The hotel was clean, cozy, and spacious. My only complaint is the shower. It was recently done with a rainfall type shower head that comes straight down in the middle of the shower and it’s a slow trickle. I wouldn’t stay again based on the shower alone

Reasonably large "resort fee" is nothing but a manipulation of the price of hotels.com to create an artificially low price. There are no resort amenities here.
Room was clean, smelled a little bit too much like cleaning products for my liking. Bed was uncomfortable, pillows were old and the room was dingy and depressing.
Clearly this is a place to crash before/she a trip to universal studios or other business nearby.

This hotel is going through improvements and renovations but there should be more attention paid to bathroom amenities and room amenities. Walls are a little thin so if you are on a lower floor you can hear the higher floors noise. It was fine for a couple of days but any longer would not be worth the money they are charging.

The front desk people were VERY nice. The hotel was close to universal studios. The be groom was updated and very nice. The bed was not comfortable. The heater didn’t work so they had a portable heater in the room. It was right next to the freeway and very noisy.

Unfortunately I cannot rate this hotel very high. Our check in was smooth and staff was friendly, but we were very disappointed when we saw our room. The sides of the white chair was absolutely filthy, the lamp shade was dented and broken, there was a hair tie on the bathroom floor, the trim and paint were peeling. It was bad. We wanted to be close to Universal studios so we stayed, but it took a lot of will power to not book somewhere else. Proximity to Universal was fantastic and the little cafe next door was great!

Location was decent for universal studios. Bed in room was not as described, kind bed in horrible condition. Both edges of bed were very low compared to the middle. Took concern to front desk and nothing was done to accommodate/change rooms. Stay wasn’t bad, highly recommend K’s Donut Emporium and Fernanda’s Pizza which was a few minute walk. Sushi Tomoki was amazing, a few minutes up the street as well. Walking distance to universal was not bad, 10 minute walk to get to the Universal tram. And another 2 minute walk to the gate entrance to universal.

It was a nice place. Close to Universal Studios.
Parking was set up weird. You have to leave your keys at the desk if you park in a double parking spot.

We could sleep because next people had a birthday party until 4 morning
And no one went to say nothing
Super bed night and experience for my first time on that hotel

I thought this hotel looked similar to an Element or Aloft and it does... in the pictures. Unfortunately, in person, it is run down and disappointing. Disappoint 1: the EV charging station didn't work and the staff didn't seem concerned about it. Disappoint 2: dirty floors and walls. Disappoint 3: the "indoor pool" is in the parking garage and not heated (not ideal when it's 65 degrees outside). Too cold to even get in the water. Disappoint 4: the bed mattresses were broke uncomfortable. The mattresses had a "mound" in the middle and "sloped" on the sides so it felt like you were going to roll off the bed. Disappoint 5: no free coffee (Are you kidding me?! Who doesn't offer free coffee?). Overall, almost the entire experience was a disappointment and at a higher cost than many other similar hotels (with higher review ratings) in the area. The only positive we took away from our experience was the staff was very nice and accommodating. We won't be staying here again and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to friends and family.

It was great the staff helped us surprise our mom!! It was awesome!

Hotel was tricky to locate, not a building by itself. Hotel is a little rundown and under remodel, there is a lot of traffic noise from street and the interstate. It is a very long walk to Universal Studios. Had to pay for parking which you can expect in California. No convenient dining.

The room was large, but fairly outdated in a lot of aspects. The heater didn’t work so there was a portable heater in the room, but we didn’t realize it until the second day. The microwave didn’t seem to work well either. Some other things that would be nice, would be usb outlets for charging devices. Also, you could hear any loud guests pretty easily.
There may be updated rooms, but we didn’t have one.
The hotel charges a nightly parking fee, but that doesn’t show up when booking the room. But they were kind enough to refund one of the nights from the bill.
The location states it’s walking distance from universal studios, but it’s actually just walking distance to the studio tram that you can ride up. A small detail, but something we had to figure out on our own.

There was no insulation between adjoined rooms, so we could hear everything through the closed door. A domestic situation happened in the hallway late at night with lots of screaming. Not the best area, a bit sketchy on the streets nearby. Overall comfortable room, good price, nice employees and having a little store in the lobby was helpful.

friendly staff, clean rooms, close to Universal Studios.

The facility and room was fine, however the fridge didn't work- luckily we had a cooler that worked or it would gave been a big problem. The bodywash was completely out and the teeny bar of soap- literally the size of a 50c piece- wasn't even enough for hand washing. The batteties in the remote were dead but luckily we swaped them with the other remote. The microwave cord stretched across the sink to be plugged in, which was extremely sketchy.

Very clean and spacious!

Check in was easy- first room, 2 lamps didn't work so front desk moved us into another room- 1 lamp still out and the rooms are so dark with all lighting on- but stayed in that room- toilet immediately began to overflow so when we called front desk "we will send someone up"- maid at the door with a plunger- so we plunged for two days-no maintenance person? elevator stuck on level 2, could not get up to the third floor. not a wonderful experience for over $200 per night!

Very nice property, this is now my must stay at hotel when ever I’m in LA. Sara at the desk is amazing and extremely helpful. GI at the bar you will not find a better bartender. Housekeeping staff go’s above and beyond.

