The room was small but adequate and it was nice to have a refrigerator. Climate controls were effective and the bed was comfortable. The property is an Oder wood frame building, and the room was located next to stairs — one group of guests tended to run up & down — VERY noisy!

We stayed there in January and I am so glad there are still reasonably priced places to stay like the Brigatine Inn.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 1 night in room 6. When we arrived, we followed the sign that said “hotel guest check in at grand banker”. When we went into the restaurant there was no one there. We called the number for the hotel and explained that we wanted to check in and she said “Isn’t there a number you should be calling?” It was super confusing because this was this number for the hotel? After a few minutes she told us to go down the street to a bar to check in so we did that and the girl at the bar was super nice and helpful. Our room was small but the perfect size for the two of us. We were super disappointed that the restaurant was closed on a Saturday night, but we went else where. The only complaint about our room was the bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and i could barely sleep because of it and my body is aching from it. There was no instructions on how to check out and the restaurant and bar were both closed so we gave our keys to the cleaning staff that were also extremely nice. Overall I won’t be staying there again because I’d rather sleep on the floor then that bed.

This was a great value

Love how close the inn is to everthing. Totally walkable and conveniently located. The rooms are a basic, no frills space...would be lovely if the bedding and rugs were updated. The hallway and common area definitely is in need of attention. A good space to crash for the night.

This is always my go to place when I am in Lunenburg for work. I had some issues with the lighting in my room the staff was great and had the problem solved quickly. I highly recommend and the view is something else.

I thought the past was a bit dirty very small and inconvenient for older people

What we liked about this property we really liked. The view from the room was amazing. The jet tub was a fun addition to the room. The restaurant/pub on the property was great - the staff friendly and the food delicious. However, we had a couple of issues that did not get corrected. The room was directly beside a night club that was extremely loud until 1am. We would not stay here again because of the noise - both from the night club and noisy guests staying on the property. The room was advertised as “Queen with hot tub and ocean view” but the bed was actually a double. The other issue was the room was freezing at night and we could not control the heat or get in touch with anyone to help us. Despite these few things, we had a wonderful time in Lunenburg - just not a restful night. I have never given negative comments about a stay before as we don’t expect perfection anywhere we stay but these issues were worthy of mention. Overall, a nice couple of days away and would definitely stay in Lunenburg again, but not at this inn.

Loved everything. The beds, pillows and comforters were luxurious.

The hotel is right across the street from Lunenberg harbour and the museum. We could see it out our window. We walked the harbour walk, the old town. It was excellent. Beautiful spot.

Very dated, filthy carpeted stairs, poor parking, room stuffy, not enough towels

Adorable space with an amazing view and attached to a great pub.
We had a quick but memorable stay.

I would not stay at this property again. There is not a traditional check- in area, and after a long day you have to go through the back door of a busy restaurant to check in. As a young woman travelling alone I was aware that it was very obvious I was travelling alone and felt unsafe. The room itself is dingy, poorly lit and not very clean. Mold in the shower and the doors and walls need to be washed. When leaving there was no clear instructions given to check out as the restaurant wasn’t yet open there was no main desk to ask.

Vehicle access is a nightmare! There is no loading zone for guests, extremely limited coin metered street parking available in this busy tourist town. Check in was a bizarre experience. Once you found where to enter the building, you had to go downstairs to a bar and ask a staff person about getting your hotel room key. The initial feeling upon arrival was one of not wanting to even stay in that location at all. It felt like an opportunistic misrepresentation by the owners of that property, and without any recourse locally to address or listen to our concerns. Payment for the room was taken at the bar and key was provided and there was no other service available at any time. This was the low point of an otherwise wonderful maritime vacation. We had wonderful accommodations for a much better price, and equally interesting and scenic and historically significant communities in Nova Scotia, New, Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. I would recommend that any booking agents not include this accommodation because they are ripping off customers.

The location on the harbour was pretty and convenient, although we didn't have a view from our room. Our room was very small. One of the staff told me it was the smallest in the hotel. When doors were open for cleaning, I could see that other rooms seemed much nicer and more spacious. The carpet in the room was all ripple-y--needs stretching. It was okay for a one-night stay.

We loved the location as it was right in town with lots of restaurants and shops all around. The view of the harbor was beautiful.

