This apartment is in a fantastic location, close to Jolly Harbour with its supermarket, shops and restaurants, and a few minutes by car or a short walk to some of the best beaches on the island. The apartment is very comfortable, the gardens are attractive and the pool proved wonderful after a glorious day on the beach. Jenny who looks after the guests really could not do more to make our holiday enjoyable. The Sugar Ridge Resort next door it is perfect for sipping your cocktails whilst watching the sun go down over Jolly Harbour. A lovely holiday enjoyed by all the family we would definitely recommend Hamilton House, and we are sure to return in the not too distant future!

This was our 7th visit to Antigua, but the first time at the end of season. The villas we usually book were too expensive, but the cost here was very reasonable. The booking experience was extremely straightforward and our host, Jenny, was very helpful. Hamilton House Apartment 4 is on the ground floor of a large property with 3 others. The garden is well maintained, with a full-size outdoor pool with a sundeck, canopy and loungers. The accommodation is spacious, fully equipped and relatively clean. There are air conditioning units in each room, fast internet, cable TV, as well as a large cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. These apartments are 10 years old, but most of the fixtures fittings and appliances are near their end of life, with signs of age, wear-and-tear and corrosion. Some parts would benefit from a deep clean, but the overall standard was perfectly acceptable and clean bedding and towels are provided. There is no backup generator, but we only had one short power cut during two weeks. There is also an outdoor veranda and barbecue area exclusive to the apartment. It is very close to the Jolly Harbour, with a small, well stocked Epicurean supermarket. However we still did our main shopping at the Epicurean near St Johns, as it is much bigger. There are several very lovely beaches nearby, such Valley Church beach, and Coco beach with its excellent snorkelling. There are many more fantastic beaches just slightly further afield, such as Darkwood, Deep Bay and Hawskbill. There are plenty of restaurants, although we did not try any of them because one of my family suffers from serious food allergies. During our stay, we also hired a 19ft self drive motorboat from Paradise Boats for a day and we had a fantastic time visiting Five islands, Cades reef, Hermitage beach and Rendevous Bay. We were saw a shark, turtle and sting ray during this trip, as well as plenty of beautiful fish! It is best to have some previous motor boat experience though, as it was choppy in some places the day we went, plus the reef is extremely shallow. At this time of year, the weather was a wetter and cloudier than earlier in the year. However it was still lovely with plenty of warm sunshine on many days. The sea water was particularly warm, the hottest we remember it! If you are looking for good value, well equipped, spacious self-catering accommodation set in one of the best locations on the island, then Hamilton House Apartments are an ideal choice.

We booked this appt as a base for a week in the sun watching the cricket. Having looked at many of the properties in the Jolly Harbour we liked the look of Hamilton House. The location is a short walk from the harbour location, but there are a few restaurants and bars across the road and on the way to the main resort. Booking the villa was painless and also included collection and drop off for the airport. We continued to use the transport service (the local taxi driver) for our trips to the cricket and this was made so easy by the owners leaving a local payg mobile so we easy access to the mamangement company and the taxi driver. Overall a great find for us and we'll look to return for the cricket in two years time

Most enjoyable. Probably our best holiday ever. Close to beaches, supermarket and restaurants. Having a car proved to be an excellent decision as if one beach was crowded we drove to another. All in all a wonderful holiday with outstanding customer service.

It was probably the busiest we have found Antigua but that was not a bad thing. The island was buzzing. We noticed a huge change at the local beach - Valley Church. What was once a quiet locals' beach has now become a cruise ship stop-off. It did mean we tried more beaches and therefore a car is essential. All the beaches in the local area were good with excellent beach-bar facilities. You must, however, take a trip to Half Moon Bay on the other side of the island - less busy but idyllic. The apartment was fine, comfortable and well-equipped. You are aware of your neighbours and it obviously does not give the privacy of a detached villa but the pool was quiet and a good option. The apartment was well managed by Jenny who was excellent. She was there to greet and always available to assist. The whole operation was well managed and slick - transfers were spot on. The apartment itself was fully equipped with two comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a variety of eateries just two minutes away and the supermarket is a ten-minute walk. We have stayed in hotels in Antigua in the intervening years but on balance this arrangement worked well. I tried to work out how the two compare in terms of cost. Food was definitely more expensive and Brexit has not helped the UK holiday market but a self-managing apartment was pretty much on a par with a lower end all-inclusive. The car hire - which is essential - gives a more varied itinerary and I think this will be our way to go in the future. You will not be disappointed and there is a good range of accommodation options in the portfolio.

Could not fault this apartment, great position close to supermarket and restaurants and 10 mins walk to 'picture postcard' beach. The apartment was well equipped with everything a family of four would need for a holiday, the pool and gardens were well maintained and Jenny who looks after the guests really could not do more to make your holiday enjoyable. Would recommend Antigua as an Island as the locals are fantastic and the beaches sunning.

