About this house rental
Nestled in Moultonborough, this charming house for £336 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. A small pond feel on the "big lake"! Located at the very Northern tip of Winnipesaukee, this log home offers 3 bedrooms in the main house plus sleeping in the lower level family room and a bedroom over the detached garage. Great privacy, peace and quiet can be found at this home with 220 feet of frontage and great sunsets. The home offers a great room with high ceilings; a beautiful stone fireplace (sorry, fireplace is off limits and not to be used); cable t.v.; wireless internet; deck overlooking the lake; wooden spiral stairs to both upper and lower levels (the lower level has it's own kitchen, main room with 2 beds and sitting room plus a full bath!); second floor with 2 bedrooms plus a bath, sitting loft and office area. The charming master suite offers a pretty fireplace and a 3/4 bath. The detached garage has a large bedroom above (go through garage to get to this room). The natural shorefront has pretty views and sunsets with a dock that can accommodate two boats up to 25' in length. This is a great spot to bring your canoe or kayak and paddle the shoreline or, maybe, catch dinner. If you just want to relax and get some sun, there is a lawn area by the water perfect for taking in the nature around you. You can even bring your best friend (dog, that is), depending on the size and kind with the owner's prior approval and $175.00 pet fee - limit of one dog is strictly enforced. Please ask about bringing your dog at the time of booking. Window A/C in master bedroom. Water source for the house is from the lake. Use bottled water for consumption. Parking for 6 cars. If you would like to rent linens, the fee for this property is $120 for sheets and $12 per person for towels. If you would like to have the beds made for you, the fee is $8 per bed. Rentals from October 15 - May 15 do not include the space above the garage due to no heat. Please note: Photos of lower level spaces do not reflect the current bed configuration. New photos will be posted soon. The large main family room in the lower level will have the 2 full beds. A sitting room will be set up in one of the smaller rooms. One of the reasons we rented this property was for the view and it didn't disappoint. The home is older and has some quirks-the layout is unique. But there was plenty of space to spread out.The spiral staircase could be tricky for some and adding solar lights to the exterior stairs and dock would be a welcomed bonus. Figuring out how to use the TV and what light switches went with what lights presented a small challenge but we figured it out. We have a number of avid readers so evening light for reading wasn't the best.That being said we would definitely rent again-the location gives lots of options for day trips or a few hours worth of exploring.

Let's start with the reservation and this review. Despite being in contact with At The Lake Vacation Rentals several times in the spring and paying promptly, they had me down as living in Longmeadow, MA. They still have me down as being from Longmeadow, MA. I am not from there. We spent most of the days outdoors, and the location was great to excellent, but the property was Ok/good because in the AM/PM we did not have TV service for 3 of the 6 nights we were there. The Internet service was also very poor and we had to reboot the router like 5 times. We were told that we could not have any fires but the previous renters clearly had a fire down on the shore of the lake and left it behind to clearly be seen. The middle of the week we learned one of the bathroom showers was leaking into the downstairs bathroom so we stopped using that shower the last three days we were there. Our rental went from Sunday to Saturday (so only 6 days) but At the Lake failed to tell us that the Wild Meadow Paddle Sports was closed Monday thru Thursday, (we learned this by chance at 3:45 PM on Sunday when we stooped at Wild Meadow right after leaving At the Lake)so we had to rent kayaks from Monday thru Friday, longer than we had planned for. Two days before our trip and on the 2nd to last night of our rental I called the Office of At the Lake and did not get a call back the next day!!! This happened twice in one week. I am in the rental business myself and the property amenities and the management did not live up to expectations. The location was excellent.