If it was possible to use negative numbers, I would. This was obviously a “party room.” The carpeting was wrinkled and dirty throughout the room. Plumbing handles were missing pieces and difficult to turn on and off. Furniture was chipped. Not “distressed.” Chipped. Mattress was terrible and half the closet taken up with a rollaway bed that wouldn’t fit in room. This place sucked. WiFi never worked.

They told me they had maintenance issues with the room I booked with Expedia. They also told me they had contact Smuggler Inn and they had a room for us. When we went to Smuggler Inn, they said they had NOT heard anything from Brigade all day. The staff a Smuggler, Breann, took care of us, NOT Brigade, were i booked a room with Expedia.

I know this inn has gotten some poor reviews but it worked for us. Our room was small but adequate and the bed was comfortable. We were on the first floor and it was not noisy. The staff at the restaurant checked us in quickly and efficiently. The food at the restaurant was delicious and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Street parking is free between 5pm and 11am. Loved the location right on the wharf.

Good stay at Brigantine Inn. Its a small place above a restaurant and brewery. No major issues for us except some noise in the morning when they were unloading kegs of beer.. Our room was small and had one double bed but it was enough space for one night. Very clean. Air conditioner in the room was great You can't get a better location as it is right in the main downtown area with restaurants and shops....with a view of the Bluenose II from our window. Very friendly staff and excellent food.

This room was just as described. A very compact little room but quite comfortable for a couple.

Nice and easy place to stay, in the middle of the town. The arrival is a bit weird with the check in in at the restaurant inside the inn and the staff too busy to help you.

A bunch of rooms over the bar and restaurant

I personally didnt like how my own kids had to whisper in our own hotel room. It was an enjoyable experience.

Be aware that check in was in the restaurant below but there was no one there at check out we just left the keys in the room

The room was ideal for a single person and convenient since this was for business. The other reviewers commenting on their disdain for the checking in process at the bar in the Grand Banker were correct. The staff are too busy to have to deal with this process. Can't there be another way to facilitate this process so your staff can concentrate on the restaurant? The bathroom had another person's hair throughout and the coffee mugs were not cleaned but flipped over only for me to discover. The bed was clean (thankfully) and was comfortable. Place is quiet after 11pm and you park on the street. This would be a good place to stay if we could resolve the other issues I had experienced.

The staff I met were kind, warm, and helpful. The location with its waterfront view is lovely.
Never having been in the building, when I booked my ground floor room I had no idea that I would need to go downstairs to the restaurant (the building is on a hill as is most of Lunenburg) to check in. My mobility isn't great, and the stairs are steep and carpeted. There's an outdoor route with a ramp, but it's a longer walk and it was steamy hot.
In terms of the room, the wall-to-wall carpeting doesn't lie flat in several places, which is a tripping hazard for me.
The excellent staff made a big difference in all this, but I'm not sure I would stay here again.

Room was cute but very small. It did come with a window air conditioner and tv.

Room was small and dated. Check in was in the bar where they're busy enough; why not have a fronr check in? Clean enough and reasonably comfortable, but for the price; what we got didn't march what I paid for it.

The room was alright but not worth what we paid for it. Ground floor "Suite" with a view of the harbor. Privacy was poor as the windows looked out into a small public park right outside that acts as a connector from the main shopping street to the waterfront. There was a bright light that stayed on all night and the single curtains did not adequately block the light. The room was small for a supposed' suite but it had a pull-out love seat so I guess that is why they called it a suite though I'm not sure there was room to actually open it up. The bed was good and the view of the harbor was nice. The older AC worked well but was loud. The area is cute, bustling and very touristy. Hotel staff double as restaurant staff and you check in at the bar, they were frazzled and could not accommodate our request for an early check-in. They were not surly or unkind but there is no front desk and no customer service. They are basically up charging for the convenient location, which, BTW does not come with parking which is in short supply.

Within walking distance of most things I wanted to see. Didn't realize I had to register with the staff in the restaurant below. Room was small, but adequate.

Room was cery tiny and parking in that area is a challenge

The location is amazing. The staff at the restaurant are great. I didn't notice an elevator from an accessibility perspective. This was not an issue for me or my friends, but if you had issues with stairs this would have been challenging unless you were placed in one of the main floor rooms.

Dirty, hot, smelly and noisy. Other than that, just great.

The property and staff were amazing especially with some special requests. The location is perfect for everything you do in and around Lunenburg.
