Loved the old style hotel, but very clean and comfortable. It was very elegant and all of the employees went above and beyond for us every day.

we booked RRH at recommendation of relative despite it being away from the tourist areas. good call. visiting the shopping areas and shrines was an experience but exhausting navigating the sidewalk and store crowds. returning to the RRH was like returning to home, peaceful and quiet. we took GO cabs everywhere so can't speak to whether public transportation was good.
we booked with breakfast included which we enjoyed each morning. a nice selection of japanese and western fare. never crowded. we also ate at the japanese restaurant which featured a variety of prix fix offerings. very nice. there was also a chinese restaurant and the garden cafe. all restaurants except breakfast require reservations in advance.
for those who want to swim or hit the fitness room, the upcharge is $30 pp each visit. we chose to skip it but the facilities looked nice when we took a look.
in summary, a classic european style hotel, well maintained, not crowded, polite japanese service, accessible to all parts of Tokyo via taxi. we enjoyed our visit very much.

The hotel was very nice and the rooms were great! I loved the separate living area and the bedroom. The staff wasn't very friendly though.

The shuttle service is key, but mostly the staff. Amazing people, kind and very helpful at all times! Would definitely return to this hotel, and it’s not the only one I’ve used in Tokyo, but this is our best experience and would repeat it and recommend it.
If I may add, we travelled with young adults whose loved the breakfast 🙂!

Clean, quiet, good location. Great staff

Its location is not the most convenient. Hotel is a lil dated, which was expected. Staff was helpful and pleasant. The closest MTR station is a 10min walk, which is not too too bad but, gets old fast. Hotel does offer a shuttled to a different MTR station every 30mins.

A great place to stay in Tokyo-Shinjuku. Although it is away from the main Shinjuku and nothing to shop around but a quiet and safe place and staff is very courteous and helpful. Buffet breakfast was quite tempting and we throughly enjoyed. More pluses and few hesitations.

The room was very clean and spacious.

Not worth it, it’s like time capsule from 1970s.. They need some serious upgrades and investment. Staff not helpful, almost 0 english, the customer satisfaction means nothing to them, and they are not even trying to hide it.. all about trying to extract few more dollars from you even with the rudeness of their manner.

Beware this HOTEL not accept VISA payment at the Hotel Service Counter. They will said your visa not valid in twice and ask you pay in CASH. So Crazy. So be sure pay your booking charges in advance, not to pay at the HOTEL.

I was able to check in quickly late at night around 10:30pm without any problems and the hotel staff was very professional and informative.
Upon entering the room there were some loud noises from the adjoining room and after informing the front desk, the noises ceased and I was able to spend a quiet sleep that evening. Thank you for your prompt response.

Very disappointed for this hotel. Probably I won’t stay at this hotel anymore. The location is inconvenient and we have to wait for a while to take a taxi. Also, because of short staff (only 1 person was working when I checked out), I wound up bringing down all my luggage and arranging transportation to the airport by myself. After I checked out, I had to carry all my luggage to a taxi by myself. As an Expedia gold member, it was just unbelievable!

Overall very good. I asked iron to be sent to room but didn’t get it and interior paining has some chipping, but other than that, nice location, property, and service.

The hotel lobby is very grand with a welcoming helpful staff. It was no surprise that the rooms are small but the rooms are very dated. Also the hotel is located near a university with a few restaurants and a 7/11 close by but it’s not a central location by any means.

Staff was excellent. Hotel is in a great location. I would highly recommend.

Their business model is basically a scam. Gym: $40. Pool $30. You want to extend a night, they charge $60 convenience fee on top of your nightly rate. Checkin process was horrible. They didn’t have our rooms ready and we had to wait to get them cleaned. Mind you this was at 10:00pm. Not at 2:00 or 4:00pm. Had better service, food and amenities at Keio Hotel in Shinjuku.

Everything was perfect in every way, except when there was a charge to use the swimming pool.

Beautiful hotel clean rooms they provide essential you might to bring. Staff is very nice. The only problem is no one there speaks English or any other language so it’s very hard to communicate unless you have Google translate. Staff won’t be able to help you with tours you have to figure it out on your own.

Beautiful hotel from the early 1990s (?). The Japanese breakfast (with some Western options) included was great. Rooms beautiful and spacious. Gorgeous bar. A bit off the main path but still pretty central, and it’s worth the extra 5 minutes to the subway.

To sum it all up. We will considering coming back. perfect especially the employees.

Very classic hotel. Lovely gardens & fantastic breakfast. Shame they charge almost $50 per day to use the pool & gym despite advertising it as part of the hotel's amenities.

We loved staying at the RIHGA Royal Hotel Tokyo. The staff was really nice and helpful. One thing to mention that its not quite in Shinjuku as I imagined. It was a bit away from the popular area of Shinjuku BUT the blue line subway is walking distance and you can quickly catch the subway system taking you to any area in Tokyo easily. It was actually nice to stay out of the hustle and bustle and in a relaxing hotel with a nice view of the city. I would stay here again.