The house was dusty and dirty with spider webs. When we first got there, there was no mattress on one of the beds in the basement. Later in the night someone came with a mattress. A plumber was supposed to come and fix a valve, someone came and flushed the toilet and said it was fine. There was an odor in the basement kitchen all week. No plumber came. The description of the house said there were wall/window AC units. There was one AC in the Master Bedroom closet. We weren't planning on installing it. The tv's didn't work. There was a wicker rocking chair in the living room that the seat was completely ripped open. The light over the toilet in the basement bathroom with filthy with dead bugs and dust. The doors to the second floor bathroom did not close or lock properly. The shower door in that bathroom did not latch, therefore water got on the floor every time someone took a shower. The bedrooms in the basement were dungeon-like except they each had a hole in the wall--no privacy. The window in the front bathroom was cracked. The stairs going down to the dock were dangerous and some of them were loose. There is no lighting outside to go down to the dock. The bedroom over the garage was uninhabitable. There was no bathroom so someone would have to cross the parking lot to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night. We didn't use that bedroom so we had to use the couches as there were 10 of us. There was a kayak and bikes at the house that we asked if we could use, but we were told that we could not. All in all, the whole experience was very disappointing since we had paid almost $2,700 for the week. We loved Moultonboro and Weirs Beach and Wolfeboro. We intend to go again next year, but we will probably go with a different rental agency.

This was a very enjoyable stay at a truky secluded location on the big lake. Most of the day time was spent fishing and kayaking and the location for that was perfect. Plenty of serene conditions for paddling undisturbed by large power boats. We enjoyed observing Loons right off the dock, an industrious beaver lodge 100 yds away and great blue heron dining daily in the marsh/Lily pads. At night there was plenty to do with Funspot, Minigolf, go carts and the Weirs within 15-20 min drive. For those not up for fishing, there were wineries, cideries and plenty of other options to investigate. Some of us took a pleasant 3hr cruise on Winnipesaukee on the Mt Washington. Overall everyone enjoyed their stay very much!

The cottage is in a great location with a good deal of privacy. The place however needed a thorough cleaning. There were cobwebs in all of the windows and the kitchen had dirty pots and pans. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean .

We had a fabulous time at this spot, rain or shine! We had 8-10 people at all times, and there were gorgeous views, amazing encounters with wildlife (including daily sightings and sounds from what felt like our own loon family from the adjacent loon nesting site), and great opportunities for swimming and paddling. The kitchen was funky and tiny, and the downstairs apartment was gloomy, but, overall, this could not have been a more perfect spot.

The house was not in rental condition, it seemed to be abandoned property. At one time it seems the home was beautiful, nice furniture quality, but not kept up. Mice feces in every bed except master. Mouse feces in cabinets. Washing machine stopped working. Silverware cabinet fell apart when you opened it . Planter rotted and left on deck. So many more, it's too bad, at one time I'm sure the property was beautiful . We had a great vacation in spite of condition of house. The owner needs to clean the house and repair a few things, before your company rents it again for them, it is a reflection on your vacation rental company

The location is awesome, great for swimming/kayaking but close to big lake for skiing/tubing. Gets afternoon sun. Close to town as well. But the house was a mess. Very few of the lights worked. Many of the bulbs had been broken off in the sockets. There was trash all around the property including in the water by the dock. There was dog feces all around the property as well. A fire-pit was mentioned in the listing but not on the property. We ran out of propane for the grill and there was no backup canister. The support post on the upper deck is completely broken away from the floor and is quite dangerous as a fall hazard. Overall the property is not being maintained by the owner nor is it being cleaned between renters by the management company. I spent half my vacation trying to fix things that were broken just so my family could enjoy their vacation. The broker told us afterwards that there is some family dispute about the ownership and no one is maintaining it. Would have been nice to know that before I booked it for my vacation. Pass this one up.

Loved this corner of the lake! It was quiet and secluded. Not a safe home for small children as the hill to the lake was very steep and stairs were wobbly. Lots of small personal items cluttered every where. Home was tidy, not clean. No smoke detectors. I would recommend this home for adults and teens. We had a ball!

