Charming and older well-maintained home but still very comfortable and you cannot beat the location and price. Perfect for family and group reunions. **Please note that guests must bring their own bed and bath linens. Each bed is outfitted with a mattress pad, bedspread, and pillows. The large front screened porch is perfect for gatherings and dining in the open fresh air. There is even a screened porch in the back off the kitchen. There are tennis courts at the end of the street and a tot lot nearby. Parking for two cards in the driveway and street parking permits for two additional cars. Wi-Fi and full cable TV. Outdoor shower. Note: If you are looking for an original 1940's beach cottage, three houses back from the best beach in Rehoboth, this is it. We had a lovely time in this spacious older cottage. This is not for people expecting a modern place, it’s rustic, a little musty & not quite right in spots and that suited us just fine. A tiny walk to the beach with large bedrooms, wonderful front porch and sufficient inside family space. The property is aging and needs lots of repairs, but it was as expected per reviews and pricing. We had a wonderful time there.

I read prior renter reviews believing (optimistically or foolishly) that they were picky consumers who expected perfection; I was wrong. the HVAC is noisy and doesn't cool the 2nd fl. The lamps (purchased at yard sales) are broken, the electric sockets don't work. the paint is peeling inside and falling down. the dryer doesn't shut off. Ceiling fans don't work. the outdoor shower is disgusting- old wood with bugs and yard debris, and the indoor baths are skeevy. the bugs, ants, silver fish and spiders are relentless. the rear porch has broken screens and the front porch has a dining table that is TOO big for the space ...we had to crawl over stools to get around. the dishwasher rollers are missing. Basic cooking tools are absent- seriously no broiler pan to cook bacon. Sashes are stuck open. letting in humid air The Pines is more frat house than cottage. All kidding (not) aside I had my family down and I was embarrassed. Don't assume that a high price guarantees quality.

We really did enjoy 8 Henlopen. The house is a classic, but we loved it. Two screened-in porches with fans r comfy. The wood floors are old-school thin planks and creaky but make the house, the stairs and second floor are a beach white. 2nd floor bedroom carpets in great shape. All the beds are super comfy. The bathrooms r clean and have been somewhat updated, water pressure is great. Kitchen works fine, nothing fancy. Lots of fun lamps, cool shelving and art work add a touch of high-end to this classic beach house. Would rent again.

The home is spacious and the property manager is responsive. The directions to access the home and the description were pretty accurate. Everyone was friendly and it was a nice place to take a walk or bike ride. The location is convenient to the beach, boardwalk, restaurants etc. I found out that the parking pass can also be used for free parking at the beach lot. I wish I would’ve known that earlier in the week. My guess is that it just an investment property and not someone’s actual vacation home. If it were my home, I would pay more careful attention to the condition. It could be such a beautiful home! There were ants on the counters and we found them in our things. Paint peeling from the ceiling, multiple doorknobs and blinds broken. The area rugs were so worn they don’t stick to the underpad anymore causing a tripping hazard. The air conditioning unit is loud and causes the house the shake. The yard is neglected. The outside shower knob looks broken or about to break. We didn’t use it. Screens are ripped on screened porches. The dryer does not shut off on its own-which I realized after starting it before bed and waking up three hours later with it still running. It’s a great location, you’d think an investor would put necessary improvements in. The ROI would surely pay off.

My friends and I were very comfortable in this house for a girls getaway. The house was located on a quiet street but the beach and town were in walking distance. The rooms were spacious but the front porch was our favorite. We watched the walkers, joggers, and bikers every morning which prompted us to get moving ourselves for some exercise. The house was a rustic and charming beach house. It would be a lovely place to bring families also. Check in was a breeze. We didn't have any issues with our stay but the owner provided his cell if we needed him. l