Our family of four arrived June 25th, 2016 to begin our vacation for 14 days! We got picked up at the airport and driven to Hamilton Estates. It was exactly as the picture displayed it. The apartment was nice and clean when we arrived and half way through our holiday, housecleaning came in and changed all the sheets and towels. The towels were hanging dry on the line. I did laundry as I like things to be clean so I had washed some towels earlier in the week. The apartment had all the comforts of home...wifi, TV, air conditioners in each room, large ceiling fans, nice fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and plenty of pots and pans. My only complaint was that there weren't proper utensils or plastic storage containers. I almost bought a can opener as the one there isn't working. The pool was nice and clean! We had the entire complex to ourselves for a week and a half. Being that it was July, there weren't as many guests. I am sure it is not always like that. The area was very quiet and felt safe. We didn't rent a car until three days before we left. We are a very active family so walking didn't bother us. We walked to Jolly Beach, Valley Church Beach and even home from Ffryes Beach. We walked to get groceries and my husband would carry large bottles of water while we carried the other groceries. Just a note, they have banned all plastic bags on the island so either bring cloth ones or buy them. The grocery store was about a 5-10 minute walk door to door. If you don't have a car, it is pretty close. The bus is very convenient to each of the beaches and into town. Once we rented a car and drove to the other side of the island, we realized how fortunate we were to be staying in Hamilton Apartments. We really are on the most beautiful side of the island with beautiful beaches. I would highly recommend Hamilton Apartment #4. I am sure they are all very nice. The furniture was lovely, especially in the master bedroom. The mattresses were VERY comfortable, as were the pillows. You will NOT be disappointed. If I could ask for a few things, it would be better utensils, more plastic storage boxes to keep dry food, can opener, and maybe replace the bathtub or fix the rusted section. Just all minor issues. Very pleased!!!!

Great apartment close to beautiful beaches!

This apartment is in a fantastic location (particulary in the off season) close to Jolly Harbour with its supermarket & resturants and a few minutes by car or a short walk to the best beaches on the island (Valley Church, turners and ffyes) It was a good value option for us travelling as a family of 4. and was a described on the website having everything you needed ,including some extras ,which are an added bonus like a dishwasher.Booking was quick and easy and having transfers included was great. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. We were the only guests there which was lovely. We were a little disappointed with the food at some of the resturants Miracles on the corner was one of the better ones and we had a final meal at Sheer rocks which was more expensive but delicious! Hiring a car is easy they deliver it to the apartment although you don't need one as the bus goes by the end of the drive and walking is easy too!

The apartment was comfortable and very well equipped. Nice quiet setting with pool which was perfect for cooling off after a hot day at the cricket. Transfers and introductions were seamless, really top notch accommodation.

Hamilton house is well located being close to Jolly Harbour and some beautiful beaches which lie within comfortable walking distance, or local bus journey, though we did hire a car for a few days so that we could see more of the beautiful island. The apartment is very comfortable, the gardens are attractive and the pool is a real bonus after a hard day on the beach!! We had a great week and would stay again without a doubt. We had a simply wonderful time at Hamilton House. A big, well-kept property with a lovely living area and nice bedrooms - and a great terraced area to eat breakfast on! The pool is lovely and, although shared with the other properties, we often had it to ourselves. Lots of nice places nearby for food and drink. Would definitely recommend getting a car while you're there - although the nearest beaches are a short walk away, it's a bit of a hairy walk down roads without any pavements! Other than that, we had a great time and would love to go back.

This was our first trip to Antigua and we chose the perfect place to stay! The location cannot be beat. We did rent a car and got to drive to a different beach every day. Most of which were close by to the apartment. Jolly Beach was literally a minute's drive down the road and we went several times to the grocery store. Lots of restaurants were nearby as well. The pool was great for the kids with a nice mix of sun and shade. Our two bedrooms were a great size with ample size closets and dressers to fit all of our clothes and luggage in. We ate all of our meals outside on our covered porch. We loved watching all of the birds and geckos! The manager even lent us a coffee maker for the week! The washing machine was great to have as well as the dishwasher. A perfect place for a wonderful vacation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hamilton House. The apartment was every bit as good as it looks in the photographs. The rooms were spacious, clean and well furnished: the kitchen more than adequate for our needs. The veranda was a delight throughout the day: in the mornings for breakfast watching the humming birds and at twilight to review the day and plan for the next to the sounds of the tree frogs and night herons. The pool provided both a welcome end to a hard day’s exploration or the base for a lazy day at home! The location could not be improved: beaches, shops and restaurants all within easy walking distance: we tried them all and could fault none. The bus to St Johns (and connections onwards) stopped at the end of the drive. Our friends hired a car to get to the more remote parts of the island and attractions that are off the beaten track but we survived for three weeks without one. Howard ensured the booking arrangements went smoothly and Yasmine that all our needs were met.

Our stay at Hamilton Estate was outstanding! The property was exactly as pictured. The little things we usually take for granted is what made the difference for us (Internet, local phone, washing machine and 110v plugs). The landscaping was well maintained and truly added to the tranquility of the property. All staff members were cordial and helpful. Even more unforgettable was the thoughtfulness of providing refreshments. They were welcomed by us, especially since our flight arrived much later than anticipated and we were starving! I adore the location of Hamilton Estate, close enough to Jolly Harbour to enjoy the conveniences but far enough away to feel the benefit of a private estate rather than an overly congested tourist area. I would enthusiastically recommend Hamilton Estate and will book here for our next visit to Antigua.
