back patio, flies and gnats and other types of flying bugs race into the house. Trash pickup is only once a week (Tuesday) and so when the trash piles up, so do the flies and gnats. Just for info: all bedrooms are upstairs. The outside deck pictured is on top of the garage. There is a half bath in the laundry (not pictured in listing). Unfortunately, this toilet often didn’t flush properly. Since the property manager doesn’t respond quickly (or at all), we chose not to use the half bath toilet after the first flush didn’t work properly. When you come up to the back door, there is often a smell of urine and I suspect this is due to that half bath not functioning properly. On the positive side, the laundry was great and often we used the dryer to dry beach towels or bathing suits to re-wear later in the day. The two baths upstairs had hot water on demand and the home had charm with nice decor.

The house was amidst all the many homes that still have the older Victorian feel to them, but with current updates. Loved the sitting area outside by the pool (which was cute and refreshing). Close to the ferry and UTMB. I would not recommend parking in front of the house, but pull in tight next to one another on the driveway. The house is right off Broadway; thus, the need to park in the driveway. Great little beach getaway with plenty of room for a group.

Great House!
We had an amazing stay at this home. The house was clean, charming and well equipped. Staying at numerous vacation homes we have come across several that have the bare essentials. This home had just about everything. The pool is a bit small but accommodated 6-7 of us at a time. The location gave us easy access to the beach and we were able to walk. This home has charm and we will definitely stay here again!!

NOT a Safe house
Both showers leaked so bad they could barely be used. We seriously had to take a 2 minute or less shower because the water would pour out of the can light in the ceiling below onto the tile kitchen floor. My two year old son almost slipped in the water the first time someone took a shower because we didn’t realize there was water all over the floor. This was a major safely issue. This was happening in both showers. The batteries in the smoke alarms and remotes were dead. The alarm on the doors would beep all night long. I called and left messages with management during our 5 days and never got a return call, email or anything. The house itself was cute and the pool was small but fine, it’s too bad though because it’s just not a safe house to stay in. I will never stay at a house under Ryson management again.
