About this house rental
Located in Poipu, this lovely house for £964 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Our Big Kahuna is a 3650-square-foot, four-bathroom, five-bedroom residence that can accommodate up to fourteen guests using aero (inflatable) mattresses. This two-story residence merges our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit upstairs (Airbnb #20859308) and our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit downstairs (Airbnb #20978658), which are each 2300 square feet. Each is equipped with an individual entrance. Elevators and descendants may utilize either the spiral stairs located within or the front exterior stairs. We're conveniently located in the heart of the Poipu Beach area. This is a resort area with many restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping located in a 1 mile radius. Poipu Beach is consistently voted as one of the best beaches in the U.S and has sections for snorkeling, boogie boarding, beginner and intermediate surfing. In addition, we provide parking that is not on the street, high-speed Internet access, beach chairs, beach towels, and coolers, as well as the use of a laundry room that comes stocked with multiple machines, detergent and dryer sheets. The pool that is pictured belongs to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club which is a 2 minute drive or a 10-15 minute walk away. Access may be available for an additional cost. Please inquire for details. The Big Kahuna is a two story home with an amazing ocean view of Poipu Beach. The bedrooms upstairs and downstairs are connected by an internal staircase and each have a separate entrance. The home is fully air conditioned for comfort and privacy. Berber carpeting in bedrooms. The entire residence has Oak and LVP hardwood flooring. The 8 ft sliding glass doors in two directions provide excellent cross ventilation. Granite counters are in both kitchens and all baths. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a queen canopy bed with pillow top mattress and Egyptian cotton linens, plus a private covered lanai with seating for 2. The master bath has a deep soak tub with two shower heads and double sinks. The 2nd bedroom has a queen sleigh bed with a pillow top mattress. The second bath has a deep soak tub and shower plus double sinks. The third bedroom has twin beds. Downstairs, the master bedroom has a queen bed and a slider to the outside covered lanai. The master bath has a large jacuzzi tub and double sinks. In the property are 2 large full kitchens with double door refrigerators, ceramic top stoves with ovens, full sets of pots and pans, dishes, glasses and silverware. Sleeping Arrangements Bedroom 1 – Queen Bed (upstairs) Bedroom 2 – Queen Bed (upstairs) Bedroom 3 – 2 Twin/Single Beds (upstairs) Bedroom 4 – Queen Bed (downstairs) Bedroom 5 – 2 Twin/Single Beds (downstairs) Others: 2 aero beds available upon request 2 covered lanais (patios) each have outdoor dining tables for 6 and BBQ grill. 50 in TVs in upstairs and downstairs living rooms and TVs in all 5 bedrooms. The house, both upstairs and downstairs units combined, was perfect for our family group of 9. The house and both kitchens were well stocked and the location was perfect- very close (but not too close) to poipu beach, Brennekes etc. If anything the online description understates the ocean view.

The duplex accommodation filled all of our needs. The location was great. Dan was incredibly responsive to our needs and easy to communicate with.
The only reason I gave it a 4 for cleanliness is that the wood floor could have been a bit cleaner, and there was normal wear and tear from a rental property.
The location and space made up for it all, nd the beds were incredibly comfortable.
We had 13 people in our group and enough privacy for all.

Our family of 12 people really enjoyed our stay at this property. We rented both the top and bottom units. There is a nice view of the ocean from the top floor porch and the spacious living area on the top floor was a great place for the family to congregate.
It is a very short walk to the closest beach (2-3 minutes) and 10 minutes to Poipu Beach. The property manager, Dan, and the management team were very responsive to our requests. We recommend using the optional Poipu Beach club for children (pool) and adults (workout facilities).
We highly recommend staying at this property and the island of Kauai.

This property was set up perfectly for our extended family to all be together while still having our own spaces. The location was great - a quick walk 10 minute walk to Poipu Beach and a 15 minute walk to the Grand Hyatt. They were multiple boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels and coolers for our beach trips. The property manager Dan was extremely responsive when we had a small issue the first day. We’ll definitely stay here again.

The location was absolutely amazing! There were 10 of us and we had plenty of space and beds and baths. A few items could have been better as far as light bulbs out, supplies all filled, fans working, BUT we would stay here again, the beds were comfortable, the space accomodated all our people and the views and location cannot be beat!