If you are looking to watch loons, snapping turtles, herons, beavers and other wildlife right from your front porch, to kayak or canoe or swim right from your own dock in what has to be the quietest part of the lake, this is your place. We’ve come here 2 years in a row, and have enjoyed it in rain, sweltering heat, and crisp cool air. The living/dining areas and porch are absolutely wonderful, although the circular staircase and tiny kitchen are quirky, to say the least. The basement bedrooms were cool on hot days, but had little else to recommend them, and the bedroom over the garage was nobody’s favorite place. But the upstairs bedrooms and the downstairs master were great. We really didn’t need to leave for anything except hiking or jogging all week long.

Windows & dresser drawers dirty.Furniture: 3rd fl couch/bed -broken.main floor lounge chair broken. Glass on coffeetable -unsecured. ALL bathrm doors need locks & planed to close.More fans/ac units & screens needed thruout. Downstirs: exposed elec wires -cover sockets,remove moldy rug, repair fireplace,Put ac unit in window &screens on doors.Remove 1 piano & add a table.Charming home,great location,needs some major updating especially the 2 bdrms downstairs.

Absolutely great house in a lovely quiet cove on Winnipesaukee. Tons of space for large families to have a wonderful time. We ate out on the wraparound porch every night and the dogs were waterlogged 24/7. The photos are accurate, there is no sandy beach for swimming, but you can wade the entire length of the property and the water is deep enough to jump off the dock. No problem bringing in the boat and we had plenty of room for a Sailfish and two kayaks. Yes, those are the steps from the house to the water, think of it as your own guilt free vacation with a StairMaster built in! Couldn't ask for a better setting, it was just beautiful!

We had a great week of swimming and relaxing. It was exactly what we wanted! This house was perfect for our family: plenty of room, relaxed interior, great porch. Quiet area, great neighborhood. Good road for morning run, kitchen and laundry all worked great. Not fancy but we would not want that at the lake anyway. If you need pristine accommodations then it's not for you, but if you are an outdoorsy type then it's perfect. Spiral staircases so be sure you are up to manage little kids on stairs. Basement has separate kitchen and small living area that has double French doors opening toward lake. Extra bedrooms down there are very basic - perfect for teenagers. Upstairs guest bedrooms share a bath and there is an office in the loft space. Master bedroom is on main floor and has its own bathroom. A country setting will have a stray spiderweb or evidence of a mouse from time to time but this is to be expected. The house was clean as a whistle when we arrived, no complaints!

dream home and dream location! The house is set up perfectly for a larger gathering of people and the section of the lake is peaceful and beautiful, we absolutely loved our stay. Overall it's a 5-star experience, however, not having any sponges, paper towels, or toilet paper was a drag. I brought a kayak but it would have been nice for the rest of us to have been able to use their canoe. That being said, STUNNING PLACE

The Droukas house is in a perfect location of the lake. It definitely could use updating as others have said and the spiral staircases are very narrow, but it is spacious, clean and has everything you need. It was great that we could bring our yellow lab, who loved the lake:) I would definitively rent it again.

The house is in a perfect spot on the lake - very quiet and you can jump right in off the dock. There is a lot of Loon and Blue Heron activity. It had almost all amenities that you could ask for, but there is only 1 AC and the house gets very hot, especially the upstairs bedrooms and bedroom over garage. More fans or AC would be a good addition. The walk down to the dock is tough for anyone older and a handrail is needed. A ladder to get back onto the dock would be great too! The gas went out on our second day there, so we had cold showers and could not cook dinner, but I called and someone was out to fill it within a few hours. The basement bed is VERY uncomfortable and needs replacement. Overall, the house is really nice, in a great spot, and I can't wait to go back next year!

Great place for a family vaca. We had 7 adults and two kids around the age of 2. The stairs weren't the easiest/safest especially for kids. As another review mentioned, the house could use a few updates. But it suited all of our needs and we loved sitting on the back deck every day just enjoying the view! The management company was really helpful. Very happy with our stay - thank you!

We spent a wonderful week at the Drukas cabin in mid August. The cabin was very clean and sanitized by the cleaning crew who were there for our early arrival. This cabin is wonderful because it has a nice new dock on the lake and is just far enough but not too far away from area attractions, I would recommend the cabin to anyone looking for an outdoor experience away from people.
