Although the innkeeper said that the hotel is being renovated, the room that we received that also had a Jacuzzi tub, was extremely old. The carpet was nasty and honestly the bed was the most uncomfortable thing. Every time you moved on it, it squeaked, and it felt like there were springs coming out of it. Most channels on the TV did not work also. We were only there for one night and didn’t want to complain, but it was awful and we would never go again.

Great hosts. Great location. Nice lobby / bar / lounge. Super dog friendly :-)! Room itself was basic but nice enough as expected. However, the room was not clean. Not just a dog issue either. There was human hair all over the back of the bathroom door.

Its the prime spot to stay if you are skiing Magic Mtn..2min walk from base of mtn..only reason why i didnt give 5stars was because the parking wasnt plowed and i got stuck..other wise id stay there again..

We nicely greeted, booking was confusing with online reservation. Staff very attentive and find a solution. Amazing dining options affordable. Bar and cozy common area. Room was very spacious with private deck. Forgot a personal item and was shipped to my residence! Love this fact!

Five stars for ambience, comfort, cleanliness. Very cozy common area and bar. Location is beautiful. Staff friendly.
I rated medium for condition as the place is old and clearly gets well used during ski season. HOWEVER, this is not ugly or bad as in a gross motel with broken stuff and dirt. The room was clean and nice and smelled fine, but the carpets were well worn and there is a lot of wear to the place in general. I did not want to leave too many stars on condition and have folks thinking it was a gleaming hotel, it is not. All this said, I enjoyed it more than a shiny hotel. Really good vibe.
I will definitely drive an hour out of my way to stay at Upper Pass when I am back in Vermont.

This stay was hard to judge. I want to really like it. The price was good. It's not a basic hotel, but it doesn't nail fancy either. For every plus, there was an issue. The bed was large, but uncomfortable. It has a fancy tub, but no steps to climb into it. The bathroom was very nice and a great shower, but the door didn't close fully and there is no shelf in it to hold your things. There is a TV, but it's from 25yrs ago. There was also no fridge in the room. There is a restaurant, but it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Which were the first 2 days we were there.
It wasn't a bad stay. They set out coffee which was probably the best I've ever had and best of the trip. The food was really good. Wish they were open every day. The staff was very nice and helpful. Able to tell us where to get laundry done and eat on the days they weren't open. Overall it wasn't bad, just not what I would expect. I thought the location was good with lots of things 30 min or less away. But after sleeping on that bed I'll look for a different place to stay

The management personnel were very nice, but the room needs to be updated and a thorough cleaning.

Our stay was great. I have to say wasn't sure at first but it was a great place to stay. The Red Slate Restaurant was awesome. Great fish and chips.

we are both elderly and did not know we had to climb stairs there are up 5 them turn climb two angled stairs and them 5 more stairs I almost fell they is also no one at the desk during the day and only for a few hours at night will never go they again you take a shower and the water is either so hot or goes ice cold

The stay was great! Make sure to make a reservation on open table about a day before if you plan on eating at the restaurant as it's only open a few nights out of the week. The food there was great and fairly priced. The cheese slate was to die for. The televisions are very outdated and emit a high pitched ringing noise which made it unusable for my partner and I. The lounge area is everything you'd want in a cozy vermont cabin. The area was very quiet and made for some of the best sleep i've had recently. Rooms were very clean. Wifi worked well for the most part, less so when a lot of people were using it. The front desk manager was very kind, but seemed to always be running around doing stuff so catch him when you can! Very cute dogs. Thanks for everything!

My wife and I had a nice, overnight stay at the Upper Pass Lodge. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We chose this hotel because it offered a much lower price than the others I could find in the Londonderry / Chester area. The food at their restaurant was reasonably priced and tasty.

Great location and away from the larger resorts. Room was clean and hot tub in room was excellent. Only negative complaint is the noise(banging) which appeared to be coming from kitchen and the bed is in dire need of replacement, sinking on each side of the mattress. Older lodge but super friendly, restaurant downstairs and great views. Would definitely book again(may request a different area for room due to kitchen noise)

Orbitz booking says breakfast available but they don’t have any breakfast confirmed by the front desk.

The room had no side tables by the bed. There was no microwave or fridge in the room.

We were very pleased with our stay. Very friendly owner that takes the time to talk to his patrons. You can feel the pride in his voice when speaking about Vermont, his lodge, and what they have to offer. A homey, comforting ski-lodge feel, and although we visited during the off season of skiing, the area offers so many other natural sites, country stores, farm markets, or simply exploring beautiful Vermont. We hope to return again.

Nice little hotel; the bar and restaurant were cute and had good food.

Was clean and hostess was perfect

Worn down property. Confusing separate controls for heat and air conditioning; never really had enough heat. Leaky toilet caused semi scalding hot shower temps when toilet tank kept refilling. Bikers beware the once paved parking lot is now semi paved with broken blacktop, rocks, and dirt. But otherwise clean comfortable and cheap. May return.

Vincent was all over cooked great breakfast and dinners along w checking us in

It’s total natural solitude. It’s not yet ski season.

Service and staff were excellent. Our room #20 was very small, old but working tv, toilet was so close to wall in bathroom that no one over 6' could not sit down. Electrical outlets in bathroom did not work. Restaurant was rarely open, but food was good when open. No trash cans in the lobby, hallways or outside. Light in closet did not work. Air conditioner worked great and plenty of hot water. No vending machines on site that we observed.

Wonderful large room with a private deck facing a wooded area.
Great summer time rate, 13 miles from Manchester.

Staff is very helpful. Hotel is dated but clean. Water pressure could be better. Restaurant is open part time with good food. That being said I will return In future.
