When our Cape Cod rental fell through at the last minute, we were able to grab this property from Tuesday to Saturday. It was a new listing and no reviews, so I will try and help fill in some details. First of all this is a very nice place with updated kitchen, appliances and furniture. It is clean and modern.. it has internet service and internet streaming services available on a nice TV, but we couldn’t find any standard cable tv (they have a dish so they might and we couldn’t find it). Kids mostly watch Netflix and Hulu so we were fine signing into our accounts. Our teens LOVED The pool table and foosball table, and we had a lot of fun with that. In terms of the outside, the upstairs deck was very nice. The furniture was great and the view of the lake was wonderful. We spent a few evenings outside playing cards on the lit deck. The lake was not good for swimming, at least not off the dock, because there is a lot of lily pads, weeds and cover. However, not mentioned in the listing, there was a paddle boat, which was a great Surprise. The lake is great if you have a kayak or other small boat as it is a beautiful lake with very little boat traffic. We saw a bald eagle, many loons and an Osprey do a nose-dive to take out a fish while we were out on the lake on the small inflatable boat we brought with us. I caught several small bass and pickerel fishing but nothing very large, although to be fair it was the dog days of fishing in August. The town of Meredith is a little under 10 minutes away, and we enjoyed the quaint New England shops and restaurants. Also close to bigger towns like Laconia and we took a day trip to North Conway (about an hour away) to do some shopping at the outlets for back to school. In terms of drawbacks, you are On a busy road which was some concern to us with two little dogs. However I will say that this was offset by the fact that they have a nice fenced in yard area which worked great for the dogs. Also the traffic died down as the day went on and by the evening time when we were out on the deck, we didn’t hear any traffic at all. Otherwise -very isolated with no neighbors. The other drawback was that although the master bedroom had excellent air conditioning, the upstairs bedrooms got pretty hot in August , but our teens slept on the futon and a trundle comfortably in the basement on really hot nights. Overall this was a quality rental -we all enjoyed it quite a bit!