Hotel staff were great and very friendly. Location was decent. Close to Universal Studios; short drive, but a little far if you want to walk. Rooms were clean and spacious, but could use some updates (shower water pressure was trash / dim lighting / furniture was worn in spots). Overall a nice cheap hotel for a few days.

The pictures online do not resemble the room you are reserving. The door to each room has a gap under them that I can stick my whole arm through.
The room is just poor quality. The walls are really thin to where you can hear your neighbor fart! The lighting in the room is really dim, AC unit is loud to where it wakes you up whenever it turns on.
The staff is great and the first floor/lounge is good. They do clean pretty well! These are the only reasons the hotel I gave two stars
We were extremely disappointed in this stay, we almost checked out our first night to find another hotel but didn’t want to go through the hassle.

It was so easy to walk to the tram to Universal Studios! The tv didn’t work and they weren’t able to fix it, nor give us a credit on our bill for it. The pool was heated and fun, but extremely small. The floors in the room were so dirty, I walked around barefoot and my feet were gross. The shower was nice and had good water pressure!

To start the hot water was not even luke warm.
Used wrappers in the room Bathroom had usrd tampons in garbage. Lucky that we only needed to stay one night. The front counter lady was amazing. If not for her this would have been a zero star rating across the board.

It checked the box being close to the Univeral Studios and other attractions. The staff was not welcoming and sometimes not even around. They were all just sitting around, if they were even at the front desk. Overall seems like the hotel is run by amateurs.
The hotel kind of felt unsafe
The pool looks like something out of a horror film. It was in the parking garage in a corner. My child didn’t even want to get in and I can’t blame him. This was a big disappointment for us.

This hotel is in a great location for Universal Studios. It's a 20 minute walk from City Walk so it's super easy to get to.
Checking in was fine, quick and straightforward but weirdly they have an $18 non-optional service charge which is explained as ensuring they can compensate their staff properly. That's outrageous in my opinion and I really begrudged having to pay for it. Just pay your staff properly and stop shifting responsibility onto your guests, it's not on.
Fridge, microwave, heater, air con, vanity kit and even shoe polish in the room and the room was lovely. Big huge comfy bed and had a great night's sleep.
The room was clean but the shower was atrocious. Not only have they posted instructions on the wall on how to use it because it's so complicated / old, the water pressure is non-existent so it took absolutely ages to get washed under the dribble of (eventually) warm water to come out. That really let it down, especially when you've had a huge day at Universal and you just want a big refreshing shower.
Another plus point though is thay checkout is 10am but parking covers you for the whole day so we were able to go to Universal for opening and come back for the car at 10pm which was brilliant.
Overall, it's a great location, a great big comfy bed but the hotel really needs to sort out the shower and get rid of that embarrassing charge.

Floors in the hallways looked like they haven’t been vacuumed in a long time. Walls looked chipped everywhere. Elevator was even dirty. The bed was ok but the blankets were so thin had to request another.
And if you’re going to be showering bring your own shampoo and conditioner and body wash theirs smells awful.

Good access to Universal but overall not worth the money. They have tried to make a chic hotel but rooms are basic. During our stay the room smelled of paint, 2 of the 4 lights in room did not work. Bathroom was out of shower gel. Staff was nice though. I recommend finding a better place for the money.

A few things that we didn't like:
1) partially renovated room with peeled wallpaper
2) ants in the room
3) noisy wine cooler (no fridge)
4) noisy road outside
5) staff came into our room even though we had "do not disturb" sign

I like the location, near Universal Studios. Is Clean.
But the service of mantainance, is not the best.

Parking expensive at $31/day
Mandatory service fee of $18/ day should not be mandatory
Rooms on older side as shower fixtures and toilet

This was a nice clean hotel for a one night stay right on Ventura Blvd near Universal Studios and Studio City.

Room was huge and beds were comfortable. Staff was very professional. They say they have a pool, but its really just a small room with a dirty large hot tub.

This location was the perfect distance to Universal Studios, where we went. It is a very close walk so you could leave your vehicle at the hotel. What I was not a fan of was that even though you spend someone to stay at their hotel, you still have to pay for parking.

My room came with condoms in the coffee tray. Still in package. I wasnt sure if they were left by prior guest or the hotel, I’m guessing prior guest. The shower was so dirty I decided to wait until after my 2 night stay to shower.

When we arrived, pillows smell bad and there's still hair strands on it. The heater on the room isn't working too. There's barely body wash left in the restroom. They changed the pillows right away, and gave us a new bottle of bodywash and offered to be transferred to a different room. The following day, when we arrived at the room, it was all clean but my wife's pillow was missing. It was her comfort pillow eversince she was a kid. We called guest services right away to ask about it but we were told to just check it ourselves on the laundry area on the 2nd level. Out of frustration, we did it ourselves, we went through the dirty sheets just to look for it but it wasn't there. We went straight to the reception again to ask for assistance but we were told that they can't do anything about it aside from leaving a note in the morning to the housekeeping. We checked out at 0530H and no resolution was made. This experience is really sad.
