About this apartment rental

This typical vertical house of the Cinque Terre , furnished nautical style, is very characteristic so that you can experience the local way of life, just like a real fisherman of the coastline. The apartment is located on a "carugio", one of the oldest and most important alleys typical of the villages of the Cinque Terre, which from the castle will descend all the way down to the marina, through the steps overlooking the coastline. What makes this house so special it’s the mesmerizing view, overlooking the village, the marina, and whole coastline of the Cinque Terre, all the way to Monterosso.....In the summer the sun dives into the horizon, giving you the gift of the most beautiful sunset you have ever seen, while you enjoy sipping a good glass of wine, sitting on your terrace. There are some folding chairs for you to sunbathe on, or you can take the table out and have dinner, relaxing under a sky lit with millions of stars, listening to the sound of the waves crashing by.

We loved our stay at Elisa's property in Riomaggiore. It is a quaint, character-filled apartment with a view that is to die for. You literally look out to see and are able to soak in the amazing sunsets each evening at Cinque Terre. The sea breezes float through the open windows and it will forever be one of the most special places I have stayed. It is well-equipped and central to all the local cafes, shops and restaurants. As with everywhere in Cinque Terre, there is lots of stairs, to get to the apartment and even inside the apartment, however, that is part and parcel of this part of the world. Also, be aware the bathroom is tiny. So if you are looking for something spacious, this may not be the place for you. Elisa was a pleasure to deal with and did everything she could to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

We had a great stay here in Riomaggiore. Elisa was extremely helpful and even provided us a video with her walking the route to the condo from the train station. The condo is extremely rustic which she clearly states in her listing. Do not expect much in the way of kitchen items. We had to buy decent coffee mugs and coffee, creamer, sugar, etc. and boil the water in a pan on the burner. Very little room if you want to prepare meals. Bathroom is extremely tight and awkward due to the shower splashing down on the toilet and sink. We did have multiple problems with the key to the inside door not working correctly, but always got in eventually. The best aspect of the condo is the balcony and view. We watched the sunsets every night and listened to the crowds cheer.

we had a lovely 3 night stay at this rustic property. A steady climb to the top of the building brings you to this villa with stunning views of the Ligurian Sea and the marina below in the heart of Riomaggiore. As this was our first visit to Cinque Terre we did not know where we were going or anything about the area. The host, Elisa kindly provided a short video prior to check in that gave us a rough guide from the train station to locating the property (about 10-15 minute walk from train) Wear comfortable shoes and pack as light as you can. The terrain in Cinque Terre requires many up and down traverses and many stairs to navigate. Property was clean but rustic. Pictures accurately describe the property. The size was fine for two of us with the main bedroom for sleeping and extra room for our luggage. No A/C in unit. However there was a fan and it cooled down in the evenings with lovely breezes coming off the hillside and sea. We spent our early evenings sitting on the villa patio overlooking the marina and sea. Nice location and easy enough to catch the train or pick up the trail to hike or easy ride to the other 4 towns that make up Cinque Terre. Would recommend for a rustic accommodation and the view make this a special place.

This unique stay had a magical view and perfect location to visit cinque terres! There were lots of stairs but that is part of the charm. The owner was great to communicate with!

Elisa, is attentive to her guests, though when we voiced some issues we had she accused us of being over dramatic and complaining to get a refund. The house itself is old and very rustic, a little too rustic and the worst rental home we’ve had at our stay, and one of the more expensive. We would not stay here again. You can stay in any of the 5Terre towns and take a train so make sure you look for a comfortable place. There is no A/C so it was quite hot and was hard to get a good nights sleep. Only one fan for 2 bedrooms. These is a bar right across from the marina and the 1st night they played loud music until around 2am so we got no sleep. We found beds to be old, thin and hard. Not a good sleep. The shower is over the toilet and is a very small space right in the cooking area of the kitchen. When you use the bathroom sink we would smell sewer smells through out the kitchen. Also water runs into the kitchen floor from the shower and then leaks into the bedroom below. The host said it’s becuse we didn’t shut the door properly and implied we caused this, but I’m a carpenter and the floor slopes poorly. You can see where cheap repairs with caulk have been made over the years and the water spots on bedroom ceiling show that this has happened for awhile. There was a major storm during our stay and the windows don’t latch properly and they kept blowing open causing us to stay up all night closing them. No sleep 2 of our 3 nights.

This is a fabulous stay, AS LONG AS you can be open to the history and heritage of such a space. Communication with host is excellent, and she is a sweetheart! It is important to know that this flat is VERY small, and there is very little space to place your belongings, esp if you are traveling with a family, as we did. But it is adorable, unique, and full of love. The shower is tiny, as you shower over the toilet, but again, the views are epic and it is full of love.

Elisa was a fantastic communicator and cared about making sure our stay was great. We were not expecting the place to be so small nor the bathroom to be a wet bathroom (shower and toilet without separation) but Cinque Terre original housing is small! We didn’t expect AC because Europe doesn’t always have AC but it was pretty hot at night and minimal windows in the second bedroom with the bunk beds. Overall, a great stay though! A BEAUTIFUL view from the top terrace and a nice breeze while you overlook the ocean and pastel colored homes nestled into the cliff! Would recommend for those who can accept small spaces and lots of stairs.
