This place is wonderful!! The house is beautiful and so well decorated. Visited Appomattox for a Mother-Daughter trip with my girls. We loved each having our own bedroom. The owners had snacks and plenty of beverage choices (water, coffees and teas). Comfortable beds, and everything was very clean. If ever in the area again, this will be where we stay. Great location on quiet street. Very close to the Appomattox Courthouse and about an hour and half away from Monticello.

Great hosts. Excellent location. Walk to historic downtown. Close drive to Appomattox Courthouse Historic Park and Civil War Museum. Also close enough to visit Lynchburg. Hosts provided an excellent collection of coffee, tea and snacks.

I am always looking for Unique Places to stay and this fit the Bill-Older Home brought back memories of a gentler less Hectic time-Porch Swing with the 4 year-old. Luckily we had nice weather and the trees were beautiful, Appomattox has so much History and it was a pleasure exploring the area. I would love to come back and if this House is Available I would not Hesitate in requesting it

This house was amazing. The picture did not do it justice. The neighborhood was nice as well and walking distance to a few restaurants and the Appomattox court house. All the fixtures and decor were beautiful. The porch swing was great too. We would definitely stay again if we are ever back up in VA. We would definitely recommend this beautiful house to stay in anytime you are in the area.

We loved our brief stay in the Bingham House, which has been tastefully and comfortably restored, while retaining the beauty and character of the original home. Fantastic location on a quiet street, with a lovely front porch to enjoy, and a short drive from the national historical park. We were just passing through this time, but hope to return someday to take in more of what Appomattox has to offer. Thank you!

We loved staying here! The home is so warm and cozy, a plush blanket on every bed and every couch! The beds were very comfortable! The sofa was also very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and hearing the church bells ring! The layout of the kitchen is not very functional for living, but it worked for staying a little while. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed! We wish we could have stayed longer!

If you are anywhere near Appomattox, you have to stay here. Tom and Susan's gem of a home strikes the rare balance of classic, old-world charm with all the modern conveniences. Plenty of room for our family of 4, great location in the historic district, walking distance from quaint restaurants, shopping, civil war history and so much more. So glad we stayed here!

We enjoyed our time thoroughly. The property is beautiful, with an excellent layout for our large family of four boys. The property's charm showed in every area, including the attention to detail with decorating. My children marveled at the mechanical typewriter and conversations about how things "used to be before touch screens," as they put it. Ha! The property owners were great to work with and even accommodated our need for an early check-in due to the wedding schedule we were attending. The surrounding immediate area is excellent and is also the perfect launching spot for much historical exploration. We look forward to staying again soon! Susan, thanks so much for sharing your property with us!

Quaint lovely roomy home with comfortable beds. Coffee, tea & snacks available. Washer & dryer. Nice living room with games & big screen TV. The glass door knobs were charming. We were not there long enough to enjoy most of the amenities. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Bingham House. We stayed in Appomattox for the Liberty 2023 graduation. Location worked wonderfully only about 20 -25 min drive to LU and we didn’t have to deal with the crowds or heavy traffic in Lynchburg. Had a chance to tour the Appomattox Court House (civil war), and take some leisurely walks around town. The house is decorated wonderfully and very comfortable and relaxing. We loved the front porch and rocking chairs with our morning coffee. The house had everything we needed, coffee, washer / dryer, iron, steamer, good selection of kitchen essentials and all supplies were well stocked. Communication with owner was responsive and easy. No hassle check in/ out. Definitely recommend.

I cant say enough good things about this house and the host. The host really thought of everything and the info notebook was really helpful. The house is a beautiful mix of old and new. Im really impressed at how much of the original character of the house they were able to keep while still upgrading the functionality. I also love that this place is kid friendly. Its not baby/toddler proof, but its great for older kids.
The only minor problem we had was the air fresheners. I dont know if they were recently replaced, but they were very strong. My husband has asthma and the strong smell gave me a headache, so we opened the doors and unplugged the fresheners. I only mention that for the folks like us that may have an issue with fragrances. I would still stay here again though.

Wonderful short stay. Check in was a breeze. House was about perfect including a very comfortable bed. Dinner at a nearby restaurant (could have walked) was excellent. All in all a terrific experience.

My family and a friend's met here for a one night hangout and very much enjoyed our stay. The house is charming (the host clearly has an eye for detail), and I felt myself relaxing as soon as I walked in the door. I particularly loved the front porch. Highly recommend!

Our family stayed just one night and wish we could have stayed longer! It’s a darling home and super clean. The host was amazing to work with. The town is cute and we loved learning so much about Appomattox! It was relaxing and peaceful and I hope to go back!

We had such a wonderful time at the Bingham House! Exceptionally clean and the hosts have gone above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The house has been renovated to provide modern amenities with classic charm. Bedrooms are cozy with comfy beds and high quality linens. All the rooms are so lovely! We wished we could stay longer!

Adorable and nicely decorated home in Appomattox, very close to historical sights. Everything was clean and well kept, and the owners clearly take well deserved pride in the home. Only two minor critiques— it was very cold in the living room and the window blinds were ineffective in keeping the light out from a bright streetlight. Some curtains and a space heater would go a long way!

The property was very clean, very close to historic downtown. Lots of space and very nicely decorated.

After a day of exploring Appomattox Court House in very chilly weather, the warm, cuddly, snuggly blankets made our evening positively delightful. Curled up on the comfy couch in a beautiful living room, we ended our day enjoying The Crown on Netflix. Really appreciated the nice touches the host provided that made this visit special. You will love the Bingham House.

This house was as fantastic as expected. It is a 100 year old property that has been totally refurbished and modernized by the owners. Their attention to details and the supplied amenities were marvelous. The owners were great with their communications. We would gladly stay here again.

Bingham house far exceeded our expectations! Host Susan has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable! The home is soo clean! The beds are comfortable, extra cozy blankets in every room. The photos do not do the property justice. Walking distance to plenty of downtown Appomatomox shopping and dining. My personal favorite spot was the front porch swing. Will be staying here again! Highly recommend!

The pictures do not do this 1922 home justice. Beautiful hardwood floors, original baseboards and doors and very tasteful decorations. Very clean. The air was at the right temperature on such a hot day. Entrance to the home was simple. The only downfall is the one bathroom, but is to be expected in an older home. The owners we so accommodating. They allowed us to leave one of our vehicles at the home while we attended Longwood graduation. I highly recommend this rental. It would be great for visiting Appomattox, but is also only about 30 minutes from Longwood University. I really can’t believe this lovely home was available when we booked a week before graduation.
