You can even hear the waves from the comfort of your sofa. The balcony door in the living room boasts a fantastic view of the vista, perfect for when those pesky TV adverts come on. And when it's time to get out and explore, you couldn't be better positioned – you'll be right by the entrance to Oia village, with its Renaissance-era castle (built to guard against pirates) and famous church reachable in just ten minutes. If it's a day at the beach you're after, Ammoundi Bay is a four-minute drive or twenty-minute stroll (make sure you stop by one of the seafood restaurants for lunch). Back at home, we think evenings are best spent in the hot tub – half-shaded and given complete privacy by the arch of the staircase, with the other half offering incredible sunset views as you sit back in the bubbling water, with a glass of bubbly in hand (of course).
