I did not know about this hidden gem at the beach and this will definitely be our go to spot for future stays. Hotel was beautiful, the staff was amazing and it was just a short walk to the beach access.

The staff at the Alice is spot on! Never had better customer service. They could do consulting for other companies.. that friendly. The hotel is dated but a historic adventure. Nice place to stay.

My husband and I were spending a weekend away for our anniversary and chose this hotel based off of the rating and the photos. Arriving to the hotel, you get the appearance of sophistication. The photos online are very nice and the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. The layout of our room was great and the linens were clean. However the linens were the only thing that housekeeping worried about. The flooring in the room was an ash colored hardwood laminate and while pretty to look at, it was also very deceiving in its cleanliness. Our only assumption to its filth was, housekeeping looked at the floor and said “it doesn’t look dirty” and therefore did nothing to it. This in turn left us to discover it was covered in sand among other things throughout the room. If there was a hard flat surface in the room, it was sticky from spilled drinks from whoever stayed previously. Even the drawers in the dresser had trash, dust, and hair in every one. The pleather pull-out couch was also sticky with soda can rings and a woman’s red nail polish that had been peeled off. The outlet by the sink AND the light above the sink did not work. Nor did the floor lamp next to the pull-out couch. The mattress on the king-sized bed was clearly 30+ years old and I believe we would have slept better, if we had slept on concrete. We checked out early. The front desk staff was again very kind, but unfortunately they were the only good things about this hotel and not worth the money spent.

Room was not cleaned upon arrival, called desk and they said they would clean it whole we were out, wasnt cleaned that niggt or next day, had to change room for final night.

Room was wonderful overall. Staff was so pleasant and very helpful. When our ac broke we had to move rooms on the last night of our stay but overall very pleased with our stay!

My stay was incredible , the suite was so beautiful , and quiet . Amy and Susie did everything to make my stay as enjoyable as possible . My coffee maker didn’t work , when I woke up. I called down to Susie and within 5 minutes coffee was brought up , to my room. I. The coofee was served on a small very decorative cutting board with lots of sugar / sweet n low, and many creamers . I have shared my amazing experience at Hotel Alice,with my family when they visit from the north. So I can make sure their vacation is very enjoyable. I can’t thank Susie enough and Amy as well. Hotel Alice is an excellent choice for a budget-friendly stay in the area. The location is great, a short walk to the beach and walking distance to a restaurant and bar. The staff were very friendly and we had a wonderful evening with the hotel bartender, Kelly. There are is some food on site. They are upgrading the facilities and the interior decor is very cute.

It was perfect! Cute, clean, great service! The bar and bartender were excellent! We were lucky enough to get the blueberry lemon daiquiri and gimlet for $5!!! The location is right across the street from the beach, and you can still see the ocean from the room. I can't say enough good things. You should stay here!

We had a last minute trip to the area specifically to go to Cape Lookout. We certainly found a gem in Hotel Alice. It was a beautiful, quaint, lovely hotel and it our needs perfectly, especially in the off-season.

We had 2 rooms for our stay. The beds were a little firmer than used to but not bad. The a/c in one room didnt work as good as the other. Not that big of a deao cause its January but it did get stuffy in there. Overall stay was good. Everything was clean and everyone nice and helpful

Hotel Alice was very elegant. Clean and the location was great. I didn't like that there was no continental breakfast or full breakfast offered to customers. Also, there was no alarm clock in the room. Otherwise, we had a great stay.

Our original plans changed due to a storm that rolled in that caused the ferries not to run. The hotel was halfway between where we were supposed to be and where we were going to be the next day. Could not ask for anything more on such short notice. The staff were very nice and even allowed us to check in an hr early. Everything was clean (sand free!) And the shower was heavenly after a week of campground cold showers. If we're ever back in the area we'll stay again.

We LOVE the Alice and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when we come up to visit our sons. The rooms are spacious, love the little kitchen area! It's right across the street from the ocean, what could be better? It's a hidden treasure at a great price.

It's average at best. Great location but was really dissapointed when I asked to check out early at 9:30 AM that morning and their policy was "you need to inform us by, umm.... midnight or 6 AM that day of" That is so made up it's ridiculous. Just tell me you want the money and I'll take the loss with integrity. $100 pet fee for one day seems a little egregious.

The room was just ok. Kind of had higher expectations after seeing the exterior and then the lobby. The beds weren't very comfortable and I guess I'd forgotten just how small double beds are. Upon arrival in any hotel room we always immediately check for bedbugs and such, well we found a roach. It most likely came from a previous guest because we only saw that one. Besides that the room was very clean. And if you have children, unless they're very quiet, I would probably reconsider staying there. My children are children and they make noise. Nothing was said to us, but the walls are very thin. I'm sure our neighbor was happy to see us leave. We did see them opening their door to see who the loud people were lol. And there's just something about this place that made me feel like we needed to be extra quiet. The staff was all super nice though. And i really appreciate the lady at the desk who helped me with my outfit and her being so honest instead of letting me go officiate a wedding with my belt looking crazy!! Overall it wasn't a bad stay.

Wasn't sure about this place but turned out to be very nice. The room was large with a separate sitting section and kitchenette. The bed very comfortable and it was very clean. The price was also very good so would happily stay again.

Stood in the lobby for a long while before anyone came to check in on me. Not exactly professional. There was a lot of stuff going on--construction across the street, and had to ask about safest route to beach. No showers. And the crosswalk areas, the signs for them were destroyed. Kinda unsafe feeling. My big issue though is that I reserve through Expedia, and the rate for those who have not signed in is the same as the rate for those who have signed in (i.e., the claim is that there is a discount, and there is NOT a discount...the price is exactly the same, but for Expedia members there is a 'markdown' that is actually just a complete fabrication...really sneaky advertising that was not happy about). Not sure this is something that the hotel has power over, but also definitely not an honest practice, so not happy.