Everything in the description was easy to follow. The house is spacious and the kitchen is well appointed. They even go the extra mile to provide beach chairs & towels, umbrella, a mask, cooler, etc. Would stay here again when I come to Kauai.

We booked this rental for five nights for our family of 8 adults and 2 young kids for our wedding. We checked in late at night and went to bed right away, it wasn't until the next morning that we noticed there is a huge orange urine/blood stain on one of white sheet in bed. We were absolutely disgusted and contacted the property manager right away. I told them I want ALL the sheets and linen to be changed in the house, because I don't trust that they cleaned and changed everything. There is no way they changed everything and missed one, most likely nothing was changed. They did apologize but refused to change all the sheets but that one. I told them I took photos and will post a review reflecting my stay, and the property manager DAN responded on the phone, awesome. Yes he said AWESOME! Imagine my shock, I am totally disgusted by their professionalism and indifference. We end up washing all the sheets ourselves, we did a total of 5 loads of laundry, two nights before my wedding, wasted half a day on our family vacation. Later SRI from their office reached out and offer us the free use of the gym. NO THANK YOU! I think I will not use the gym on my vacation in Hawaii, what an useless offer. I requested a minimum refund for the Cleaning Fee they charged, and additional refund for our troubles. They ignored my message and never responded every again. Aside from how dirty the house is, not just the unwashed line, the whole entire house is covered in dust. The floor is extremely dirty. I took photos but unfortunately there is no option to attach it to the review. On our day of arrival, they told us we have to check out early because they have a "termite inspection scheduled". How is that our problem? We did end up checking out early because we are actual decent people. The management company are a nightmare to deal, they simply don't care about what they do and offer. Avoid them at all cost!!!

This property was the perfect fit for our Family Vacation. My husband and I travelled with our 2 adult children, their spouses and our 10 month old granddaughter. We have stayed in Kauai many times and this property was wonderful. Short walk to the beach, great location, the property is very well taken care of, a washer and dryer and the patio on the top deck offers great views of the ocean. The additional bonus was Dan, the property manager. We have rented many VRBO properties over the years and by far, Dan is a complete standout. His kind personality, always happy to help and a great resource for questions about a Catamaran trip we wanted to book. The list goes on and on. Dan, you have completely spoiled us and other property managers are going to have big shoes to fill after our wonderful experience with you. Thank you for everything, we will definitely be back!

This home surpassed our expectations. Very nice amenities and lots of room. The views were unbeatable, you could see the ocean and the waves breaking. A short walk to the beach to see tons of turtles and a few seals. We will be back!

Great time, very nice property
There was 11 of us, and we had enough room to spread out. Our kids ages 13-24 were downstairs and us older folks were upstairs. The kids could walk to the beach when they wanted. My only complaint would be that the Beach Club was not in walking distance like it sounded on the brochure. But we had a good time there too.

This property worked well for the 11 of us. It was a short walk to the beach. We chose to drive to the pool as it was a little longer walk but doable if you prefer walking.
There were a few minor issues but they were addressed quickly by the property manager.
Kauai is truly a very special place and we were very glad we visited. We would stay here again.

Very Nice Poipu Beach Stay
We had 6 adults and 2 children stay in the house. The home was very spacious and the two levels provided welcomed privacy for the members of our family. The provided beach chairs and cooler for our use were a nice touch and came in handy. We were a bit surprised to see that the master bedroom on the upper floor did not have full height walls and had sliding shoji-style doors rather than a typical latching swing door. So privacy from the living room into the master bedroom was lacking. But the proximity of the house to Poipu Beach was quite nice. We enjoyed our stay very much and felt the house worked well for our family.

The landscaping around the unit is lovely and it is just a short, easy walk to several beaches that can accommodate different levels of water skills (from beginner to moderate, that is). The kitchens in the two interconnected units were both very well stocked with plates, cutlery, and cooking utensils and the layout was typically Hawaiian "open plan" for the central areas, making mingling easy. We only had a few minor issues and they were all quickly & professionally dealt with by the manager, so overall, no complaints. Highly recommended!
